Today sees the start of the annual chatter fair in the town, later I will travel on the bus to Bicester , before returning home to watch the cycle tour of Britain in Cheshire on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning from Severnside. It’s very warm already.

What’s a chatter fair Mick? That’s a new one on me, but there is still a lot I don’t know ?

I’m going to the hairdressers and doing admin stuff this morning. I had a chat with Beechnutella last night. She starts a new job today.

Have a good day all and good luck for you cornergran ?

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire

Looking after DS’s little ones later, soft play booked as the fine weather is forecast to come to an abrupt end.

DD is doing lateral flow tests on her brood daily as they all have positive cases in their classrooms. It’ll be a miracle if they all continue to be uninflected.

So much sadness on Gnet recently, my heart goes out to gM and all who have suffered bereavement.

As always I wish everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country. Rain overnight but still very muggy.
Well yesterday on my birthday woke up to no hot water so all plans for the day changed. Did get it sorted it was the pump but we may need a new boiler, have got them coming today to quote. No rush though we are on breakdown contract.
One of my presents from DH was an adoption of a flamingo at our local zoo he's called Pinky. I had to explain to Dgs that he wouldn't be living at my house but we could visit him soon.
Finished the day off with a carvery.
Meeting friends this evening at the club.
Thoughts with missing posters ?
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?.

Lizzie72 Thu 09-Sept-21 06:52:01

I think it’s a charter fair, Beechnut

Alizarin Thu 09-Sept-21 06:57:04

Good morning from south Cornwall where mist and rain are forecast. My 11 year old grandson started Big School yesterday and the first thing they did was line up for a Covid test. Across the road to Wetherspoons for breakast methinks, then a bus to the beach to take the air. The best of days to you, though I know that's not possible for some. thanks

NanKate Thu 09-Sept-21 07:20:14

Good morning Mick and All.

A grey day here in South Bucks such a contrast from the wall to wall sunshine.

How lovely Alizarin just being able to pop to the beach. I could go down to the Thames but that is not quite the same thing.

Thinking of grandMattie today, what a sad time for her and her family. ?

brook2704 Thu 09-Sept-21 07:27:10

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where there’s been overnight rain but still very warm
I’m travelling back home to Inverness today after a lovely time here at DD1 house but I’ll be pleased to get back and see what DH has been up to ?
Happy Birthday for yesterday monk I think your adopted flamingo is a lovely present
Thinking of everyone feeling sadness today, take care all whatever the day brings ?

dragonfly46 Thu 09-Sept-21 07:28:05

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire. I think we may miss the rain which is a shame as the garden needs it.

Echocardiagram this morning then NWR this afternoon. I have to think of three facts about something beginning with B and something beginning with W.

Hope it goes well for you today Corner and happy belated birthday monk.

I too spent the day thinking about grandMattie.

Pittcity Thu 09-Sept-21 07:30:51

Good morning from Colchester where it has rained overnight and everything smells fresher than of late. A muggy day in the offing.
Housework and shopping with Jay's online pub quiz to look forward to. The family team up online and compete against each other.

Thinking of all of you especially Grandmattie x

GrannyGravy13 Thu 09-Sept-21 07:37:29

Morning Mick and all

It’s grey, warm and we have had rain overnight.

Happy Birthday for yesterday monk08 ??

Off to hairdressers at lunch time for a full head of low/high lights and I am also having a conditioning treatment. Beforehand I intend to use my new iron, the pike is getting to Everest proportions.

It would be lovely to see Marydoll or Grandmafrench posting here, their posts made me smile. EV crumpet Queen is also missed, along with Gillybob

grabdMattie thinking of you ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Gingster Thu 09-Sept-21 07:41:49

Good morning all and it’s a very grey start to the day here in Essex.

Yes, grans - I think all our thoughts were on GranMattie yesterday. Love to her and her family ?

