Its a miserable day outside, pouring with rain and i am still not dressed as not going anywhere and no one... i hope...visiting. I have had breakfast and and washed and cleaned my teeth and usually by now i would be dressed but i thought what does it matter there is no rush. Is this the slippery slope for the coming months!!! lol

Jaxjacky

We had our whole house decorated Teacheranne about six years ago. It was a pain and we were both working too, but utterly worth it when finished. We’re having the l.room done when we’re away next month, hall stairs and landing when we’re back. Good luck!

Thanks for the reassurance! I’ve just agreed the order of room with the decorator and I’m thinking I might move out for a few days when the hall, bathroom and my bedroom are being done. I live in a bungalow so need to cross the hall from my bedroom to get to the bathroom. I started on blood thinners two weeks ago following a TIA and have also had my blood pressure meds tweaked which has resulted in a bit of a dodgy tummy - need the toilet quite often at short notice! Could be difficult if cannot get to my bathroom!

I'm not a great one for hanging around in pyjamas and also hate the idea of duvet days.
But staying in pyjamas for most of the day seems to becoming increasingly popular.

Don’t wear PJs. I’ve been up since 7:30, so much to get done today.
I’ve a neighbour who often comes to the door in her dressing gown. I tell her she must have the best sex life in the neighbourhood.

I’m showered and dressed by 8am every day can’t stay in pjs, habit of a lifetime I guess. I waited for the downpour to stop then out came the sun, so I went for my first walk, cleaned my oven and picked a few beans for my dinner. Now I’m going to read or do a crossword.

I always get dressed soon after breakfast. Also I like the house to be tidied up. You never know who might arrive at the door! In any case I would find it depressing to stay in pyjamas all day as it reminds me of being ill.

maydonoz Mon 27-Sept-21 15:29:44

I never stay in pjs during the day unless I'm ill which, thankfully is very rare.
I'm up, having had tea in bed, usually made by DH, washed/showered and dressed by 7.30 or 8.00, depending on if I'm doing DGC care or not.
Later we have breakfast, then house chores, followed by a trip to the shops or elsewhere.

I was up at 7.15 showered and in my clothes for the day, went out as soon as rain stopped, I couldn’t never stay in my pjs, the only time I do this is if I’m ill,

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 27-Sept-21 15:42:22

No. That would be the thin edge of the wedge. Most days I am up at 8 am, jump in the shower and downstairs for breakfast by 8.30 am.

Mattsmum2 Mon 27-Sept-21 15:46:26

Up at 6am to take my daughter to work, she’s a nurse so dressed. Sat ate breakfast and tv before taking the dog out around 9. Was throwing it down at 6am but sunny and blustery for the dog walk. Showered when I got back, cleaned kitchen and prepared dinner. I’m studying also so a bit of that. Now looking at Manhunt series two. Never stay in Pjs unless I’m ill.

BBbevan Mon 27-Sept-21 15:48:54

Certainly not. Out by 8:30 and in the library by 9

Judy54 Mon 27-Sept-21 16:56:38

Don't own any Pj's so no. I am not really a morning person but once I am up and showered I like to get dressed, put my make up on and do my hair (even if I am not going out) it makes me feel better.

I wake early and either shower and dress, or just put on yesterday's clothes, and walk the dogs on the beach. If I haven't showered already, I'll shower on return, but often don't dress until much later, maybe 1pm!. Walk the dogs about 6pm and might be back in dressing gown by 7pm!

Never stay in my PJ’s - always get up and showered and dressed first thing in the morning. Haven’t seen rain in weeks - but wouldn’t change my morning.

FarNorth Tue 28-Sept-21 10:42:29

I don't usually stay in pyjamas but yesterday I just never quite got round to getting dressed and eventually thought "Why bother" because it seemed like a day that was best ignored - dull, lashing rain, wind.

Much better all round today.

Theoddbird Tue 28-Sept-21 10:45:55

I never ever stay in night wear. I get up have breakfast, shower and dress.

Alioop Tue 28-Sept-21 10:49:07

Up, washed, dressed and dog walked along the seafront. Home for breakfast and then out shopping for fresh bread and fruit. I've cleaned the inside of the windows and now sitting with a coffee. Sorry, but the sun's shining here so that has helped me get up and out. Now if it was pouring down it would be a completely different matter.

Still in pjs . Good excuse (I think). Had busy day yesterday. Met up with niece and husband at son plus wife’s house. Then viewed a house and bought it so will be nearer son as only 10 minutes walk. He keeps an eye on us. Both very good. Tired today but partly age and illness symptoms. Looking forward to new change. Bit nervous too.

Tanjamaltija Tue 28-Sept-21 10:53:32

Cannot be - I put out birdseed for the sparrows across the road, and I don't want anyone to see me in my nightie.

NanaPlenty Tue 28-Sept-21 10:56:46

Really unusual for me but hubby had complicated dental surgery yesterday - he’s still sleeping so I’m still sitting watching tv in my dressing gown at 10.30! Probably do us both good.

Juicylucy Tue 28-Sept-21 11:19:41

You indulge.. who says what time we need to get up or get dressed. My life my rules. Time to say goodbye to routine in my books.Enjoy.

icanhandthemback Tue 28-Sept-21 11:20:56

No, today I am up and dressed as I have had to go into my mother's today to sort out her breakfast. However, I do have occasional PJ days but those are the days I do more indoors than I do when I'm dressed!

jaylucy Tue 28-Sept-21 11:31:19

I don't wear PJs as I get too hot in the middle of the night when wearing them.
I don't really enjoy staying in nightwear in the mornings for some reason, but to get into my nightie and my full length robe, that zips up the front in the evening, after dinner or on occasion late afternoon, then get comfy in my chair with a cup of decaff tea or coffee and a fleecy blanket over my feet and legs, to watch a tv programme I enjoy (who doesn't love the Repair Shop) or read a book before going to bed.

Modompodom Tue 28-Sept-21 11:49:23

I have only just showered and dressed although I have been up since just after 8am. I have a slow routine unless I have something to go out for in the morning. Medication, then wait awhile before making coffee. I usually play a game on the tablet then! A light breakfast, and then a shower and get dressed. The weather isn’t very inspiring today.

Daffydilly Tue 28-Sept-21 11:56:51

Gosh! I left the house (fully dressed) just after 7 to go to work!

allule Tue 28-Sept-21 12:38:06

How do you beat the guilt? I was awake and playing online games at 4, so could have stayed in bed later, but still felt guilty when I was still in bed at eight.
No reason to get up, and no one to criticise, just my younger self.,
