We seem to have an international bunch of ladies so which town and country are you in?

nadateturbe I have thought about it but this is the name my friends know me by.

I see. Its such a shame not being able to speak freely any linger. Theres no way round it apart from pm'ing all your friends a new name.

i'm a Yorkshire lass and always think of a sentance from a book I read once
'this is where I'm from, and anywhere else is nowhere'

Canada, obvious by my title. Born in southern Ontario, but a BC gal for almost 40 years. Have family ties to Jersey and northern France.

LauraNorder Tue 24-Aug-21 19:07:16

Lucky enough to live on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey off the North Wales coast.

NfkDumpling Tue 24-Aug-21 19:08:02

England. The north of Norfolk, but not the posh bit.

I've been told by a friend that a friend of hers had recognised me. But wouldn't say who it was! It did make me feel a bit uncomfortable for a while, but I've narrowed it down! And anyway, I never say anything on GN I wouldn't say to a stranger at the bus stop.

No, please don't change dragonfly, I'm useless at guessing people when they re-invent themselves as I have a terrible memory for names.

moggiek Tue 24-Aug-21 19:12:24

Scotland, Ayrshire coast.

Hi everyone, I’m a newbie, I joined Gransnet about a fortnight ago and I’m enjoying it immensely. But back to the question! I’m in New Zealand, born in Newton Abbot, Devon, emigrated with my family in 1959 as a young child. Lived here all my life, absolutely love it, it’s home, BUT….there’s something basically, intrinsically, English in me. I’ve never been back, if/when we get this jolly Covid sorted, it’s my dream to realise. Have a great day x.

Ooh! I live near - ish to one of you!

England - I have given more detail in various conversations.

Berkshire by birth, Bedfordshire is my adopted county and I love it.

Kalu Tue 24-Aug-21 20:15:15

Scotland, outskirts of Glasgow.
Only a few trusted GN friends I have met up with know my specific location.

GagaJo Tue 24-Aug-21 20:32:20

England, NE. Although have just done a year and a half in Switzerland.

SueDonim Tue 24-Aug-21 20:45:53

I’m a Maid of Kent. I’ve lived in Scotland for much of my adult life but it’s no longer home to me. sad

I never say anything on GN I wouldn't say to a stranger at the bus stop.
Possibly not NfkDumpling
But I love the fact that we are able to share things or ask advice that we prefer not to do with real life family and friends.

I'd just like to know how to pronounce your username!
(I could be missing something cryptic here)

nadateturbe Wed 25-Aug-21 01:24:08

Callistemon I'll try.
its three words, Spanish, Nada Te Turbe - Let nothing disturb you.
Nada as the a in alpha
Te tay
Turbe tourbay

It's a Taize chant which is used for my favourite circle dance.

Coolgran65 Wed 25-Aug-21 01:39:02

nardateturbe. Ireland- SE wouldn’t be County Down. County Down is in SE of Northern Ireland.
They are two different countries. ?
