Thank you all for your thoughts on me falling. I will take the advice to take it easy today. Beechnutella has just asked how is my scabby leg ?

PollyTickke I love Liverpool too and my fellow Liverpudlians, they will always be in my heart although I’m not in the city now. I miss the humour so much. It’s certainly a fine city and that area will be regenerated, which is a good thing.
I’m a Livertonian or Everpolian, don’t mind who wins, Mother Evertonian, father Liverpool supporter.

Everpoolian?

Morning I know and all

No idea what happened to my post of 6.20ish this morning. Another bad night coughing and wheezing. Held on the phone for 40 minutes only to be told by the care navigator (why can’t they stick to flipping receptionist, or gate keepers as they are known in our house since Covid) that he couldn’t make me a face-to-face appointment. I asked how they were going to listen to my chest, check my oxygen levels and take my peak flow reading over the phone, silence….. Anyway my actual GP rang just after 10am asking me to go straight to the surgery (I must admit to having a little cry of relief), stronger antibiotics, plenty of rest and steroids only if I really cannot breath hopefully this plan will keep me out of hospital.

My poor DiL was all prepped to go down to theatre this morning for a major operation (8 hours involving her lungs/chest) only to be told it was off 40 minutes beforehand as they were short of ICU nurses, hoping for Monday now.

Just re-read this, so full of gloom, sorry folks.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Good Morning from a grey, chilly & breezy Cambs.,

Happy Birthday Greyduster, cupcake wine

Thinking of you & your family [GrannyGravy],
Also GrannySomerset, & harrigran.

Take Care, all of you, flowers

Susan56 Thu 04-Nov-21 11:43:06

Oh GrannyGravy how disappointing for your daughter in law.Hope the operation can go ahead on Monday. The waiting must be so stressful for you all.I hope the stronger antibiotics do the trick for you.Sending love and strength to you and your family?

Polly, we are all Liverpool supporters.Dad and brothers had season tickets for Anfield. When I was about ten years old I had a phase of insisting I was an Evertonian.Went down like a lead balloon?

We have stayed at the Titanic hotel the last couple of times we have visited. It’s DD and SIL’s new favourite hotel. There are lots of deals to be had and can work out not much different to Premier Inn prices if you’re lucky. The only snag is it’s a bit out of the centre.

PollyTickle Thu 04-Nov-21 12:48:12

Oh dear GrannyGravy you are in the wars. Hope the latest round of antibiotics start to work soon and you feel better. Your poor daughter-in-law, how awful after psyching herself up for such a big operation to then have to face it all over again.
Fingers crossed for Monday

Good morning from chilly Leicestershire.

We are venturing out this morning for hearing tests. They are long overdue as we have been having very odd conversations like - ‘What would you like for dinner’
‘I think it is quarter past 2’!

Have a good day everyone.

Good afternoon all from nothing so sunny Isle of Thanet.

Oh dear, I just read this out to him indoors. ??
To give you an idea of our household, we are both Geordies but from different ends. Plus I left and came down south when I was 21, I'm now 55. I still have a Geordie accent but, in respect of our accents, mine was never a broad Geordie accent. On the other hand, although he also left at some point he wasn't away that long and went back.
I did go back for a few months (ended up being from 2013 to 2018 lol).
My children understand him better than I do ???? and they were born down here & have always lived here!
I do have slight hearing problems (tinnitus) and ADD which doesn't help. But we have some weird conversations, too, so you are not alone! xx

PollyTickle Thu 04-Nov-21 12:52:01

Just a quickie for my fellow scousers. My Dad was a staunch Evertonian and I wouldn’t have dared marry a Liverpool supporter. Spent many happy hours at the Gladys Street end of Goodison Park However our eldest son the traitorous turncoat switched sides and my poor Dad was forced to prove his love by setting foot in Anfield.

PollyTickle Thu 04-Nov-21 12:53:35

Susan just looked at Titanic Hotel, great, thanks for that

Snuck back to wish greyduster a very happy Birthday ???

joyce6135 Thu 04-Nov-21 13:07:58

Morning all, maybe afternoon! Just caught up with the posts, Marydoll I would say your hubbie has passed probation, what a star. Do you lend him out? GrannyGravy hope you feel better soon and your dil’s op goes ahead on Monday, she must be so disappointed. I’ve been watching tennis from Paris all week, and last evening I burnt the Brussels as I was so absorbed. The smell was horrendous, that will teach me! Have the best day possible everyone.

dragonfly46 Thu 04-Nov-21 13:18:46

Happy Birthday GreyDuster hope you have a lovely day.

So sorry to hear you are still suffer GrannyGravy I was also coughing for England all last night but hoping I can avoid the doctor. How horrid for your DiL to have her op cancelled at the last minute. It takes a lot to psych yourself up twice!! Fingers crossed it takes place on Monday.
