Good Morning Everyone,
Its just twilight here in brackley this morning, but its dry.
Nothing planned apart from watching the second stage of the Tour of Britain as it goes from close to Plymouth to Exeter, meandering its way through South Devon , live on ITV4 .
Apart from some housework an easy day.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick morning all from South Lanarkshire. I’m not sure what the weather is doing as I haven’t looked outside.

Yesterday we had a gorgeous warm sunny afternoon, I sat in the garden reading my book.

An unexpected childminding day for us, just the two year old but if we’re lucky and DD is out all day we may also get to collect his sisters from their school bus. It’s been a while since we were needed to do the after school pick up.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ?

Greyduster Mon 06-Sept-21 07:06:59

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. We have grey skies back in South Yorkshire after a lovely day yesterday. We had a nice Sunday lunch out at a country pub with DD, SiL and GS - my goodness that boy can put food away! We are awaiting the early arrival of the decorator this morning to give the woodwork a final coat and then we shall bid them a fond ?farewell! He’s not going to be pleased as I have spotted something that needs putting right and it’s one of those things that once you know it’s there your eye will always go straight to it!
A welcome to any newcomers today and commiserations to anyone struggling. Have the best day you can.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another warm, dry day here.
We have a decorator coming today too, Greyduster. Hopefully to paint the back of the house in the right colour this time. We wanted a change he thought we wanted the same and DH who was 'supervising' the first coat didn't put him right.
Love to all x

Scentia Mon 06-Sept-21 07:21:23

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it will be a good day☀️
Back to work today to see what mess awaits me in the office and kitchen as DH has been ultra busy and will not have bothered with these?
Had a lovely day shopping with DD and DGC yesterday, DGS is a real fussy eater but downed a plate of chilli fried squid?. I am vegan, so was looking forward to their new vegan menu at Wagamama and it didn’t disappoint.
I spent too much money but bought DD the most amazing denim jumpsuit and she looked amazing just 3 months after giving birth.❤️
Take care everyone and stay safe ❤️

Morning Mick, morning All from a very misty corner of Somerset.

A busy family day yesterday, loved every moment, went to bed exhausted then woke at 2am and couldn’t go back to sleep. How foolish is that? Blood letting and covid test for me then back home to faff around

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. We have blue skies again. Oh it makes such a difference to see it after the many recent grey days.
Yesterday Mr GD and I went to a retail park near to Doncaster as he needed a few things which was a success. I also bought 2 tops, a thin cardigan type jacket and some jeans. Had a lovely lunch at a pub nearby so no cooking for me.
Today I am going out with Dil and dgs as it’s his last day before school starts tomorrow. I think we are heading to soft play followed by lunch. After spending an unexpected day with him on Friday which was a delight I could do with a housework day but that can wait.
Later I must remember to watch the US open on tv. As it doesn’t start until teatime for us in the UK I forgot about it and missed seeing Emma Raducanus win. She plays again today.
Have a good day everyone. Take care.

Good morning from a bright and promising sunny south Cornwall. Fun watching the cycle race go through some of my favourite parts of the county yesterday Mick. Lots of hills, mist and mizzle. Today I'm collecting three lamps from Argos and buying ground almonds to make soft amaretti biscuits for my daughter in Liverpool. I'll send her a tinful. Yum. Have the best day you can everyone.

harrigran Mon 06-Sept-21 07:29:52

Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
We had a sunny day yesterday and I managed a short time in the garden tidying the patio baskets and pots.
My sister in Germany Skyped and we talked for an hour and a half, she has a busy life for an 80 year old but still feels let down because she has been unable to travel to the UK.
DD sent a photograph of our family lunch and an emotional message, she is on the train to London today and then the train to Brussels. SIL is staying in the UK for the time being so we have help available in an emergency.
Watching Vera last night was traumatic, half way through the programme a spider ran across the carpet, it was so large I thought I had spotted a mouse in my peripheral vision. Luckily we had a vacuum spider catcher and was able to arrest it. You know it is autumn when they start coming indoors.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from Severnside. I can’t see the hill in the distance so I am expecting a warm day.

I’ve had a very strange dream and feel a little disturbed by it as it stirred up emotions.

I’ve been home all weekend so will probably go out somewhere today not sure where at the moment.

Take care all ?

Urmstongran Mon 06-Sept-21 07:32:28

Sun’s up! ? Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have a forecast of 30°C, sunny and a gentle breeze today. No wonder the weather isn’t a topic of conversation over here!

Beach today for us ⛱ or a wander around Arroyo. I want to get some photos printed off. I’m making a montage from photos of family this summer, friends over the past years, LWW buddies and some of my favourite views. I don’t have enough wall space to put up a huge frame unless I take other stuff down - so I’ve started sticking them onto the wardrobe doors and I’m pleased with how promising it looks. Nowt posh here!

Our Boy Wonder and L’il Miss will be getting ready for school back at home. I’ve ordered slices of cake to be delivered today for them with a ‘back to school’ card from grandma. I don’t bake but I know a great company wot does! Chocolate for one and strawberry buttercream and white chocolate drizzle for the other.

Time for my second cuppa ☕️ enjoy Monday all who can. x

kittylester Mon 06-Sept-21 07:39:03

Morning all from the Cotswolds where the sun is burning off the mist.