As GG said ‘let’s keep our loved ones a little closer* ❤️

Yesterday eldest GD came for lunch. It was so lovely to see her as she’s home from Uni but has been busy travelling around Scotland with friends and also trying to catch up with her driving lessons. She’s had her test postponed 3 times now, through no fault of hers. She’ll be back to Uni in a couple of weeks , so the lessons will stop again. Her year has been totally disrupted in every way!

I had dinner with my ‘lovely girl’ last evening . I looked after her and her two brothers for 10 years after her mother died aged 36. She’s now expecting in 3 weeks time so this will be our ‘last supper’ before she becomes a mum.

Today I’m going with a friend to see Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical ‘Cinderella’. Lateral flow test and proof that we’re negative. . What a faff! Hopefully all goes well with coach and theatre. I’m a little anxious. ?

????

harrigran Thu 09-Sept-21 07:44:58

Good morning from a grey NE, no rain yet but storms are forecast.
Youngest GD started year 7 yesterday while her elder sister enjoyed her birthday by having lunch out with her Mum. Eldest GD joins her sister at school today, one of her friends has covid and probably won't be there.
DH's hospital appointment did not go well, his blood count was not good enough to allow his chemotherapy to go ahead today.
Morrisons delivery this morning, email says that quite a few things are missing, thank goodness SIL is happy to shop for me, he has been a great help.
Have the best day you can.

Grandmajean Thu 09-Sept-21 07:45:24

Good morning from Cheshire.
I , too , spent a lot of yesterday thinking about GrandMattie Losing a child has got to be the worst tragedy a family can suffer. I hope she knows we are all sending our deepest sympathy.
The weather is supposed to break today. It has been lovely to have high temperatures this late in the year.

Urmstongran Thu 09-Sept-21 07:49:12

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have a forecast of 33°C today, sunny with a moderate wind.

I’m sure most of us spent the day ruminating over granMattie’s tragic news yesterday. I know I did.

On a brighter note, we spent the day at the beach yesterday ⛱ then ate a delicious meal on the marina at the Metro Bar. Himself enjoyed seafood linguine - he loves seafood and I don’t so anything ‘with shells’ is such a pleasure for him when eating out!

We discussed extending our stay to use up our full 90 day allowance. The weather here is gorgeous especially now the August fiery sun has gone. Once back up in a taxi, we enjoyed G&T’s in Pedro’s bar and changed our flights (at no extra cost, not even an admin charge with Mr O’Leary - that’s a first and shows the deals that are out there right now trying to entice customers) and the date for our rapid antigen tests. The more we thought about it we just didn’t fancy all this extra malarkey when flying now for a week at the end of November. Happy bunnies this morning!

Belated happy returns of the day to you monk.

Enjoy Thursday - all who can. x

Grandmadinosaur Thu 09-Sept-21 07:55:03

Good morning. It’s been raining overnight but still warm here in East Yorkshire.

We made the last of the sunny days promised yesterday by going to the coast for the day. Stopped enroute for morning coffee and discovered a nice little place with play area, views, ice cream parlour and toilets. One to visit again for sure. Enjoyed fish and chips once at the coast. I asked for the pensioner special DH the normal size. When it arrived there was little difference in the size!
In the evening I watched the tennis from New York and another amazing performance from Emma Raducanu and she’s through to the semi finals. Exciting stuff.

Today I’m catching up with housework, need to have a walk and drop a birthday present off then we are collecting dgs from school. On his first day he couldn’t remember what he had done but knew what he had for lunch ?

Safe journey home brook2704

Belated happy birthday to monk
Thinking of Grandmattie couldn’t stop thinking about the sad news yesterday

Take care all.

Beechnut Thu 09-Sept-21 08:01:18

Happy belated Birthday monk??

Thank you Lizzie72. I’d like to say it was too early for me to think of that! The truth is I’m a a bit dim ?

