Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry at the moment, but looks like it could turn into a nice sunny day here in brackley.
My usual routine for a Saturday , bus to Buckingham ,and then Bicester , before returning to Buckingham to visit the lea market ,and also hoping my favourite cafe is open today .
Take care,
Mick

Good morning, everyone, from a warm morning in the Sarthe, following a humid night.

We’ve both slept better which helps us to face the day. Later we shall shop for food and I hope DH will accompany me although he does find any jolting in the car sets off his spasms of pain.

Happy weekend, everyone! ?☀️?

Good morning from a gloomy Bristol. We have been threatened with a little sun and some warmth today.
Yesterday, we had a lovely time at “We the Curious”, renamed from @Bristol. It is an excellent interactive science place with such interesting displays and things. The upstairs has a great deal about Aardman, the people who did Morph and Wallace & Grommit..
We are getting too old for these all day, all singing, all dancing days out, but it was really lovely to be with the girls and their endless curiosity.
Being Friday, poor Iris had to have her dressings changed. She is allowed a long shower; wetting the frame, so as to soften them, then the nurse comes and cleans the screw sites and redressed them. Poor little girl, she gets a lot of pain from it.
Goodness knows what we’re doing today but it won’t be restful.
Ash, oldd must be so happy to have you around to help him. I hope he gets fewer and fewer spasms.
Have a contented day, all GraMmingos, especially the absent ones who are much missed.

Morning Mick and all. Grey start in Herts but hope it turns sunny like yesterday.
Went to specsavers yesterday was in there for 1hr and 15 mins. My cateracts are getting worse and I had a test that said I had a bit of glycoma have to go back in 6 months to check on it. Brought 2 new pairs of glasses and was told I have to wear glasses for driving as Im just under the legal limit.
Came out with a headache because of the light shining in my eyes for what seemed ages.
Started my knitting so far so good.
Weeding today and potting the mincemeat.
Hope everyones well and if not sending hugs.
Have a good Saturday. Rosie flowers

Morning Mick, morning All. Sky looks to be clearing over our corner of Somerset.

Productive day yesterday, managed a couple of hours on a surprisingly quiet sea front too.

Mr C has a blood test this morning, we were surprised the surgery wanted him on a Saturday. Hope for a walk afterwards, maybe sea front again or along our river. Two washer loads to iron and towels to wash when we return. We seem to be doing laundry for the world.

Sending get well wishes to all poorly people, hope today brings sunshine and a smile to us all.

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s a bit grey but quite warm. Yesterday afternoon turned out to be lovely and sunny so I took DGS out to the park for a picnic and a run around. I also took him into town to get his first pair of school shoes ready for next week - he looks so cute in his slightly too big for him school uniform!
Today I’m having a day off childcare ?and am going to spend some time sightseeing and browsing around Cambridge. It definitely seems a lot busier than it did just a few weeks ago.
Brave Iris GM she’s certainly got it tough
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Beechnut Sat 04-Sept-21 07:38:15

Good Morning all from Severnside. It looks as if it’s going to be a nice day.

Have you seen the Upfest buildings on your days out in Bristol Mattie?

cornergran I was surprised many moons ago to be called for a hearing test on a Sunday.

Today I’m going to work under my stairs and I might paint it as well.

I hope you all have a good day ?

kittylester Sat 04-Sept-21 07:40:58

Morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

Ironing this morning and then a trip to DD3's new house which was left in a dreadful state apparently.

grandMattie Sat 04-Sept-21 07:45:34

I have, Beech, but hadn’t realised it was part of a bigger project. Certainly more interesting than the usual unattractive building sites!

Good morning from another beautiful day in Bournemouth, DH surprised me with a couple of days by the sea, by sheer coincidence it’s the Air show, we met some lovely people and sat all day in the sunshine, watching some amazing displays, these Pilots must have amazing physical strength and as for the Wing Walkers………..
Back home today though to the real world, but I think it’s done us some good to get away from home for the first time since early last year.
Enjoy your time with your DH ash
Poor Iris she is a tough little girl and I wish her all the best.
Hope those who follow find some smiles today and hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.

Good morning everyone from Malaga. We are forecast 32°C, sunny with a light breeze. Considering how much time I spend in the shade of a palm tree, I have a fabulous tan now! It must be from our walks, as and when, albeit I use Factor 50 sunscreen.

