Getting dark!

I notice it more in the morning. I usually wake about five and it's still quite dark then.

Today has felt like October weather wise!

Mornings quite autumnal, and dark by 9 at night.

An autumnal mist in the valley this morning and all of a sudden the garden has started to look tired.

I agree about the suddenness Maw, I think it was Monday, 8:30, ok so a cloudy day, but still, drawing the blinds, strewth.

So so depressing

As I'm further north than you, it's darker even earlier here.
Also, there was a real nip in the air tonight. Brrrrrr!

It’s damp and cold and I was complaining about the heat weeks ago! Now I am dreading the long and miserable cold months of winter.

Hate to argue but I understand that until 21st Sept Scotland is lighter than England but then changes more rapidly, until 21st March then it gets lighter quicker. However we were just commenting on how dark it is tonight and we are in the far north

I hate to argue too and I have no heart for it tonight, so I will just accept I got it wrong!

Just to be awkward, I love winter much prefer it to summer! ⛈??

It does seem to have arrived suddenly, feels very Autumnal at times too.Although today from late morning onwards was very warm and sunny, first thing and last thing feels very cool.
I already miss the lovely light evenings.

Yes, we noticed that tonight. I don’t usually mind the onset of autumn and winter but life is so weird these days that I’m not really ready for it yet.

We noticed leaves swirling down from the trees already as we drove home today.

My garden has been looking autumnal for a few weeks now. The sun although very pleasant has certainly 'lost' its heat. Even darker days ahead. Yes, I find it all too depressing. This is not entirely about the weather either.

When it’s sunny where I am, it’s still light earlier and stays light longer. These cold grey days mean what MawBe said. Dark before nine.☹️

I've noticed too Mawbe, it seems to have happened suddenly.

It's too hot for my sheltie's beach walk during the day so I've been going in the evening at 7 pm, I normally stay about an hour. It's only a ten minute drive but I don't like driving in the dark any more.

I like the cosy evenings of autumn and winter. In summer I feel a bit guilty if I am not doing something when the sun is shining still at 9pm.