Big day today: our friend Phoenix will be laid to rest, my brother's heart op might happen (!!) and it is the anniversary of the massive stroke that changed DS1's life.

Urmstongran Mon 06-Sept-21 07:39:17

Montage? Think I meant collage ... duh.

Hi to you Alizarin! ? I didn’t recall you at first but only because you changed your colour before you left for a while! I remember you better as MY
?

ginny Mon 06-Sept-21 07:42:50

Good morning. After the very pleasant weather yesterday I’m hoping for more of the same today.
I am braving a trip to the ‘big’ shops today. I need some new baking tins. DGS 2 &3 are growing so quickly so I shall enjoy looking for a couple of outfits for them. Luckily I know what DD will like. I may have a look around some other shops but that depends how busy it is.
This week will be busy as 3 of the clubs I attend are starting up again. I have to admit that I am a little apprehensive but safety measures will be in place.
Wishing you all a smile in your day

Daisytwoshoes Mon 06-Sept-21 07:46:49

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s a bright start and forecast to be another beautiful sunny day. Yesterday was gorgeous and we all enjoyed a picnic lunch and a bbq later in the evening
Youngest DGS doesn’t start school until Thursday this week so I’m here for a few more days yet. Today I think we’re going to the local garden centre and maybe the splash park. Sending best wishes to all little ones starting school this week!

How lovely to treat your DD Scentia - just what mums do! And you too Urms I’m sure the cake will go down very well!

Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Alizarin Mon 06-Sept-21 07:47:37

Thank you Urms. I won't be changing colour again. ?

Gingster Mon 06-Sept-21 07:59:01

Good morning from a beautiful autumn morning here on the Suffolk coast. The sun is shimmering on the sea and there are spiders webs all a sparkle over the gorse bushes. ‘Oh to be in England, now that Septembers there! Just love autumn! ????.

We had a lovely memorial afternoon tea for my dear sister in law yesterday. A gorgeous day and a splendid venue. I had thought (to myself) if her brother asks if I would like a memento of ‘Dee’ , I would like a little sleeping budda that she bought while I was with her , a few years ago. We both loved it and got a little discount as it had a chip on the bottom. Well - as I arrived there it was with my name in it. How lovely! (More tears).

We will return to Essex today after cleaning the cottage and making up beds (AGAIN!) , as DS1 and family are arriving for the weekend. His MIL is joining them and she is lovely but a bit if a ‘clean freak’. Oh dear!

Don’t over do it at work today Scentia. Are you feeling back to normal, energy-wise? Chilly fried squid? Wow!

Alizirin amaretti biscuits! Yum!

Hoping all goes well for the funeral of Phoenix today ?.

Wishing you all a beautiful day. ?

Gingster Mon 06-Sept-21 08:01:12

My sleeping budda

Scentia Mon 06-Sept-21 08:01:15

Gingster. I feel well but shopping literally exhausted me yesterday so I skipped my swim this morning and I decided I will take this week slowly as I don’t want to end up with long Covid.x

Grandmajean Mon 06-Sept-21 08:03:53

Good morning Gransnetters.
It sounds from the few posts I've seen that some of you have enjoyed getting out and about again over the weekend ? Lovely to have a bit more freedom !
I had a strange dream last night, too Beechnut It involved Gransnet and I am pretty sure I know why as have been pondering over a few things.
Trip to vet with ? today which I'm hoping might coincide with Morrison's delivery ! Only fair, really, if I take ? then DH puts away the shopping.
Sending thoughts to all who are worried or not feeling great.

monk08 Mon 06-Sept-21 08:04:47

Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country. Looks like another nice day here yesterday turned out really hot.
Not much planned for today DH will be catching up on his admin after yesterday's fishing contest being the secretary there is always results and winnings to sort out. So I shall probably take my book and sit in the garden.
Enjoy your day whatever it brings and may you all find some ?

Mapleleaf Mon 06-Sept-21 08:06:41

Good morning,

We’ve had some early rain here in South Yorkshire, but it’s stopped now and the forecast is for a warm day - we’ll see, as the sky, though brightening a bit, is still quite grey. We had a pleasantly warm day yesterday, which was a treat after the previous week of miserable grey weather.

Venturing into the local town today as there are a couple of jobs to be done, then home to some ironing and further washing. Such excitement, eh ?

Wishing you all the best for today. Take care.

BlueSapphire Mon 06-Sept-21 08:10:44

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ? Northampton. Up, showered and dressed already this morning as I have to be ready for my lift to yoga by 9am. Any sound of joints creaking will be mine!

Spent an hour pruning the Apple tree and a large shrub yesterday afternoon, then sat in the sun till nearly 6pm with my new book, which I can't wait to get back to. Looking forward to sitting outside again today.

Hoping all have a nice day in the sunshine.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 06-Sept-21 08:10:51

Good morning all from grey Harrogate
Yesterday’s plans all changed. We were asked to do lateral flow tests then DD2 brought round DGS for the morning he had lunch with us, then it was round to DD1 for a birthday meal for DH. A very enjoyable day!! DGS had managed to throw a frisbee up a tree so DSIL used a ladder to climb into the tree to retrieve it
Today I shall have a chat to my school friend, though I’m hoping I shall hear that my new dishwasher Is arriving. Incarceration is one thing but having to wash the dishes that is something else altogether!!
Have a good day folks
