Help! The old kitchen door is locked. I'm wandering hither and thither like a lost soul. Has a new kitchen been opened please? I hate being this side of the door.

Good evening lovely Kitcheners, Mr. B and I have had a rather challenging time of it recently, so we took to the fells for a wee break. I love the peace and fresh air so high up among the clouds at times. Anyway, now we’ve recharged our batteries so bring it on grin

I have been reading your updates but can’t hope to answer them all so will send love and a hug to all.

Soop hoping all goes smoothly this week, so sorry to read MrSoop’s news but I’m sure you will be able to deal with it. You have lovely friends and neighbours helping.

Beautiful view Blossoming. It’s very calming to be outside under the wide skies.

Soop many people will be sending you their best wishes this week. I do hope you get the outcome you want. I expect Mr.Soop mirrors you with his kindness and wish to be supportive. I will cross my fingers for him too. Glad you have such great friends/neighbours. I am sure you have helped them out in the past.
Went to our allotment this morning. Stunning autumnal day. Invigorating to be out though stayed inside this afternoon listening to the radio and doing housework. Wishing everyone a peaceful evening and a good week ahead.

Just setting off for bed. We have spent most of the day at DS2s house. He and DIL are recovering from covid and are shattered dealing with DGS's and trying to settle into new house. DH has painted wall in GS's bedroom and hung curtains in various bedrooms and playroom. I supported DS in taking DGS1 to circus skills hour while DIL took DGS2 to a birthday party. They produced apple turnovers cooked from scratch just before we left to drive home. Then they were off to a firework display wondering if the 3 year old was up for it. Both working full-time to pay the mortgage they are trying to spend time with the boys as much as they can.

Just popped in to wish Soop good luck for the long drive to Glasgow. Thank goodness its dry, its not the easiest of journeys at the best of times.

Having previously met Mr Soop, I can confirm he is a lovely man and I was so sad to read he could not accompany Soop.

Her hospital is only fifteen minutes away from me and she knows I will be there in the blink of an eye, if she needs anything. A few friends have been patients there and I know Soop will be well looked after.

What a comfort for soop and Mr soop to know you are so close Marydoll☺️

Lovely view Blossoming.Hope you are both feeling better for the break, always good to recharge the batteries! We have booked a few days in the Lakes in April.

We are in Stafford looking after B.Left home just before 6 and feel like I’ve done a days work already!

brook2704 Mon 08-Nov-21 08:13:41

How kind of you marydoll I hope soop doesn’t need anything but so good to know a friend is there if needed.
Have a good day Susan I wish I had your energy levels!

Charleygirl5 Mon 08-Nov-21 08:44:52

soop I am wishing you the very best for this week. You will know that Mr. Soop will be safe at home and hopefully with a nudge or two, he will soon have his cataracts removed.

That is very kind of Marydoll as she lives so close to the hospital. Your neighbours are also superb.

Sweetie pie will not lose out if Mr. Soop is at home! It really would be no disruption for me to move in if I was cared for half as well as the cat.

TOYA

Sending love and hugs to Soop and MrSoop. Hope all goes well.

GrannySomerset Mon 08-Nov-21 09:09:28

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome this week, Soop - you both deserve it.

Blossoming Mon 08-Nov-21 13:20:48

Fingers firmly crossed for the Soops this week.

Those cakes look lovely YiaYia, glad you enjoyed the weekend celebrations.

It’s overcast here but at least it’s dry. I have a few sewing jobs needing my attention and Mr. B is building birdboxes in the shed. The pansies he bought and planted for me a few weeks ago are still blooming, such a beautiful sight on a grey day.

Nannytopsy Mon 08-Nov-21 14:23:19

Best wishes soop and chin up MrSoop - try not to worry about her!
Marydoll is there!

kittylester Mon 08-Nov-21 14:57:56

Just popping in to add to the good wishes for soop - you've usually gone by the time I say anything. So I've got in early!!

soop Mon 08-Nov-21 15:16:23

Bless you all. smile

Our friend in the village has been in touch and will collect me at 6:30 On Thursday morning. She will take the room Mr Soop reserved in the hotel near Loch Lomond during my hospital visit. When I'm discharged, she will collect me and motor me home. We cannot thank her enough. Mr Soop is preparing to contact the consultant who put him on the cataract removal list some time ago. We hope that he can get an appointment fairly soon.

Thank you, Marydoll, you are a dear lady. Mr Soop remembers meeting you on the occasion when you gave Father Christmas the runaround. wink

Blossoming You deserved the refreshing escape to the peaceful surroundings of the fells. I trust that you have returned feeling all the better for your visit.
Those colourful pansy faces really do raise a smile.

Yiayia Those cakes! Some clever person has produced mouthwatering calorie-free edible works of art. I am pleased that you enjoyed such a special celebration.

singingnutty Take a bow. You both deserve big hugs for your kindness and consideration.

A sad day for us today as Maria up the road accompanied her black Labrador round this morning to tell us that she had been worried about Spock (as we were) and had found him last night lying by the side of the road. There wasn’t a mark on him and she thinks he was poisoned. She was in tears telling us and his friend the black lab is looking for him everywhere. sad

dustyangel Mon 08-Nov-21 16:33:38

Sorry to cast a blight on things. I’ll catch up with all you kitchen news now.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 08-Nov-21 16:40:57

Best wishes soop and Mr.Soop

I am out of the loop of the kitchen news, (have been poorly myself) now I am just totally exhausted from doing nothing along with my mojo missing in action!

cornergran Mon 08-Nov-21 16:42:52

I’m so sorry dustyangel. Sad news indeed.

Yiayia4 Mon 08-Nov-21 16:46:11

How sad DustyAngel?

SueDonim Mon 08-Nov-21 16:54:41

Good afternoon! Though it’s dark here, so is it good evening? ?

Soop, I hope all goes well with your hospital trip and that MrSoop can get his cataracts sorted out ASAP. It seems to be a miracle op when you have it done! How lovely of Marydoll to offer her services, too. Isn’t the internet community wonderful at times? ❤️

Yia Yia cake! Spoilt for choice, we are!

Lovely pansies, Blossoming. They’re cheerful little things. Though you remind me I still haven’t done my winter panties and bulbs. It’s been so mild that I keep forgetting it’s mid-November. I did do some ‘home maintenance’ on my house plants today, though.

Dustyangel that’s so awful, your poor little pal. flowers Why would anyone do that?

A quiet day today for me, before a day out tomorrow to visit the New Baby and family. I’ve done various tidying up jobs, though, and a bit of pottering. It’s my mum’s 94th birthday so I had a chat with her, too. Vegetable tray bake for dinner then an evening of knitting a cardigan for my dd and maybe some tv.

soop Mon 08-Nov-21 17:29:48

dustyangel Such sad news. Only a wicked person could do such a wicked thing to an innocent creature.

I need to log off for today. I trust that we will meet again tomorrow. TOYA smile moon
