Nannagarra ??? She had the cheek to tell my lovely dd who organised it that my brother would come up for a selection of the goodies. Apparently she's unwell as she's taking a new vitamin tablet.

Soop`s cosy kitchen for sincere and pleasant peoples
(1001 Posts)Well, this kitchen is lovely, I love the cool decor and colourful rugs.
I think I should have typed www.westwoodlakes.co.uk as the other doesn`t seem to work.
How lovely and quickly these welcoming kitchens are filled ?
Ridiculous really, but washing, watering and cooking a meal are tiring after a few days away, I slept for eight straight hours last night back in our bed, think I’ll be the same tonight. I’m determined to walk more after so much on holiday, it did me good.
Need to get one more family bbq in before winter, my next project!
Sleep well you lovely people x
Your mother’s a caution, Grandmabatty! ???
So much to catch up on!
I daren’t try to name too many individuals as I’m bound to miss someone and that always seems so hurtful, but I am very encouraged by what you have to report Soop - it would make all the difference.
And Baggs warmest wishes to your D for a speedy and complete recovery. There’s not one of us who would not willingly swap places with our child if we could.
I am back from first cuddles with my adorable little 3 day old grandson.
D was very emotional and tearful, he cried all last night and her milk has not really come in yet but she and SIL are doing a wonderful job -SIL especially taking their lively two year old out and about to keep him entertained to give Mum a break.
We can all remember those early days can’t we? Fortunately mine were spent still in hospital for all 3 babies but it was still a shock when we got home.
TOYA
Awww such happy special times for you maw with first cuddles but so tiring for your DD - hoping he settles a bit better tonight
Good Evening lovely Kitchen peeps!
Another glorious day weather-wise has come to an end. The day started with tea in bed and a story which involved an anxious dog and a DH who just couldn't settle - due to said anxious dog. DH was preparing breakfast for two dogs. He can "Buttle" almost as well as Corner's DH when waiting on our dear dogs. There is rice to serve, fresh vegetables and a weighed out portion of cooked turkey or chicken. I sometimes think it should come on trays with table napkins and maybe a small glass of something......I'm joking, but he couldn't love them more (and definitely not more than me!). Chloe, the not so bold because she had a rotten start in life and was rescued, kept leaping off her couch and running out into the kitchen. DH investigates, returns to kitchen. Happens again, this time accompanied by a noise. Nothing to see. Chloe then skids into kitchen again accompanied by a really loud noise. DH goes into living room to find a very irritated Starling in the Woodburner and Ludo (not at all anxious) sitting on their couch with a raised eyebrow all a'quiver and dying to investigate. So, DH then has to lift all the blinds, open all the windows and doors, distract Ludo our smaller dog, allow Chloe to run off and hide before he opens the door in the fireplace and lets the bird fly out and away.
Of course all I wanted to hear was that a possibly sooty bird, which had managed to tumble down our chimney, didn't collide with anything and leave a trail of items which would need cleaning first thing on a Saturday morning. The news was good. I was able to drink my morning tea in peace.
A big hello to Nannagarra, I bet I've missed the strawberries - you've no idea how they we devour the goodies that kind folks leave in this Kitchen. But you soon will. Urms you've turned into such a social butterfly, those fuchsia sandals must be getting a real workout this holiday. Of course, I still picture you sitting in your apartment, banned from contact with the outside world, unable to travel back to the UK, unable to have any proper life at all for months on end, saved by your books and finding some time to cheer your anxious neighbour - with an extra meal on a plate and a distant G&T. Seems like only yesterday that life was pretty grim. Hope these last dog days of summer are giving you real pleasure and meeting up with old friends will store up some good memories until you are allowed back to Spain again.
Brook away for some marvellous walking again? I do envy you - and for the views. Enjoy it all. Hope you eventually woke up, Blossoming - well, in time for a good lunch anyway. Did you just pop out and glance at that hydrangea, Tilly or was digging in operation? I'm not placing any bets......
Did you manage a reasonably sedate pace in your bit of paradise today, Muse. No broken backs, I trust.
I liked the photo of the Family Baggs on Tour, hope she settles in your new abode and I'm wishing hard for a good recovery for your other DD. All good wishes and everything crossed. Same for your DiL dragon - no more sadness required in this Kitchen for the longest of times. Trust that the Divine Miss M brought you both lots of cheer today, Susan. It's wonderful the way small children can do that, isn't it.
