Hello, it’s not too bad at the moment. I’ve got to have an injection in my spine to release the trapped nerve, but I’ve had to cancel twice due to DH being really poorly. He’s doing okay now though.
An occupational therapist came to our house yesterday morning to assess him, and she’s referred him to all manner of services and clinics etc, some of whom got in touch straight away.
It was amazing! She was an absolute diamond.

Do you still listen to the World Service?
I heard an amazing program on there the other night.
It was called A Geochemical History of Life on Earth.
I didn’t understand 90% of it, but it was still interesting; and a lot more entertaining than it sounds.
I’ve got LBC on at the moment and they are talking about the ridiculous supply and demand problems we’ve got in the UK.
We haven’t got enough butchers now…

mokryna Fri 15-Oct-21 02:22:00

Pleased you husband it getting treatment and it sounds so bad to get anything done at the moment.

I’m still on bbc 4 and about the latest Banksy picture going for that disgusting price. Everywhere has got delivery problems but worst in the UK.

nanna8 Fri 15-Oct-21 02:22:39

We are taking quite a few medical people from overseas, including from the UK to help with our Covid outbreak. When I look at the numbers, though, we are far lower than many it is just that our Government is reactive not proactive so we don’t cope with any changes and never have.
Good that an OT came, Fanny and organised things. Hope you are feeling better today and that you can get your injection soon.

mokryna Fri 15-Oct-21 02:26:45

Medical staff are being pushed too much. My daughter has been off with PSD, some just give up and just leave.

mokryna Fri 15-Oct-21 02:29:01

I think I will try and sleep now as it’s 3.15. Take care.

FannyCornforth Fri 15-Oct-21 02:29:45

Oh, thank you both. He’s even getting talking therapy, which I never thought that he’s be keen on.
And he’s been referred to the Pain Clinic for his RA (which wasn’t even her department).

I think that all the hype about Banksy is ridiculous. He’s just a cartoonist.
Whenever I criticise him on here though I get it in the neck!
But if he’s the best that we can do art wise…
Everything is just so substandard these days sad

FannyCornforth Fri 15-Oct-21 02:31:08

Oh, I’m sorry to hear about your daughter M That’s awful. You must be very worried.
I hope that you sleep well x

BlueBelle Fri 15-Oct-21 02:34:17

Hello anyone It’s 2.32 and I m awake and raring to go My mistake came to bed too early should have hung it out anyway just refilled my hot water bottle put LBC on and see if that ll lull me back to a few more hours

FannyCornforth Fri 15-Oct-21 02:52:22

Hello BlueBelle I’m still here.
Clive Bull is on overnight, and he’s nice calming company, until that buffoon Steve Allen comes on…
I came to bed too early too

FannyCornforth Fri 15-Oct-21 02:55:50

nanna8 I’ve just seen on another thread that your granddaughter is nursing on a Covid ward.
How is she doing? It must be incredibly tough.
What a star.

BlueBelle Fri 15-Oct-21 02:59:51

Yes the only use Steve Allen has for me is he’s so boring he often sends me back for a morning snooze Clive Bull is ok My favourite is Nick Abbott he makes me smile and says things I agree with When it gets too bad on LBC I go over the world radio they’re my two go to channels
In between playing some word or number games with people still awake or overseas

FannyCornforth Fri 15-Oct-21 03:03:17

I love Nick Abbot too. I’ve been listening to some of his old shows on Amazon Music.
I often fall asleep ‘listening’ to SA, and he turns up in my dreams, following me around, droning on…

FannyCornforth Fri 15-Oct-21 03:04:12

I love Tweet of the Day on R4, but I often miss it

grandMattie Fri 15-Oct-21 05:27:01

If you like birdsong, Fanny, Scala radio has it after about 0400. I normally listen to Plastic FM as R3’s music is very “worthy”…
My sleep is in the early night up to about 0200, but I do go to bed around 2200 and am usually very soon asleep.

FannyCornforth Fri 15-Oct-21 09:06:35

Ooh, thanks Mattie.
That sounds perfect, I’m usually awake at 4am.
I usually do around 10pm to 2am; and then around 5am to 9am.
I know exactly what you mean about R3. Never heard of Plastic FM!
I hope that you and yours are doing ok, I often think of you thanks

FannyCornforth Sun 17-Oct-21 02:58:47

Hello! brewmoon Just enjoying a moon brew. Have made one for DH too.
I had to go downstairs to fetch the milk, so I did last night’s washing up, put a clothes wash on and fed the cat.
I feel quite worthy now!

FannyCornforth Sun 17-Oct-21 02:59:17

Bump…

FannyCornforth Sun 17-Oct-21 03:00:20

And another one.
Why is it not showing up? sad

FannyCornforth Sun 17-Oct-21 03:01:08

Aargh angry

FannyCornforth Sun 17-Oct-21 03:44:40

Another bash

FannyCornforth Sun 17-Oct-21 03:45:27

Ah! That’s better now smile
Anyone awake?

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 17-Oct-21 04:03:39

Morning.
I’ve got this horrid flu/cold virus that’s going around, Mr Oops also has it and now Miss Oops has started to cough.
So I’m going to Google foreign holidays to try and cheer myself up with thoughts that, maybe next year, we can go away and get some sunshine, somehow sitting in the garden doesn’t feel quite the same.
I won’t go and make myself a coffee because the others have only just got back to sleep and if I wake the dog up she will think its ok to go out and play……….

FannyCornforth Sun 17-Oct-21 04:45:42

Hello Oops sorry to hear that you’ve got that horrid cold, I’ve heard it’s called a Super Cold (I’m sure that it’s not so super).
It’s funny how many of us have to cow tow (sp?) to our dogs at this time of the morning …

grandMattie Sun 17-Oct-21 04:48:24

If only! Mr. GM has decided he doesn’t want to leave the country because of “Brexit complications”. In fact, his passport has expired. TBH, he doesn’t really like leaving the house ☹️ although he’s a very sociable chap. I would love to just go away for the odd weekend anywhere.
There’s only the two of us, and DH is deaf, he barely hears me leaving the room, so I make a hot drink and read/watch TV downstairs until he gets up around 0730.

FannyCornforth Sun 17-Oct-21 05:16:43

Hello Mattie you are always an early riser I’ve noticed!
I hope that you’re doing ok thanks
I / we definitely need to start going out more too. DH is very vulnerable immunity wise and think that shielding has taken its toll.
We are actually going to see a counsellor about it.
An occupational therapist visited us on Thursday and she’s put all manner of things in place. She has been an absolute diamond.
Our GP surgery had a flu vaccine drop in thing yesterday. We went but drove straight past as it was so busy.
