Help! The old kitchen door is locked. I'm wandering hither and thither like a lost soul. Has a new kitchen been opened please? I hate being this side of the door.

GrannySomerset ring the surgery and don’t let them fob you off , maybe the medication needs adjusting , but you so need help ! You need to let them know you are on your own and help is essential

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 18-Oct-21 09:12:02

Fingers crossed for you Granny Somerset x

aggie Mon 18-Oct-21 09:12:34

Sorry , I see you have it in hand , don’t put on a brave face when the GP visits !

Grandmajean Mon 18-Oct-21 09:18:52

Another one here who thinks you need to be really firm ( stroppy if necessary ) and it's not easy when you are upset and worried. Please do come back Grannysomerset and let us know the outcome.

So late here this morning, I overslept after taking a sleeping tablet last night but want to add my kindest thoughts to Grannysomerset the GP needs to see for him/ herself just how your H is.
I have been through this, I gave until I could give no more.
That, I feel, is why it has taken me so long to recover from the last years of looking after my H.
Will check in later as I am just drinking a cup of tea before racing round ready to be picked up at 11:30 for yet another jaunt.

PollyTickle Mon 18-Oct-21 10:32:06

Oh GrannySomerset, you have soldiered on bravely for such a long time and now, unsurprisingly, you are at the end of your tether. I hope you get the practical support that you need for both of you. I just wanted to pop in here to give you a hug. ?

brook2704 Mon 18-Oct-21 10:41:28

Good you’ve got a visit scheduled for later grannysomerset hopefully your DH will gradually improve and get the proper help he needs
Thinking of you today and sending hugs ?

GrannySomerset Mon 18-Oct-21 11:00:56

GP has been and diagnosed a chest infection and prescribed antibiotics. District Nurse team asked to come and see us.

So some progress has been made and we will see how the next couple of days go.

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 18-Oct-21 11:29:49

I am glad the GP has been. I hope the antibiotics work rapidly. Now you must look after yourself. Please sit down and have a cup of tea. So much on your shoulders. People here to talk to.x

brook2704 Mon 18-Oct-21 11:36:48

Let’s hope those antibiotics help your DH grannysomerset and he starts to improve soon

Blossoming Mon 18-Oct-21 11:50:00

I’m glad the GP has been, hope those antibiotics do the necessary GrannySomerset.

Thinking of Urmstongran this morning, hope the neck scan goes well.

Susan56 Mon 18-Oct-21 12:14:20

Glad the GP has visited as promised GrannySomerset. Here’s hoping the antibiotics do their job and the district nurses can get some help arranged for you.

Hope the scan goes well Urms

soop Mon 18-Oct-21 12:48:45

GrannySomerset, I have been hoping to discover that your husband's condition has been taken seriously. Please keep us updated regarding the hoped for improvement the antibiotics should make. It's been such a worry for both of you.

PollyTickle Have I welcomed you before today? If not, I'm doing so right now. Make yourself comfortable. It's a blustery day outside. I shall make you a fresh brew and search for a slice of home-baked cake. She says hopefully.

Grandmabatty Mon 18-Oct-21 12:52:03

Grannysomerset I'm glad the doctor visited and your dh has been seen. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and the district nurse team will help

soop Mon 18-Oct-21 12:58:18

Grandmajean Your harvest mousie is very decorative.

I slept in this morning. Now, of course, I'm playing catch me if you can. The pile of ironing is teetering dangerously on the bedroom chair. I have a new sketch waiting for the arty farty person to work some kind of magic thereon.
I am thankful for my many blessings. Will do my very best to return to you lovely lot a little later ^having made some progress worth sharing. grin

Grandmabatty Mon 18-Oct-21 12:58:50

I've made peanut butter cookies this morning while dgs played with dinosaurs. We've been puddle splashing as the weather has been wet, and watched birds in grandma's garden. He's regressed a bit in toilet training but we think it's just a blip. A few accidents to mop up though. Back to hide and seek.

Jaxjacky Mon 18-Oct-21 13:02:21

Better news GrannySomerset hopefully in a couple of days he’ll feel perkier and the District Nurses prove helpful.
Chin up Urms x

PollyTickle Mon 18-Oct-21 13:14:07

Thank you soop.

muse Mon 18-Oct-21 13:37:43

Quick visit to see how your DH is GrannySomerset. Hope the doctors visit later today gives you both answers. Take care you two.

Hello to PollyTickle. ?Has soop found you some goodies? Peanut butter cookies sound delicious Grandmabatty. Hint ☺️

Enjoy your jaunt Annsixty and good luck Urms.

I've spent the morning helping DD compose a reply email to her ex. She's taken the morning off work to do it and speak to CMS.
MrM has progressed to full nights in bed ?. 1st of his dressing changes this week. Hope those stocking have arrived and he can get back into his boots. This is not the weather for sandals.

Another quick visit this evening as I've still lots of kitchen news to catch up with.

Jaxjacky Mon 18-Oct-21 13:46:20

Very rude of me, I was focused on GSomerset
Big welcome PollyTickle to the best kitchen, you’ll get a lovely hug and a listening ear x

Nannagarra Mon 18-Oct-21 14:04:19

Glad to hear about the GP visit and the antibiotics GrandmaSomerset. Now for the District Nurse Team to help you. You’ve bravely soldiered on; they should become involved.
Welcome PollyTickle. ?

brook2704 Mon 18-Oct-21 14:12:55

Hi to PollyTickle I love that username! I hope you’re sat comfortably in the kitchen with a large slice of cake
I’ve just finished my splash about and blethering at the Aqua class at the gym, so popped into Costa for a cuppa and to recharge the batteries and have a catch up on GN
It’s wet today in Inverness- both in the pool and out of it so I’m just going shopping later. Believe it or not I need a Halloween costume as I’m going to visit DD1 that weekend and she’s having a Halloween party !! Blumming heck whatever next I thought those days were behind me!

SueDonim Mon 18-Oct-21 14:14:02

I’m so glad the Dr has been, Grannysomerset and I hope GrandadS is soon responding to the AB’s. You sound at the end of your tether, unsurprisingly. flowers

Grandmabatty my dd thinks her new baby is a rain-maker! It’s rained every single day since he was born! ?

Hello, Pollytickle! smile I’m quite new here and still learning everyone’s names but I’m getting there!

Back later, when I hope to have made the Xmas puds!

Nannytopsy Mon 18-Oct-21 14:44:26

Hello PollyTickle - welcome! Do you make cake? I am off to search the deep freeze for something with which to create a meal. I may be some time …
