Urmstongran you are evoking many family memories Los Boliches was our family home for many years, my sister went to primary and senior school in Avda de Acapulco, blow it a kiss for me ❤️ ??

Good morning from a very dull Black Country. The sun did come out late yesterday afternoon.

Didn't get too much sleep last night as MrJ's car alarm started going off every couple of hours. In the end at about 4am he went out and left it unlocked! It is still on the drive luckily, not sure how this problem will be fixed. He is still fast asleep.

Urmston we have done that journey a few times to Fuengirola. The trains are so clean and the fares so cheap! Feeling a bit nostalgic now. Hope we can get over there next year. Feelingnostalgic.

Enjoy your break in Wells NanKate here is a photo of our last visit..

Have arranged to have a long phone chat with my friend who moved to Lincs in 2017. I really miss our lunch/coffee meet ups.

Wishing you all a good day. Missing Marydoll

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders. Grey, overcast and not very warm today but it is due to improve later.
I'm tired from my very long walk yesterday with U3A. It was lovely seeing a part of the country so nearby and yet I'm ashamed to say, I had never been before and I've lived here over 40 years.

Later today our American cousin arrives so I should prepare a room for her. She texted from the baggage "line" at the airport yesterday and sounded stressed.

I have little if any desire to travel far at the moment, especially by plane.
I plan to take her to see the new museum in Galashiels which has been built to house the Great Tapestry of Scotland.

I'm so sorry OldD is still in terrible pain Ash.
Enjoy your trip today Urmston and the final days of your stay.
Good wishes too for today's weddings although it's unlikely that the oldies will match AuntyFlo and her man.

Hoping you all have the best day possible. Special wishes to our absent friends.

good morning everyone from a damp and dismal day here on the east coast of Fife. If i believe the weather forecast we’re meant to get light showers today. However the pattern these past few days has given us late afternoon sunshine. Fingers crossed the same goes for today

My DH has had a horrible head cold these last couple of days but it’s clearing up now. I got my hair cut and coloured yesterday I’m beginning to wonder if it’s all worth the palaver she took 2- 3 hrs it was a long haul at great expense too. Fingers crossed the head itch clears up.

Grandmattie get on the google site to get lateral flow test kits you’ll get them sent to you in a few days with full instructions. Then when you’ve carried it out you’ve to record the result back again google how to record this on your tablet they’ll send you confirmation on your phone or back on to the tablet, that should do the trick. If you need to know more just pm me.p I’m a dab hand at all this.

Rain or no rain we’re off to the nearest town for a little run in the car. I might pop in to Matalan for a cheap pr of jammies for our next trip to Aberdeenshire. I like going on my holibobs with new jammies just shorts and a top does me fine I can’t stand anything long on my legs I get too hot.

Have a good day everyone spoil yourself a little do something good. smile flowers

Morning everyone, won’t mention the weather! Not much on today, mobile hairdresser coming, then I’m off to water a friends garden who has gone to Switzerland to visit his son. Wishing everyone a good day, missing Marydoll’s novellas, hope she comes back soon.

Good morning all,
Dull and cool here , watching my Daughter loading the caravan , they are away for a couple of weeks , I am left to hold the fort and repel visitors ?
Yesterday was nice , we were early at M+S for click and collect , so I found a table outside and she went to fetch coffe and scrumptious cakes . We did the children’s sharing , !ie halve the cakes so we could enjoy both !
It was lovely to sit and watch everyone go by , I could have gone in and browsed , everyone was sanitising their hands and wearing masks , but I couldn’t think of anything I needed !
Thinking of our missing posters and our poorly friends xxx

Good morning Mick, Annie, not forgetting our Marydoll.
We had a lovely day yesterday. I made chocolate muffins in the morning, and in the afternoon our granddaughter, husband and great grandson arrived. They brought with them all the ingredients for supper. Cooked by husband of GD, it was delicious. There were toys scattered everywhere By GGS, and even the old ones he enjoyed, as they were new to him. DH played football in the garden! and a tiny bunch of flowers was chosen and picked by GGS for table decoration. He was a delight and the best bit was I was allowed cuddles and hugs. We were both a bit shattered when they went home, but nicely so.
This evening we shall be picked up by SIL and taken to their home for two nights. It will be a squeeze, and I expect we shall be woken early by GGS. Then a family BBQ celebration in the afternoon.
Have a good day one and all.

