Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, Wet and Windy here in Brackley at the moment.
Today ,an early shop for essentials, and plan to get the bus to Bicester again later as its market day there .
Yesterday , I paid the final payment for my Xmas break Coach trip to the IOW.
Take Care,
Mick

grandMattie Fri 29-Oct-21 06:18:18

Good morning from a very dark E Kent.
Got very little happening today - change beds, sort out my Christmas table runner started at my craft group, get launched into two totes ordered by GD1 with very specific appliqués in particular colours and sizes…
My haircut was excellent yesterday. I hate coming out looking as if I’ve had it cut! She’s been doing my hair for the last 35 years, so knows my tasted by now, despite the dreadful cuts and perms I’ve asked for in the past!
I hope today brings comfort to the sad, those in pain or worried. Carpe diem! ?????

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, wet and windy corner of Somerset.

Sore throat and sniffly this morning. It feels like a cold, to be sure I’ll take a lateral flow later. Hope it doesn’t block my hospital appointment next week. Physio at lunch time, should be OK if the lateral flow is negative, will text the physio in advance to get her view. Other than that no plans for today. May wrap some gifts.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Good morning all! We are up early as we are off to London for the weekend to see our youngest son. He is returning today from a holiday in Iceland. We have not seen him for 6 months so looking forward to it very much. Hope everyone has a peaceful day

Mapleleaf Fri 29-Oct-21 06:35:12

Morning all,

One of those mornings when I can’t get back to sleep, so I’ve made a cuppa and decided to post on here extra early for me ?.
It’s dark, wet and windy here, too, Mick.

Lots to do today, but first things first - finish my cup of

Enjoy your trip to London mumofmadboys to see your son. You must be feeling very excited after not seeing him for so long.

Take care everyone.

Mapleleaf Fri 29-Oct-21 06:35:43

Cup of tea!

baubles Fri 29-Oct-21 06:38:56

Good morning Muck, morning all from South Lanarkshire. I’ve no idea what the weather is doing as I haven’t peeped out yet.

Survived the childminding day yesterday but still feel dreadful. It’s charity shop day today and I’m thinking I’d rather not go in but they are so short of volunteers that I’d feel so guilty to let them down.

Glad you were pleased with your haircut Mattie.

I found a random flamingo yesterday which made me smile. It was the replacement basin plug in DS’s bathroom.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

grandMattie Fri 29-Oct-21 06:45:26

What a lovely plug, baubles!

kittylester Fri 29-Oct-21 07:18:45

Good morning all from a wet North Leicestershire.

Off out to queue for our boosters (as instructed by DD2!) so it was maybe silly to have a few winewine at our neighbours last night!

Butcher's delivery later and, maybe a trip to M&S to return some stuff.

Marydoll Fri 29-Oct-21 07:24:25

Good morning Mick and all from a showery Glasgow.
I was woken very early by an elephant, blundering around the room! The golfer seems to be getting up earlier and earlier!

I need to go out for some essentials today, but won't be doing my usual browsing, I have no inclination at all to shop these days. After taking part in a ZOE webinar yesterday on Vaccines and the Immunocompromised, I was left feeling very low. I received the AZ vaccine, which has been shown in some immunosuppressed patients to have only 40% efficacy. The odds are stacked against me in respect of my comorbidities, one medicine in particular and of course my age! I was left feeling very discombulated to say the least.

It six months today, since my second vaccination, but third primary vaccinations, as opposed to boosters cannot be booked online. Because the circumstances are different, I must await a letter or phone call.
I'm getting really frustrated, to say the least. However, life must go on, so I will continue to manage my risks, it's either that or enter an enclosed nunnery! I don't think I would do very well, I wouldn't be good at keeping quiet! wink

On a lighter note, DH has invited me to lunch at the golf club after his game today, so no cooking of dinner tonight. Even better, despite me offering to drive up the single track, very steep and twisty road, he says he will do it! Now that is a real treat!

Baubles, I hope you manage to get through the day, without feeling too awful. I have had that bug for ages.
GrannySomerset, did you see my post yesterday about phoning Tesco regarding your predicament? The staff in Dundee have always been excellent at sorting my problems.
MOBB, lovely to see you posting, you must be so excited at the thought of seeing your son and Harri, great to see you back.
To the gran, who messaged me yesterday, thank you for brightening my day!

Carpe diem et nil carborundum!

Ashcombe Fri 29-Oct-21 07:31:23

Good morning all from a rainy Torbay! If it’s anything like six years ago, it will brighten up later!

We're spending our anniversary quietly after a hectic day in Plymouth yesterday. Thank you for the many lovely wishes ? which were a joy to read last night. The ballet was magnificent with a huge cast, wonderful costumes and superb dancing, with acting that enabled the tragic story to come alive.?. The rich harmonies and intentional discord of Prokofiev's music from the orchestra supported this memorable performance from Birmingham Royal Ballet. Our favourite ballet of all we've seen and for olddudders there have been many going back to the 1950’s!

Enjoy whatever you’ve planned for the weekend, everyone! ?????

Marydoll Fri 29-Oct-21 07:34:38

Happy anniversary Ash and olddudders! ??

Beechnut Fri 29-Oct-21 07:35:47

Good Morning everyone from damp Severnside.
A plug to make you smile baubles.

I was pleased with my blood results yesterday. I have stayed in prediabetic and all the rest were within range. My blood pressure was down from last week. Hopefully my anxiousness will drain away now.

I woke during the night and thought it was rather light. My neighbours had left their new smart looking outside lights on.

