Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, damp corner of Somerset.

Disappointed to have a message yesterday cancelling my post surgery follow up booked for today. All clinics cancelled for this week. No idea why. I’ll get a call tomorrow to reschedule. Can’t be helped. Our covid one is OK if bored. Her sister must have had a very wet night in a tent, she’ll be home this evening after another day of walking and I’m sure grateful for her bed.

No plans for today, may do a grocery shop. Hope harri and mary were able to sleep, and ash is recovering. Thinking of everyone finding life hard going at the moment

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

grandMattie Tue 19-Oct-21 06:46:18

Good morning from a damp E Kent with remarkably high temperatures.
What a shame, corner, I hope it’s rescheduled soon. harri and Marydoll, you are both much in my thoughts, you too Ash.
A busy day for us, with tai chi, DH’s volunteering at Age Concern this morning; an eye test for DH while I’m at the supermarket! Zoom with DH’s school friends, we missed the reunion as it was the week of Philip’s funeral and finally I shall venture to my WI craft group in the evening. Barely time to draw breath.
I hope today brings good cheer and relief to everyone. Carpe diem. ????❤️❤️☀️☀️☀️❤️???

harrigran Tue 19-Oct-21 06:48:49

Good morning from a mild NE.
I have not been to bed, sat all day and all night with DH because he keeps trying to get out of bed.
Adult social care rang last night to let me know they were able to go ahead with DH being admitted to a nursing home, he will go this morning.
Unfortunately they were unable to offer me any overnight help so it fell to me to do the caring. They did suggest I put a mattress on the floor and sleep beside DH. If I could drag a double mattress I wouldn't be in need of assistance confused
Thank you for all the messages of support.

Ashcombe Tue 19-Oct-21 06:55:17

Good morning, everyone, from a blustery, wet but mild Torbay.

Thank you for the kind words, including cornergran and grandMattie ? this morning. I’m gradually feeling better, despite a poor night due to the weather. Now the council street cleaning vehicle is round to clear leaves before too many cars impede progress! Never a dull moment.

What a busy day, grandMattie!

I’m thinking of you harrigran as you come to terms with your DH being moved into a nursing home and I'm so sorry you’ve had to stay awake all night. It’s good that things are moving quickly for you. There is much loving support for you on here as the responses yesterday show. A tough time for you all and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. ?????

Good morning from dark Leicestershire.

I hope your DH’s move goes smoothly. You really need now to look after yourself Harrigran.

Up early for the Sky engineer despite arriving home absolutely shattered yesterday. We had a lovely time with the family but had forgotten how tiring two little ones can be.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 19-Oct-21 07:06:35

Morning Mick and all

Oh harrigran I am so sorry you have been up all night, you must be exhausted. I hope you are feeling more comfortable with your DH going into a nursing home. Hopefully you will be able to get some rest before visiting (((hugs)))

Pleased you are on the mend Ash , what a nuisance corner

We have The Imp today then pick up the 6yr old from school, my medication is working so should be ok, when the little one naps this morning so will I.

Have a good a Tuesday

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

mumofmadboys Tue 19-Oct-21 07:06:56

Good morning from Essex by the sea.
I will be thinking of you today Harrigran. Not an easy decision but unfortunately a necessary one. Your DH will get the care he needs and you can get some much needed rest. Love to you.
DH will be back from sailing this afternoon and we are meeting up with one of my brothers for a meal this evening. I haven't seen him for over two years and he does know how to talk !!!.
Have a pleasant Tuesday everyone ? xx

Pittcity Tue 19-Oct-21 07:24:14

Good morning from Colchester where it is just starting to get light. A warm, humid day is forecast (up to 20°).
Tuesday is my volunteering day at the Air Ambulance shop.
Sending love to all, especially Harrigan today ? xx

Gingster Tue 19-Oct-21 07:46:00

Good morning all and its very mild here in Essex.

Harrigran - I hope all goes well today and you can get some rest. ?

Today I have a glaucoma test at the hospital. I shall be there all afternoon, so dh will drop me off and pick up when I call.

Tomorrow we plan to go to our cottage by the sea for a couple of weeks. I expect the garden is in dire need of tidying and we will put outside furniture to bed for the winter. Dh and family will come up for a few days in half term. They seldom have good weather when they visit, so we will just enjoy each other’s company and make the most of being together. ?

Wishing you all a gentle day. ????

Greyduster Tue 19-Oct-21 07:49:29

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A wet South Yorkshire day. DH has a medical appointment this morning so we are up and about early. I will look in later to catch up.
Harri ?. Thinking of you and your DH.

Forsythia Tue 19-Oct-21 07:52:26

Gloomy and damp here in south London. Autumn well and truly here with the trees shedding their leaves rapidly. After a hectic weekend I’m looking forward to getting back to normal, whatever that may be!
Best wishes to those who are suffering in many ways and hope everyone else has a good day if they can.

