Well we’ve done cheese to hilarious effect, what should we do next or is cheese the pinnacle?
What about fruit or vegetables?
Any suggestions or rhymes you clever gransnetters?
I need cheering up and calming down.

Good idea, Bluebellwould, shall I set the tone?

Have lots of prunes with your dinner
By next morning you'll be thinner

A dalliance with a swede
Is really all you need!

A daily bowl of bowl of bolognaise,
Is sure to lift any malaise

If you sit down hard on your bum
You could easily squash a plum

In my garden is a walnut tree
The nuts I thought, were just for me
but I have a tree nut allergy
so the ocado driver takes them for free hmm *

*this is a true story

Aren’t you all so clever! I am in awe of your inventiveness…

Scotch bonnet chillies are really the best
Guaranteed to put hairs in your chest

Mangos are great if they are yellow
Not too much, they make you bellow

LauraNorder Fri 20-Aug-21 19:14:30

Oh thank goodness
We’ve exhausted cheese
I prefer fish n chips with mushy peas

Jaxjacky Fri 20-Aug-21 19:26:22

5 a day, I was told
Especially as I’m getting old
Aimed for 7, achieved it too
Nobody mentioned time on the loo

The neighbours hide behind frilly white nets
When they see me approach with a bag of courgettes

And tape their letterboxes shut
To stop me posting my seasonal glut

Please take some of my nice zucchinis
You can wash them down with a few martinis

I’ll leave them just inside the porch
Oh heck, is that a new blow torch?

You’re still eating the ones I left last year?!
That flame is very near my ear

I’m going now, I’ll close the gate
You’re sure you wouldn’t like a crate?

To make a vat of motley stew
Or what the French call ratatou …

Nothing rhymes with ratatouille. sad

watermeadow Fri 20-Aug-21 19:55:14

A brownie nice and gooey
Can follow ratatouille.

Mamissimo Fri 20-Aug-21 20:08:51

As can a plainly grilled courgette-
Which triggers home grown veg en-nui

Fridayschild Fri 20-Aug-21 20:20:33

How about a nice big curry
Followed by a McDonald’s McFlurry! ?

Aha! Something does rhyme! Thank you.

Some muffins filled with berries blue
Can follow a vat of motley stew.

Something I love is a tasty fish supper
With bread and butter and a nice hot cuppa

Hot brownie with cold ice cream
Is something of which I often dream ?

Bluebellwould Fri 20-Aug-21 20:33:47

Oh no a motley stew
Could really make me spew
He was a dog of far renown
Till caught and rendered down
In a Mutley stew.

(Sorry bad day).

ginny Fri 20-Aug-21 20:37:20

To be sure of fitting in to your jeans, take care not to overdo the baked beans

Aldom Fri 20-Aug-21 21:08:41

A delicious steak pie,
It's pastry so short and so crispy....
Slid off the hot plate....
Ended up in a state,
And we had to resort to the whisky.

gulligranny Fri 20-Aug-21 21:45:58

What I really like the most
Is scrambled egg with lots of toast

Callistemon Fri 20-Aug-21 22:01:04

My neighbours know what I will make
"Oh, here she comes with courgette bake"!

Prunes don't work
They're full of sugar
Jump on the scales
And say "Oh b*ger