Haven’t had much to report so though I have read I haven’t posted. Life has been quite difficult with DH but he has now decided that he likes the carer who comes for three hours on a Thursday afternoon, so that is a great relief. Yesterday I joined a group of WI friends for a book group discussion and it was so good to be with people.

Tesco trip today and must find the energy to do some cutting back in the garden which will be home to jungle creatures if I don’t do something. I used to find gardening really therapeutic but now find it merely tiring, and two hours a week from our gardener is not nearly enough to keep it under control.

Still missing Marydoll, EV and Grandmafrench, all of whom brightened my day. Hope they are all OK and know that we miss them.

Good morning Mick and all. It’s cool, grey and cloudy again here in Lancashire. At least it’s dry with no rain forecast. Temperature currently 14 deg C.

Another day with not much planned, still resting my knee, I think I overdid it a bit yesterday. I finally got my missing meds yesterday afternoon. The new mattress is so comfy, I had a really good sleep and didn’t want to get up this morning.

Welcome to any new posters. Best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs to anybody suffering.

Wishing a safe journey to anybody traveling.

Have the best day possible.

Good morning everyone from a grey and dull Northampton. Not much planned for today after my exertions yesterday - Hoovered upstairs then did the stair carpet and introduced the duster to the bedrooms; distracted along the way by tidying up the photo albums and reminiscing.......happy days, especially of our wedding day. Also cleaned the banisters which is a fiddly job. Then in the afternoon cut the front grass. All that exercise gave me backache!

Had a pleasant evening walk with my group, then a friend and I headed off to the pub for our regular Thursday evening meal out. Delicious scampi and chips with a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio, what's not to like?

Will take it easy today and leave cutting the back grass till tomorrow. Must spread the jobs out to break up the weekend. Planning on making a curry for dinner, but just realised I have no coconut milk, so will have to do without.

Will have to have a look and see if I can find the aforementioned photos. Lovely hair Elizabeth!

LauraNorder Fri 03-Sept-21 10:27:33

Good morning Mick and all from Anglesey, no rain, no wind and wrapped in a cosy grey blanket keeping us warm… ish.
Belated anniversary wishes Auntyflo and Mr Flo. What a lovely photograph. Hope you enjoyed your special day.
Hug to Georgesgran, lots of warm and happy memories to sustain you.
Urms, I am almost emerald green with envy, all that sunshine, meals out, wonderful sights, sounds, scents.
Missing grandmafrench and more basking in warm climes along with her lovely caring posts. Muse too, wonder how wee Mya is getting on.
Hope olddudders back improves Ash, those spasms are horrid and very painful. Absolutely no lifting, lots of butt cheek clenching every hour or so can be helpful exercise along with some core strengthening moves.
Have a good day everyone and keep a lookout for a random pink flamingo, plenty to go round. ?

Grandmattie The most unusual wedding conducted by my late husband was between a late middle aged couple. They were farmers. The marriage took place in church at 8am. The couple wore Wellington boots, macs and carried their shopping bags. There were two witnesses. Once the formalities were complete the happy couple left to do their shopping at the market.

Grandmajean Fri 03-Sept-21 12:03:32

AgreeLauraNorder - I too am missing the posters. Where is Sheepandcattle ? Her posts too were very entertaining but I am an animal lover so they appealed particularly to me.

Missed the morning posting - busy looking after lively GC!
I gather we might have a mini heatwave next week - hope so! We would normally be in France now. Miss GrandmaFrench’S lovely posts about France - hope she returns sometime.

Dogsmakemesmile Fri 03-Sept-21 15:07:27

Afternoon everyone. Grey and dry here in the Scottish Borders. Had lovely morning having coffee with old work colleague/friend in my garden. Still being cautious but I do like having coffee and biscuits outside. Don't have to hoover... Have not read posts yet. I hope Scentia and Gwen fully recovered and anyone else who is unwell gains some relief.x