Hello Doodle from me and, of course, French France. Still waiting for your luxury liner to anchor off the beach here. Maybe you're still having problems with the Owl and the Cat at Customs. Hellogirl really hope you're fit and well, family too. I recall that GG is around somewhere - a hug to you.
Has there been news of Galen at all ? I always think of her when someone mentions cake. We need extra supplies in the Kitchen, Galen, lots of new posters, so if you have some spare time. Please?
Are you less tired, JJ ? Glad you enjoyed yourselves. Lots of ?♀️ to YiaYia, a weary but happy Corner, Blade and Dogs. And a great big welcome for dear Gingster - who is hopefully baking for the Kitchen, as I speak!
Cake is also needed for little Logan's best chum, GrandmaBatty. I'm wishing you such a happy time with your family tomorrow, GrandmaB. I have my own idea as to why your reluctant guest has decided to go under the radar, not attend the lovely gathering and celebrate her dear Daughter's birthday, BUT want to send a minion for supplies of delicious food. Well she certainly couldn't contemplate missing out on the FOOD now, could she? ?. Still you won't have a representative from the Michelin Guide giving her critique of the tea, the goodies, the presents or the waiter service, so that's going to be a small plus point. Sometimes old Mums are just really weird - what am I saying, I am one!!!!!!
Have a wonderful Birthday! Sending you lots of birthday hugs - and wishes for good health and happiness. x
Gorgeous sunset, soop. Amazingly wonderful news for you - and some hope at long last. Just go for it, as Grandmajean said. Life is for living and you've so much in your life to enjoy.
Speaking of enjoying life - you've finally found out that Miss Fern, aka Sweetie Pie, is actually a Mr. Well, that's a surprise -but maybe not. He's awfully pretty, but on the other hand he is a real little piggy for the food. And all that disappearing for days on end and looking like he's starved, must mean that he's off chasing the ladies. And if he really didn't belong to someone, it would be likely that 'he' would have produced a litter of kittens by now. Didn't he bring a young lady home at one stage? Problem is that whilst he is in full possession of his Manly Bits, he will continue to wander and may even be at risk as he fights for territory or the prettiest girls in town. In my experience of owning cats (and I have to whisper this because I only have two cats now, both female) it's the boys that are the most loving and most friendly. So, I think once he has been relieved of his 'responsibilities', so to speak, he'll settle down with you, stop the wandering and will be the fabulous, confident house cat that will share your chair in the winter. It's so nice that he's still around and he couldn't wish for a better establishment in which to get his paws under the table. Good luck with him, he'll always be your Sweetie Pie.
I'm wishing you all a restful and peaceful night, with good weather and good times for tomorrow. Bye all, take special care of yourselves.
Hugs ????
Grandmafrench you are a lovely lady. Thank you for your good wishes x
Just scraping into the new kitchen before Saturday midnight! It’s been a busy few days. No cake here but I’ve brought all the biscuits that I had for my book group meeting. I always over-cater for events.
Soop that sounds to be a step on the right road, though why should you have to resort to paying? Have you contacted your MSP about the delays you’ve experienced? You might find yourself suddenly boosted up the NHS list.
Baggs, what an ordeal for your daughter and indeed all of your family. I hope she is soon well on the way to recovery.
Over the past two days I’ve helped dd1 sort things out in her house ready for the new baby. Going through the 3yo’s outgrown clothes, sorting through her baby books and putting all her others into a smart new and bigger bookcase. She now has some of her mum’s old books, such as the set of Madeleine books she loved and all her Beatrix Potters. 3yo, upon seeing her new shelving declared she now has a library!
I’ve kept GD amused inc bathing and hair washing while her mum worked. I confess I resorted to a bribe of watching tv so she’d let me brush out her hair. It’s waist length now so there’s a lot to brush. We’ve eaten out a couple of times, although I was denied the cake I was promised yesterday! Isn’t that just shocking?
Today i had time to myself and managed an unaccompanied visit to M&S and Aldi, which was bliss. Dare I say, I bought some bits to put away for Xmas.
I drove home late this afternoon, with my car strangely loaded up with items my dd decided I could take to charity shops.
I saw a bizarre sight on the way home. I use a route over a mountain pass and near the top I spotted a person, who looked like a motorcyclist, waving at me. I thought he was indicating there had been an accident but when I got closer, he was in fact hitching a lift. Obviously I wasn’t going to stop, but I was bemused to see that he was standing by loads - and I mean loads - of white bin bags, which I guessed had been fly-tipped. It seemed a long way to go to fly tip but there we are.