I’m off to do the weekly shop and get the ingredients for a recipe I saw awhile ago on another GN thread.

Happy Anniversary Mr&Mrs AshcombeDudders ??
Have a good day all ?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 29-Oct-21 07:39:40

Morning Mick and all

Still dark here in S E Essex.

My DH has gifted me his head cold, I am still on steroids from my chest infection two weeks ago, and finished the antibiotics one week ago. ???

The Imp is going out with his other Nanna today, and the 6yr old is going to Nerf Wars for the last day of half-term, he has reassured me that it might be dangerous but he will be careful.

Takeaway Chinese for dinner this evening as I do not want to sit sniffing in a restaurant, not nice for me or those around.

Have managed to negotiate new orders being dispatched from The White Company and Boden as Hermes managed to lose them, and ordered two M & S Beauty Advent Calendars (one for me and one for DD) which I can pick up on Sunday.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Grandmadinosaur Fri 29-Oct-21 07:42:39

Good morning all. Another dark but dry and mild one here.
Yesterday I did a bit of tidying around the house and did a shop at Aldi.

I forgot to share a funny comment made by dgs whilst we were away. He had been telling us how Mummy put classical music on when he got a bit fractious to calm him down. On the drive home DH had a bit of a moan about a driver in front. I reprimanded him about it to which dgs said to him “you might want to listen to some classical music grandad” . Out of the mouth of babes eh ??
No plans for today. I might see DIL and dgs at some point.
mumofbadboys an exciting day for you. Enjoy.
Hope you feel better soon cornergran and * baubles* .
Take care all. For anyone that needs them ?

brook2704 Fri 29-Oct-21 07:43:45

Good morning everyone from DD1 house in Cambridge where it’s just getting light and looks a bit wet. The journey down here yesterday was fine and DD1 picked me up from the station with two excited DGSs. I’m not sure what we’re doing yet today but it’ll be lovely whatever it is.
Good that you’ve got a trip planned to look forward to at Christmas mick ?
Have a lovely time with your son momb
Wishing Ashcombe and Olddudders a very Happy Anniversary ???
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings

GrannyGravy13 Fri 29-Oct-21 07:48:20

Oops…

Happy Anniversary Ashcombe & Olddudders ???

Grandmadinosaur Fri 29-Oct-21 07:51:08

Happy Anniversary Ash and Olddudders ??

Jaxjacky Fri 29-Oct-21 07:51:21

Good morning all from a dark, soggy S Hants. Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday Ashcombe with olddudders, perfect; enjoy your anniversary today ?.
Good news Beechnut and relax….
Farm shop and a quick collection from our small M&S this morning, I’m still wary of large shops. Although not immunocompromised, we’re still being careful, I’ve just taken a refund rather than see The Killers next year, too many people.
We have the GC’s staying tonight, so no Friday pub, MrJ will pop down for a couple.
Enjoy Friday, especially you with your son mumofmadboys.
???

Marydoll Fri 29-Oct-21 07:59:27

The rain is coming down in torrents and the golfer has returned home. Bang goes my empty!! grrrrr! ?

Gingster Fri 29-Oct-21 08:00:23

Good morning from a wild and windy Suffolk coast - but the sun has just risen out of the sea, so the pink and pale blue sky makes everything have a rosy glow. There’s a strong current on the sea and it’s choppy . I saw swimmers in yesterday. An elderly lady asked me to watch her as she plunged in, ‘just in case she had a heart attack’ . ?. It was only for a few minutes but it must have been icy cold. “Little pooch and I marvelled at her bravery.

Today we are going for afternoon tea at our old neighbours ‘new’ bungalow (my Late SIL’s place). It will seem strange!
This evening I’m going to our local theatre to see a ladies folk group. Really looking forward to that. ???.

Happy anniversary *mr and Mrs Olddudders’.❤️

GG hope your cold disappears soon.
You too cornergran.
So many have this horrid cold. We’ve escaped …… so far ?.

Take care and keep your masks on. ?. Just in case!
????

grandMattie Fri 29-Oct-21 08:04:22

Oh, what a shame, *”Marydoll”! No rain yet here. None on the forecast either…
Happy anniversary, Ash and olddud. You both deserve happiness after the very difficult 18months you’ve been through. I hope that oldd’s back is now ok. X

Pittcity Fri 29-Oct-21 08:08:02

Good morning from Colchester which has had a pinkish dawn with rain in the forecast but not yet arrived.
DD2 and DGS2 are visiting today. The 6 year old will set the agenda. I must get showered and dressed as they are usually early arrivers.

Happy Anniversary "Ashcombe* and Olddudders ?

Love to all x

NanKate Fri 29-Oct-21 08:08:10

Good morning Mick and All.

Raining here at our DS’s house in West Sussex

Snap MOMB my son and his lovely partner are flying back from Iceland today too.

Many congratulations Ashcombe and Olddudders. ??? The ballet was a lovely way to celebrate.

One of our kind friends took photos and videos of our small get together for our 50th last Saturday and he has cleverly weaved it into a short 5 min video. We keep watching it and will show it to our family this weekend whilst we are celebrating with them.

dragonfly46 Fri 29-Oct-21 08:08:45

Good morning - still dark in Leicestershire so not sure about the weather.

Just heard my test yesterday was negative. From what I have heard Covid is less severe than this rotten cold that is going round. I have cancelled my Nordic walk and a 70th birthday party this evening. Think I may stay in bed!

Happy Anniversary Ashcombe lucky you - you are still in the first flush!