We plan a stroll up to Palm Tree Avenue. It’s a 40 minute walk but worth it as I have a favourite bar there. It’s popular with the locals, has a shady terrace with lots of greenery and my main reason is they do a gorgeous generous avocado and tuna salad. A walk and a salad? If I keep this up I’ll soon be a size 12 haha!

The reason I’m not is that following our relaxing Saturday lunch, we plan to continue a walk to a bar owned by our friends. They used to be neighbours in our apartment in Urmston! What a coincidence when they told us they were moving to run a bar in Benalmadena. Their plan is 5 years (they’ve done 2y so far and stayed afloat during Covid) and then buy a property somewhere on the coast and retire. Their terrace looks over the Mediterranean. They did their homework well and chose a great location!

Enjoy Saturday all of you who can. x

Grandmajean Sat 04-Sept-21 07:55:22

Morning all.
Don't envy your DD kittylester as we once bought a filthy house too !
DS driving to Scotland this morning to collect a new kitten. Seems a long way to go from Cheshire but the kitten is a Devon Rex and there are no local breeders at the moment who have one available. DS and family already have a one year old cat from this breeder so think he would appreciate a companion ! I think there will be a lot of hissing and spitting ! GC are very excited.
Not many posts yet.
Have a happy Saturday if you can.
Good wishes to Gransnetters with worries.

Neen Sat 04-Sept-21 08:00:53

Hello Mick,
Here in Suffolk is a slight breeze but beautiful pale blue sky with creamy clouds . Have a great day

harrigran Sat 04-Sept-21 08:16:04

Good morning from a grey NE
DD and SIL visited yesterday and brought my shopping, this is her final weekend as she returns to Brussels on Monday. We are hoping the 6pm Eurostar will run as it is the first day of the new schedule. SIL will remain here in the NE for a while longer and help out.
Sister and BIL are coming this morning and we are going to a restaurant to celebrate GD's birthday, we have not had a family meal out since December 2019.
My sister is not very happy as she lost a front tooth cap on Thursday and has been unable to get a dental appointment until the middle of October.
Enjoy your weekend.

Good morning from a dull and cloudy albeit warm Black Country. Yesterday afternoon, the sun came out and we ate our homemade beer battered fish and chips outside, and stayed out until 10pm! Not many evenings left to do this I fear.

MrJ's daughter in London tested positive for Covid yesterday! She says at the moment it is just like a cold. She is 26 so hopefully it will be mild. Only had the first jab so far though.

DD's Labrador had an X-ray yesterday and he has Hip Displacia. Not sure what that means. He is only 4.

Start sorting clothes today for our trip away in caravan. Going to Burnham for one night where it is stored, then off Monday to Corfe Castle near Swanage for a week. Probably our last week away this year. Weather looks hopeful.

Urmston I wear Factor 50 and still have a slight tan, and haven't even been abroad this year! We have had some lovely sitting on the beach days in the UK though, but I keep mostly in the shade.

Wishing you all a lovely Saturday.

NannyJan53 Sat 04-Sept-21 08:17:17

Meant to say welcome to Neen flowers

Good morning all. Hoping this N. Bucks cloud clears like yesterday’s.
I had an unsettled evening and night having seen an accident on my way home .
Small local shop this morning and some membership cards to print for our craft club.

Dinner this evening with two pairs of long time friends .

grandMattie it is a long haul for brave Iris.

Safe journeys for any travellers and hope the day brings a smile to you all.

Good morning everyone from a fairly bright start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. I do like wakening up tothe sun peeking through the blinds (not the curtains cause they’re almost blackout ones which I mostly keep open. Yesterday was a good productive day with me at last contacting my social worker to make enquiries about whether I can use my direct payments to buy a power pack for my wheelchair. Hopefully my dh when his asthma plays up won’t get out of puff by using this. It’ll be interesting to see if I get authorisation. After all! these funds are to benefit him. smile

Himself at last cleaned out our business drawer yesterday! that was a real task for him grinnow he knows where the car insurance documents are they’ve quoted him double the amount from last year and he’s going to source a cheaper quote the cheek of it.angry

Nothing planned for today a real quiet day perhaps with me doing some grazing. cupcake
Virtual hugs everyone enjoy today

GrannyGravy13 Sat 04-Sept-21 08:29:34

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. It's warm and dry though. The sun came out late yesterday, maybe the same today.
No plans this weekend.
I am still behind with laundry after being away last weekend and the water being off on Wednesday. Should get through it today.
I'm also planning longer daily walks now the autumn is here and will go to the free Eco Festival in the park for a mooch.
Love to all x