My Dh was travelling behind me in his car (for reasons too long to explain!) and when we got home I asked him if he’d noticed the motorcyclist hitchhiker. Yes, he had, but it wasn’t a motorcyclist. It was someone who’d been paragliding and must have come down in the wrong place and was trying to get a lift back up to the top. That’s what the white ‘bin bags’ were - his paraglider all bundled up!
So, to bed now, where I will probably sleep like a log, as I usually do after looking after GD. Xx
I've finally got back and sorry but I failed Grandmafrench
Muse Mansion has been busy too Kittylester. Glad you escaped from Lester Lodge for a break to pop into the kitchen. Our steady pace of work quickened up when the rain stopped. Anyway, finally made it, and before I collapse into a squishy chair, here's some flasks of horlicks, hot chocolate and hot toddies for everyone. They'll keep till tomorrow night. So much healthy food in the kitchen today. Just having the strawberries Nannagarra with the bubbly I left last night.
No offence taken Dogsmakemesmile. I enjoy all posts in their wide and wonderful forms they take.
Build news: Tarmac quotes today and more slab coverage.
Gardening news: Starting to clear polytunnel out. Sweet corn was a total failure.
DD news: After her two 111 calls last week and various tests, she left hospital on Thursday with a clean bill of health. She saw the same trauma doctor and the conversation got round to the HRT she has been on for two weeks. She suggested DD stopped taking it but saw the doctor as soon as possibe. Following morning before DD could ring the surgery, they rang for her to come in. The doctor, who fortunately, appears to be very knowledgeable about HRT has now changed her prescription and booked her in for a full check up in a couple of weeks. DD sounded very cheerful and relieved the tests were all so positive. I could imagine her panic to suddenly have pain in her arm and loose the use of it. Thank you for the thoughts about her. ?
DS news: I'm hoping for a call tomorrow.
Just picked some more of my beef tomatoes today, Nannytopsy and Susan56. Sourdough toast for me too. Sorry about your toms Jax. They were really motoring along too but chutney sounds good.
? MrSoop. Isn't it good to be able to talk to someone with the same problem. I'm with Grandmafrench and Grandmajean on this soop.
It sounds like Grandmabattysenior needs those vitamins changed. Happy pills? Birthday wishes for tomorrow.
I hope the spoiling continues corner .
Midnight hour has just passed ? My bed is calling. Take care all ?
Another midnight owl SueDonim. Good to have company in the kitchen so late.
Good morning all. Me again. I just wanted to wish Baggs' daughter well and to wish Minibaggs a happy time south of the border.
And, to say I am nearly as excited as The Soops about the health developments. Fingers very firmly crossed.
Lucky you to see the new baby so soon. maybemaw.
Off to watch Bertie play football but will try to get back later.
Thank you Muse. I've nothing planned except shopping with dd but I'm quite happy with that.
A very happy birthday grandmabatty, enjoy your shopping trip. Hope there will be cake. ???
??
So, today will be a day off for our little Polmont Gran
She's off out with her DD and shopping is the plan!
It's quite a change from a routine that took her to the park,
And days of puddle-splashing and having such a lark
With that cheeky little toddler, who was "wrangled" quite a bit
Well, he could run her ragged, but with Gran he's such a hit.
Tuesdays they'd see the Fish Man, but that day could be a blur
Just because the naughty Fish Man met "another" far from her!
She has such a pretty garden and really loves to cook,
She's also very arty and can get lost in a book.
She's always there to listen, first to help and in that car
Friends and family love her dearly, and who wouldn't
- she's a star.
But today she'll have a day off
Well deserved - a change, a rest.
Wishing such a Happy Birthday to dear Batty,
You're the BEST !
??
Happy Birthday Grandmabatty enjoy your day.????

Good morning kitcheners. Dull but dry here. Lentil soup bubbling. Help yourselves later.DD1 out of isolation yesterday. Feeling fine. DD2 out in a couple of days. Feels good. Both floored for a couple of days. I am so grateful they are ok. Archers on. Had elevenses at nine thirty. Mmmm. Trying not to remember the digestives in my kitchen cupboards. I think they may be calling me.
Doing bizarre bendy leg exercises .Can now bend down to pat ddog. Cannot tell you how happy that makes me. Thanks for bearing with me with these broken bone anecdotes. I appreciate many others deal with such issues permanently. Have a good Sunday.
