Good morning, everyone, from a warm corner of la Sarthe.

Firstly and most importantly, grandMattie wishes to express her gratitude to everyone on here for their kind words. She says that the support from the Grammingoes is very precious to them all. ?

Today, at last, we see the GP for olddudders to discuss the results of the scans, undertaken more than three weeks ago. His GP is Spanish, so it will be an interesting conversation between two people for whom French is a second language. Finding doctors to work in rural areas is difficult here and when this particular one took up her post, it was such an event that it featured on local TV apparently!

Thinking of those in pain or facing difficult times. ?

I have an unexpected day off as the charity shop is closed due to illness so I’ve no idea what today will bring.

You and olddudders should be wiser by the end of the day Ash. Not altogether sure whether our friend was pulling our leg when he told us about his hospital stay that he had mentioned his vasectomy to an overseas doctor the doctor asked him what it was!

Weekly shopping and pottering today.

Morning Mick, morning All from my hospital corner. Cloudy sky.

All sorted yesterday, consultant assured me the outcome was excellent. Last on the list it was a long, hungry day and too late to mobilise which will be after breakfast today. Did I sleep? Of course not. Hospitals aren’t for sleeping. . Observations every two hours, lights on, trolleys banging and inflatable thingies (no idea what they are allied) on one foot and the other leg. One inflates every 11 seconds, the other every 25 seconds with much associated groaning and thumping. Cannula came out so my white sheet is decorated with a pretty red pattern. All normal really. . Staff are great, food is good, overall I’m as happy as anyone can be and seriously looking forward to being upright. Thank you all for your positive thoughts, I’m sure they helped.

Hope there is a positive consultation today ash, thank you for passing in grandmatties message.

I too have had a message from Granmattie, asking me also to pass on her thanks for all the kindness shown to her on here. She has been in my thoughts constantly.

Hoping that Corner is recovering well and had a restful night after her op, that OD manages to get some help from the doctor and that all went well with your echocardiogram Dragonfly.

Thank you for all your condolences on the death of my friend. This is the third death within a couple of weeks of people I know, one whose funeral is today. Frankly these deaths, have taken the feet from me, but I realise that as we get older, it is to be expected, as we become more aware of our own mortality. It has resulted in a great deal of reflection on my part.

Ash I do hope the appointment goes well for OD and nothing gets lost in translation ?
Mary it certainly makes you realise that we are all getting on, we too have had 3 deaths in 4 weeks, needless to say, I am on a new health drive.
Off to work shortly and then tonight I am off to the cinema to see Respect with DD her first night out alone since having the baby. We are going for it, popcorn, sweets, the lot. (Only after then, will my health drive start!)
I have parcels at Next I need to pick up with clothes to complete my new look, I have purchased jewellery, make up and perfume too. If you knew what I actually looked like you won’t recognise me on Monday folks?

Good morning from an overcast Leicestershire.

The echo was okay yesterday but he wouldn’t tell me anything except that the results would go instantly to my oncologist and heart specialist. It was done by a private company so goodness knows how much that will cost the NHS.

Meeting this morning then a walk with a friend this afternoon if it stays dry.

Yes Marydoll we too have lost really close friends recently. It is very sobering.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another gorgeous sunny day. We have a forecast of 34°C with a light breeze. I’m enjoying my first cuppa of the day on our balcony. It’s so peaceful. Himself is still snoozing and why not? Getting up only when you’ve had enough sleep is one of the true pleasures about retirement.

The Mediterranean is a deep cobalt blue this morning and it’s sparking in the morning sunshine.

A day in the gardens I think. We went up into Arroyo yesterday and booked our appointments for rapid antigen tests, mandatory for flights nowadays, at a local farmacia. €40 each, result in 20 minutes apparently. Some people are making a lot of money out of these regulations aren’t they?

We came home after a tapas lunch and I read my latest novel on Kindle ‘The Plot’. It races along and is highly readable! I took this photo yesterday at 1pm. September is always quieter but there are definitely fewer tourists this year.

Good morning all from what’s felt like a warm night. Wish I had put the fan on. Too late now it’s time to waken up before himself starts to faff about. Yesterday was a brilliant day for me where I went to the local community group meeting up with old friends I even booked my Christmas lunch hey ho and chose the usual from a lovely menu.

I managed to do my accounts for social work My new shoes were of great benefit for during the night bye bye auld yins.

I’m very annoyed at the hotel which paid us back from the recent debacle to see they’ve removed same once more from our bank eh no way

I’ve ordered a great bargain off Lidl for 12 miniature bottles of Asti Spumante my carers will get one each for their Christmas ?

My Blissy order has gone astray but I’m going to get the order replaced say they. That’ll be all my Christmas presses purchased no more now, after all, what else can I get up to lying in bed all day?

Sobering posts on Gransnet. I think the unbearable situation ( and I don't use those words lightly ) that GrandMattie and her family find themselves in has given us all food for thought. I am glad she knows how much we care.

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s another fresh morning in Suffolk with plenty of blue sky but there are definite hints of autumn. There’s a robin singing outside the window.
DD’s dog and I are off to meet DS’s dogs at a dog play park so that they can run off the lead. It will do her good and save me a long walk. I ache all over from last night’s effort, which was longer than I meant!
DH made three garden obelisks yesterday and we painted two. He assures me he used a spirit level … Let’s just say they a a bit quirky! Once they are covered in climbers, no one will know ?.
Sending love to the post ops, poorlies and those in pain and especially to the grieving.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Morning from S Lanarkshire where the sky is lovely and blue just now. I’m still enjoying and deeply appreciative of my improved vision after my eye procedure.

Hope your husband’s appointment goes well Ashcombe with all it’s extra language challenges.

Today I’m hoping to spend time with my daughter who moved to the next village earlier in the summer. She is coming for a meal and ‘sleepover’ this evening and I’m looking forward to it very much. A series of events have stopped us seeing as much of each other as we are used to, so tonight will be special.

Yesterday I didn’t sign off with my customary two flamingos, they are so associated here with grandMattie that it just felt strange and not quite right. However after thinking about it I’m going to continue but add an extra one which I hope will tell her, should she read, that I’m sending her and her family a daily prayer.

Tomorrow we are off to Llandudno. I’m apologising in advance if my posting is even more spasmodic during the week we are there. I am so looking forward our visit there. It’s a town I know quite well, my Nain (grandmother) used to run a guest house there.
My DDs are supervising the installation of my new dishwasher while we are there
I like the idea of being a ‘new’ woman Scentia. A bit late for me!!

Good morning from an overcast NE.
It was very foggy during the night but we did not get any of the storms that were round and about.
Palliative nurse turned up yesterday afternoon and had a chat with DH, they are getting better at attending since I voiced my disappointment st the level of care.
I have a medical supplies delivery this morning and waiting to hear from SIL as to when he will bring my Aldi shopping.