Marydoll Tue 19-Oct-21 07:54:24

Good morning Mick and all, from a wet, but mild Glasgow.

Harri, you were in my thoughts all day yesterday, which put my trials and tribulations into perspective and believe me, nothing went well with both engineer visits! Some posters have a way of saying such comforting things, I'm not good at that, but I do care about all my GM friends.

Nothing much planned for today, except awaiting a phone call from the surgery's pharmacy technician to try and sync my meds. Being on twenty meds, with them constantly changing and trying to cut down on pharmacy visits is becoming a logistical nightmare!
One worry has been relieved, I received a phone call , saying my that my very scarce injections would be delivered this week, despite a worldwide shortage, due to it being used in Covid ICU.

Another restless and painful night, with an unsettling dream, involving the poster Elizabeth1. In it, I went to visit her with someone on the GM thread, ( just a shadowy figure) and her husband took me on a terrifying helicopter flight, over a dam, where we crashed! Grandmattie's Iris, also featured in it!! Don't worry GM, Iris was perfectly safe, keeping Elizabeth company! I have absolutely no idea, where all this came from!! ?‍♀️

Mr Doll plans to re-grout the main bathroom today. Kalu you will probably be able to hear my rants of frustration, up your way! For the sake of my sanity, I plan to lock myself in the conservatory with a handsome Korean medical professor. blush. That is, Virgin Media play ball with the WiFi!
I cannot believe I am admitting to my secret vice!!! My excuse is that that watching foreign language films is one of the best ways to learn a language. Well it worked with my former pupils! wink

Urms, I hope your appointment went well yesterday. Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

Grandmajean Tue 19-Oct-21 07:55:24

Good morning from a very wet and dark Cheshire.
A very difficult day for you harrigran. My good wishes are sent your way.

brook2704 Tue 19-Oct-21 07:57:38

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry start to the day and very mild
A difficult day today harri for both you and your DH, please look after yourself and try to get some rest
I’m off to my fitsteps dance class this morning which I really enjoy and then a bit of shopping in town.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Jaxjacky Tue 19-Oct-21 07:57:59

Good morning all from a soggy, windy S Hants, decorator starts in an hour, hall, stairs and landing. I have two drives today, both for Covid boosters.
Thoughts are with harrigran.
Have a gentle Tuesday all.

MayBeMaw Tue 19-Oct-21 08:04:44

Good morning all.
Harrigran. flowers

Grandmadinosaur Tue 19-Oct-21 08:12:41

Good morning all from a dark, damp East Yorkshire.
Felling a tad tired this morning after my day in London. I’d forgotten how exhausting it can be and how unfit I am. My journey both ways though went very smoothly and train was pretty quiet. On the return there were only 3 other people in my carriage.

Coffee morning today. Bit of house tidying this afternoon and dgs after school.

Thoughts to harrigran on this sad day.
Thoughts also to others with worries etc.

Take care.

kittylester Tue 19-Oct-21 08:18:35

Good morning all from a lighter North Leicestershire where we have rain.

Dreadful night at the Lester's! The new mattress is fighting back and making dh snore.

Sending gentle (hugs) to harri. This is a very difficult time for you but you need to make sure you get your rest. Thinking of you.

Nannytopsy Tue 19-Oct-21 08:23:16

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Another grey day after overnight rain in Suffolk.
Best wishes to harrigran on a difficult day. I hope that you can spend better times with your DH now that you are not responsible for all his care.
We have to go shopping for birthday presents - shock and horror! I can’t remember the last time! The cold I was worried about doesn’t seem to be developing ?.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Susan56 Tue 19-Oct-21 08:26:55

Good morning from Shropshire.Heavy rain at the moment and forecast for most of the day.

harri, such a very difficult day for you.Our thoughts are with you, your DH and your family?

Hoping that GrannySomerset has had a better night and start to the day.

Nothing planned today?too wet to do any outside jobs, housework all done, washing machine broken so no laundry.I think I will follow Marydoll’s lead and settle down in the conservatory although in my case with a book not a handsome Korean medical, professor!

Wishing everyone a gentle day??

ginny Tue 19-Oct-21 08:33:47

Good morning. It is a little breezy and damp this morning in N. Bucks.
Dd3 will be arriving in about 40 minutes with DGS3. We will be joined by DD1 for lunch at a local restaurant.
Bits and pieces this evening, mainly craft type preparation.
Hope you can all find a smile today.

NanKate Tue 19-Oct-21 08:35:52

Good morning Mick and All.

Harrigran you are going through a living nightmare. Once your DH is safely in a Home you will need to give yourself some tlc maybe with the help of your doctor with some short term sleeping tablets if that is appropriate and of course you are lucky to have a supportive family. Best of luck ?

Kitty new mattresses take time to be ‘broken in’.

Ashcombe hope you continue to improve. ?

Anniebach Tue 19-Oct-21 08:40:05
