Good Morning Everyone,
Looking like another dry day here in brackley this morning .
Yesterday , was an interesting day for me , I went Buckingham and then Bicester , returning to Buckingham later .
Had a wonder through the flea market , my usual cafe was closed for the day so went and ate elsewhere , anyway tow things happened whilst there.
The first was a Stagecoach double decker bus on the X5 Bedford to Oxford run , it was in the new Stagecoach livery , but also carried a name on the front and entrance to the bus of local hero or national hero " Captain Sir Tom Moore" on it
the second was seeing someone who lives in one of the villages close to Buckingham , who I have not seen for over 18 months , once recognising her I put my hand up to her as like we used to .
Take care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and All.

I was wide awake at 5.00 am, far too early so am now glugging tea.

Looks like a nice day here in South Bucks.

How great having Captain Sir Tom Moore’s name on the bus. That’s good Mick that you could acknowledge someone you knew who has clearly survived the virus.

We visited our friend in hospital yesterday. Her brain was razor sharp at 97 and we chatted for 2 hours, she wore me out ?

Good morning from another grey day. I wish we could have either rain or sun - this relentless greyness is depressing me.
Glad you both had good days yesterday, Mick and NanKate.
We walked round the “fair” yesterday. Although it was cheerful, there were fewer than half the stalls, but was busy with the band and closed streets. It’s on for another two days. Perhaps there will be more on then. But it’s a start back to normality.
Virtual church this morning . Must think of something for dinner.
Have a good day, full of small pleasures and joys. ??☀️☀️☀️????

Good morning everyone from DD's in a bright East Northants. Looking forward to going out to breakfast/brunch this morning.

Had a nice day mooching around the shops yesterday; unfortunately I could not find anything I liked to spend my vouchers on. I may have to spend them online. But we had delicious coffee and cakes! I did get a new shoulder bag, though, and stocked up on toiletries.

Came home and sat in the garden with wine, reading, and I managed to finish my book.
Later we had a Chinese takeaway.

Glad you had a good day yesterday, Mick.

Hope we all see some sunshine ? today.

Good morning Mick and all who follow, grey day again here in Oxfordshire, so pleased that your days are returning to normal Mick and nice that a bus has a name on that we can all relate to.
Spent yesterday having a good clear out of the shed quite a pile of stuff to go to the tip when the Bank Holiday rush is over, although as our Garden bins haven’t been emptied for a month, I guess the queues will be long for a while yet.
After a tidy up of the vegetable patch I called it a day and read a book without feeling guilty!
Roast today with DD2, nephew and dog, apart from that an easy day.
Hope all who follow have a good day and manage to find a smile or 2 along the way.

Good morning from sunny Derbyshire.
We had a lovely family meal last night and have a family party all day in my sister's garden. Hotel breakfast first.
Going to be dry and bright but cooler than of late so mustn't forget my cardi.

Love to all x

Good morning from West Berkshire, looks lovely out there at the moment.
Looking forward to lunch out today and a family visit this afternoon.
We think that we have a mother and baby muntjac living in our garden as they keep emerging from the same bush at dusk every evening. So lovely to see them together.

Wishing you all a peaceful day .

Good morning from a dull but dry NE.
All family safely home from their holidays.
Sister and BIL visited and we got to hear about their time with their four GSs, the boys had a week of outdoor activities in the Lakes. BIL in his 70s was up in the treetops with them, braver person than me.
Son in law's birthday today, my goodness he is closer to sixty than fifty now shock
Enjoy the weekend but do take care.

Rosycheeks Sun 29-Aug-21 07:13:50

Good morning all and thank you for the warm welcome yesterday.
It is sunny this morning in Herts hope it stays that way.
Well I cleaned up after the deco mess so my house looks fresh and tidy. Just a trip to the shops and weeding in the garden as it has been neglected a bit because of the decorating.
I was up at 4 this morning I am an early riser because before I retired in Jan, I used to work in London so early mornings are the norm for me and my cat who gets annoyed if im not up to give his royal highness his breakfast. We havent got any children so Reggie is our baby and is very spoilt.
Hope you all have a lovely sunday and are all well. flowers

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

I woke up in my own bed this morning. Sounds like I’ve been transported! I have been to stay with Beechnutella and her fella. He cooked us a meal and took the dog for a walk so we could chat and drink wine. Yesterday morning we went out for breakfast and then to Bristol to pick something up. On the way home we went to a carnival.

A pottering day for me today in my front garden.

Today I’ve remembered to tell you I think dating the morning start was a good idea Mick.

Have a good day all whatever you do ?

Urmstongran Sun 29-Aug-21 07:21:47

Morning everyone from Malaga. Another hot & sunny day ahead. Himself has a couple of sporting events to watch this afternoon - there’s a Grand Prix and then a Man. Utd game. I shall buy a new book on my Kindle and sit in the gardens under a palm tree. Each to their own haha!

Well, it’s the end of August and all the Spanish pensioners go home today or tomorrow. They come each summer for the whole month (like us I suppose!) and are a fun & friendly bunch! They all gathered at the garden bar one late afternoon last week. I offered to take a photo and the next day when we went into Arroyo, I took my iPad and had a dozen of each of these 2 photos printed off so they all had a hard copy and I handed them round in the gardens. They were surprised and delighted - I think they must have assumed the photos were just for myself.

Hope our Covid sufferers are feeling a bit better today.