Sar53 Thu 09-Sept-21 08:08:45

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is trying to shine. We did have some rain overnight.
Shopping this morning and a hospital appointment this afternoon.
DD2 saw the plastic surgeon, who did her surgery for Melanoma in January, and he is very pleased with her recovery. He says the scarring will fade even more over the next year. My beautiful daughter.
I too spent time thinking of Grandmattie yesterday.
Have the best Thursday possible and hold your loved ones close ❤ xx

ginny Thu 09-Sept-21 08:17:38

Good morning all. Overcast skies are back in N. Bucks today.

It was lovely to be back at our craft club yesterday, lots of chatty catching up and a decoupage card made.

Some house jobs to do this morning and tidying in my craft room . Later I am looking after DGS3 whilst his mummy has a hair appointment. I am popping in to see a friend who has been looking forward to meeting him.

Thoughts with all who are sad but hoping there will be something to smile about in everyone’s day.

Annapops Thu 09-Sept-21 08:18:33

Good morning from a dreary Durham, such a difference from yesterday. We spent the whole day at the beach although there was much more of a warm breeze on the coast. It was so relaxing just sitting, watching other GP's entertain their GC for a change. Normally we would have been doing the same but as all GC are now at school things have changed. I'm sure we'll still have school holiday duty in the future, so not quite redundant yet.

My sister plans to visit today but as the weather isn't too good there maybe a change of plan.

Such sadness here yesterday. thanks for gM.

BlueSapphire Thu 09-Sept-21 08:19:07

Good morning everyone from a grey overcast Northampton. Still feels quite warm though when I went to put the bins out.

Had a good outing to town yesterday on the bus - but hardly any passengers wearing a mask. Shall continue to wear mine, and will just have to learn to live with it I suppose. A successful visit to the bank, very strict Covid regulations with staff on the door restricting customers, returned two dresses to Next, and also popped into Smiths for an anniversary card for DD and her husband - 9 years they've been married, where has the time gone?

A short visit to the Well-being cafe in the afternoon (scrummy cake), then sat and read in the garden.

A Sainsbury's delivery this morning, then catch up with a bit of housework. Health walk this evening followed by a meal and wine at the pub.

Still thinking about grandMattie's devastating news; thoughts are with her and her family.

Take care everyone.

Stilllearning Thu 09-Sept-21 08:20:49

Good morning from East Ren. Where I stayed over after my DD accompanied me to a hospital appointment which I thought was a pre op discussion prior to having a cataract removed. I thought it had regrown after being first removed many years ago.
Turned out it was the artificial lens which was inserted then which had ‘wrinkled’ and needed to be refixed. It was done easily and painlessly and today it’s like a miracle, I can see so much better.

My condolences to Marydoll on the sudden loss of your friend, I will remember you and her family.

Good decision Urmstongran, I think our summer is departing!

Wishing everyone the best day possible at this sad time.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 09-Sept-21 08:24:20

Good morning all from grey Harrogate
Sorry to hear about your friend marydoll it was indeed a sad day yesterday
Today it is a Sainsburies delivery this am, then a U3A meeting then the hairdresser. This evening it will be a zoom meeting with my ?‍♀️ sisters!!
Sad to see the beautiful weather disappearing. Will need to find out when my new dishwasher is arriving, cause DH has forgotten they don’t do themselves these days.

Have a good day folks

Anniebach Thu 09-Sept-21 08:37:44

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from a very tired granny here on the east coast of Fife where it feels quite warm. What a night we had it was boiling hot even with the windows wide open and the fan going. I was awake early on feeling better than I did the day before.

My mind was racing about certain things irrelevant to getting well. However I decided to cease this nonsense, it’s out of my hands now. I’ll leave it there. I’m off this morning to the local community group where I’ve put my name down to attend every Thursday. There’s lots of old acquaintances there to chat to and have a coffee with they are also helpful in bringing my coffee to where I’ll be sitting as I’m unable to propel myself. Thank heavens for good folks.

Afterwards my dh is taking me to buy a pair of shoes which I need for transferring myself to the ladies room through the night. my old shoes have done well but in need of chucking out now they stink to high do blushand no amount of cleansing foam makes a difference.

Have a good day all, be kind to yourselvesflowers and others if you get the chance.smile
