Good Morning Sunday 2th August 2021

Good morning from a dreary looking N. Bucks. No rain forecast and a bit of sun around lunchtime. Our lunch will be late today as Dd1 , SIL, DD2 and maybe DGS are coming for a BBQ. Not too much work as everyone is bringing food with them.
Off to the field with Lord Jasper this morning and he’ll enjoy a walk with our DDs this evening.

Get well wishes for those who need them. Enjoy the weekend as best you can and hopefully a smile in everyone’s day.

Good morning, all from a chilly and overcast part of the Sarthe.

After a good day yesterday, my patient, olddudders, has had a poor night, hence my late appearance. Despite my mother and sister being nurses, the last few days have taught me that I made the right decision by not following suit!

I do hope the the combination of paracetamol and the heat of the bath soothed your pain, Scentia. It does sound as if you’re suffering and I do hope you soon start to feel better. Get well wishes to Gwen, too.

What a wonderful tribute to Captain Sir Tom that his name is on the front of a bus, Mick! I believe he has been similarly honoured by GWR, on one of their new hybrid express trains.

Good morning from Durham. What a change from yesterday which was absolutely tropical.
So far, it’s grey and dull today.
Have been up since the crack of a spuggy’s fart - still trying to get used to my new mattress.
On my blocks in case DD2 wants me to take DGS1 off her hands, as she’s under par with a chest infection.

Good morning everyone from a dull overcast start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. It’s really good to get this thread with today’s date on it it’ll be good for when I get a memory test.Would you believe it ever since my dearly departed neighbour was asked by a hospital doctor to recite the months of the year backwards I’ve been rehearsing for when it’ll be my turn

That’s himself up and dressed asking what I’d like for my breakfast not many like him in a pound I’m really blessed.

Talking of being blessed we’re planning a visit to church this morning we’ve no longer to book a place, just turn up and continue to keep safe.

I’ve got the white trousers and tee shirt out ready to jump into,not literally of course I’ll need to wait until my carer comes. I’m hoping for a sunny sunny afternoon. We don’t really need to dress up, these days are long gone. I’ll wear a smart jacket though to keep the oldies right

To all who are in despair today, virtual hugs I’ll even say one for you. Take care have a lovely sedentary Sunday full of goodness.

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. It was boiling hot yesterday and as we went for our evening walk , my df and I recalled that the last week in August is always good weather, just after the schools go back. Remember that if you are thinking of a holiday in Scotland. It's also the last week of the Edinburgh Festival .

I shall be going to virtual church, meeting the Registrar and couple who are proposing to have their wedding in my garden next month, harvesting my summer vegetables and planting some overwintering crops that sounds like I have a farm! probably other things as well.

Greyduster has the forecast for our area spot on. Quite a contrast to yesterday, but good for us in one respect as it's "tackle the hedge day" which has had a growth spurt. Yesterday would have been too hot to do it, really.

Good morning Mick and all from a rather dull Anglesey, disappointing after several hot and beautiful days but it may buck up later fingers crossed ?.
We painted the new garage yesterday in what should have been oyster white but looked decidedly grey so will go over it today in something a bit warmer looking.

Hope the covid grans recover soon, not at all pleasant I’m sure.

After all the busyness of the last few weeks, we are having a lazy start today.

Our exciting day will then continue with Dh using the barbecue rotisserie to cook pork - hope it works. I'm aiming to get him to cook the turkey on it.

Good morning from a sunny Black Country.

We had a BBQ last night and sat out until 10pm!

Today I am off to spend the day at DS's, as they are going out most of the day, and DGD aged 12 needs looking after as her 17 year old sister is working. So not a quiet day for me. I think it will be more a case of DGD looking after me!

I will stay overnight, then pick up Mum on the way home and bring her here for dinner.

My 'little' brother is 66 today! I say little as he is younger than me, but at 6ft 4 tall he is hardly little!

Great photo's Urmston. We were last in Malaga 2018, and hope we can go next year.

Jet2 have offered us a refund credit note for our trip to Portugal on 21st September. We had not booked anywhere to stay, so we have accepted the credit note. We have to redeem it in 6 months though.

Sorry your DH had a bad night Ashcombe I hope he improves of the next day or two.

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny Suet on Sea, Lancashire coast. Sounds like you had a nice day Mick.
Out for meal last night and told on entering there was no need for a mask. Seemed strange… My friend ruined his main course by eating a pile of garlic bread, a very healthy helping. I abstained of course, but haven’t a large appetite anyway. Very nice pork medallions but a rather long wait. The usual street entertainment in town with passing drunks.
Then back and watched The Dig as he hadn’t seen it before and I didn’t mind seeing it again.
This morning am taking him to the dunes and beach where he will do some naturalisting? (He’s not a naturist as far as I know?) Very knowledgable on plants etc.
I find visitors a mixed blessing now, part of me really enjoys it, another is quite glad when they move on. My idea of hell would be running a B&B or hotel.

I shall have to do some baking this morning and possibly a fish pie for Tea. I've got a wash on, so inevitably there will be ironing for either today or tomorrow.

Good morning Mick and the GM team from (guess the sky colour) east London ... it’s grey of course.

We had our film night last night and watched The Road to Perdition, which was made in 2002 but we had never seen.
It had Paul Newman (it was so nice to see him again) Tom Hanks (playing a bad man!) and Daniel Craig! Well worth watching but it’s a gangster movie so it’s a bit gruesome.

We have been enjoying the Prom Concerts on BBC 4. It’s sad not to attend any in person, but having shielded for so long, has made me very cautious. The Albert Hall is quite a long Underground journey from our house and I think travelling on the Tube, would make me v nervous.

Nice reading all the posts very enjoyable except of course when illness etc are mentioned.

Read four books over the past few days, decided to leave the TV off and catch up on the reading for a change. I am a fast reader and devour books!

Good morning from a grey East Yorkshire. What a difference from yesterday where it was sunny and warm. We decided to have a day out in Knaresborough where it was also sunny. Had a lovely leisurely stroll and a sit by the river enjoying an Ice cream. We went early and left mid afternoon so weren’t affected by busy traffic.
Today having a quiet day. Just ourselves to please this weekend as family are away. I’ve cooked a chicken that will have with salad. Just about to head out for a coffee somewhere.