Enjoy Sunday - the 29th! - all who can. x

DanniRae Sun 29-Aug-21 07:33:46

Good Morning to All! Here in SE London we have blue skies poking through white, fluffy clouds - so quite promising I'd say.

Not sure about taking the dog to the park today because she seems to have hurt her paw yesterday so we will see how she is.

I have been really looking forward to today because all my family are gathering at my eldest daughter's place for a BBQ and I love it when we are all together.

So have a good day everyone - Danni x

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks like a good day ahead.
Day 3 of my isolation today. I still feel fine but my back and chest are killing me. I have to lie on my tummy to ease it. I went into the garden earlier and did a bit of exercise to see if that is the reason but it is just as bad. Bath and paracetamol are next in the list. Hope you are feeling ok Gwen
So nice of you Urms to do the photos for your Spanish friends.
Have a good day folks I am just reading today I think.

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Sun trying to find it's way out here in the Black country.
Nice to hear of your travels Mick and to see your getting back to some normality.
Washing on, will take a stroll round to shops later have some cards to post plus need to buy some.
Have the best day you can everyone and may you all find some ?.

Gingster Sun 29-Aug-21 07:54:34

Good morning all from a sunny Essex.
Mick - I’m so glad you enjoyed your day out ?.

Urms - they look a cheery bunch! ?

Rosy cheeks - I hope you’re enjoying your retirement after working London all those years. Perhaps as autumn /winter approaches with darker mornings, you will sleep a little longer. ??.

I spent yesterday morning with my friend in Benfleet. Only a few miles away and Not far from you Grannygravy . I was nearly at her home when the high road was closed. Burst water main. The diversion took me another 15 minutes to get to her. With all the building of housing , the roads are just going to get worse. Lovely to see her though and we had lovely cake waiting for me. ?☕️. By the way GG her dh has just written a book about Benfleet and had it published. I’ll lend it to you when I see you.

DS1 and family coming in for coffee this morning. Maybe just DS and DIL. The girls 15 and 12 sleep in these days and are tricky to get out of bed. ??

Wishing you all a lovely day. ?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 29-Aug-21 08:01:41

Morning Mick and all

It’s meant to be a nice day weather wise here in S E Essex, I do hope so as we are going to our friends for lunch in her garden. First time since the summer 2019, so no cooking for me today, yippee.

I completed my ironing yesterday, but it wasn’t without dramas!! My iron gave up and shorted out the electrics, so DD went to her home and collected her iron for me, it’s one of those huge things with a separate water reservoir (no idea why she has got one of those as her ironing always ends up in my ironing basket). I didn’t like it but laboured on until the end and then ordered a new Bosch iron from the long river company’ which arrives tomorrow.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright, sunny if chilly corner of Somerset

A busy day yesterday and more bits and bobs ahead today. Also a potential temporary cleaner is coming for a look around, must try not to deter her.

Good wishes to all, especially anyone managing illness or worries. Hope there’s a smile for everyone and Sunday proves to be kind.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 29-Aug-21 08:03:47

Gingster it’s not just a burst water main, there is now a sink hole in the road it’s been closed since last Monday (it’s the other end of the road to me, so you must have driven past my house)

brook2704 Sun 29-Aug-21 08:09:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy just now but the sun is due out later
It must be a real struggle Scentia hopefully the pain will ease a bit and good you were able to get into the garden. Hoping gwen is doing ok too
So good to see the bus with Captain Sir Tom Moore mick when I was at the IWM Duxford near Cambridge a couple of weeks ago they had a beautiful display of his 100th Birthday cards, it was really moving to see and read them all.
Yesterday we had a lovely busy day mostly spent with DD2 and the DGC. Today we’re planning to continue with the garden work. We’re getting a gardening company to help with a new path and seating area but we need to move a few plants first and finally decide which way the path is going etc.
It sounds like there’s lots of family meet ups planned, hoping everyone has a lovely time
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Sun 29-Aug-21 08:10:44

Oh thanks GG - a sink hole ! ?. Oh my goodness,. That’s going to take a while to fix.

I’ll give you a wave ?, next time I’m that way. Must meet up soon. ?

Greyduster Sun 29-Aug-21 08:14:56

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Glad you had a good day out, Mick. Is your map seller still at the flea market? A pale grey day in South Yorkshire and cool. Nothing much planned for today. DH looks a bit brighter but it’s slow progress and he has no energy. I may tackle the front rockery later as some of the plants are getting a bit out of hand. The winter heathers are starting to come into flower, though, which is always nice.
Enjoy your day, one and all!

Grandmajean Sun 29-Aug-21 08:15:13

Good morning all ☀️
Slept late this morning. Looks like a lovely day.
Happy retirement ,*Rosy cheeks*
I have teenage granddaughters too Gingsterand one gets up with the lark but we have a joke in the family about checking that the other one is still alive !
I wish the best day possible to all.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining.

We are going out for coffee later, no other plans today.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone xxx

baubles Sun 29-Aug-21 08:23:21

Good morning Mick, good to hear about your outing yesterday, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

I really enjoyed my zoom chat with my cousin yesterday, we blethered for over an hour after which DH and I went out for dinner at our local Indian restaurant. Lovely meal, somehow the takeaways from the same place aren’t quite up to the same standard.

Nothing planned for today, dog walking, knitting and reading I expect.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday.

Daisytwoshoes Sun 29-Aug-21 08:24:40
