It’s my second week at the gym and I’ve managed to stick to it, even when I’ve been called into work I have gone into the gym before work so that has made me happy..?
After me being poorly for nearly 3 weeks my DGD 3yrs came to visit yesterday it was delightful to hear her knock on the front door and shout through the letterbox "Nana let me in I'm here for you "
Had Sunday lunch, this week, with two of my three DDs and five DGC for the first time since February 2020. Hope to all three together for one meal in a few weeks time.
It isn't 100% happy making, but it IS 100% grateful making for me...
I've got LOTS of work. Which is great, seeing as how I no longer have a 'proper' employer. The downside of course, is DOING the bl**dy work. 14 hour days/7 days a week for the next month or so. Hey ho. I will hopefully eventually be able to save enough for a new kitchen to replace the hell-hole that I currently use.
I’m having a bad week (sorry). I have had to take my DH to outpatients every morning at 8.00am. HOWEVER, probably as a result of this, I booked two holidays for next year with a girlfriend.
Probably sounds a strange thing to say, but it was the funeral of a friend. It was a church service and such a celebration of her life with a packed congregation and songs by The Carpenters, Kenny Rogers and Glenn Campbell that it was the most uplifting moment of my week.
A friend who has been temping for years and had many disappointments when turned down for permanent positions she had applied for, phoned on Tuesday to say she has finally been offered and has accepted a permanent job in her chosen field.
I ordered lots of Christmas presents to send to my Australian relatives as well as quite a few things for my granddaughter! We went to the cinema for the first time in over a year. We saw Dune, which is highly recommended. I made a batch of my favourite muffins - ginger and rum. Yummy.
We saw a seal in the sea close to where we live, it was a lovely moment
Happy that my DD& Sil’s house purchase has finally gone through, they get the keys on Monday. They will at last have some stability and a home of their own ?
My husband had his long awaited knee replacement surgery this week (he's in full grumble mode because it's sore, but both of these things will pass).
I met up with 3 good friends from work days and we had a great lunch and a giggle together.
I am seeing my sisters this afternoon.
It is my birthday today. Would have been pension day if I and thousands of other women hadn't been done over by the change in pension age. Erm, thinking about this last dt paragraph, maybe not such a joyous occasion....
