It’s my second week at the gym and I’ve managed to stick to it, even when I’ve been called into work I have gone into the gym before work so that has made me happy..?

Yesterday my daughter took me out for Afternoon Tea, long postponed.
Today I sang with my choir in our first concert, with audience, since December 2019. Lovely feeling to be back.

I wax legs.
Yesterday my client and I were in pieces , we were laughing sooo much.
She had her knee bent, I applied wax.
She touched wax, said “I’m all sticky” so I put some after wax cream on her hands to help get rid of the stickiness.
She then smeared this all over the sticky bit on her leg.
What???
Took me ages to get it off whilst we were shrieking with laughter. I have been waxing her for about 30years!

Lunched out at our usual Saturday place and joined 23 others on Thursday for lunch for the first time in two years. Both wonderful but Saturdays always make me happy.

My elder son came to see me and we drove to Delamere Forest. The sun was shining through the trees, and it was beautiful.

Still here in the USA. Has anyone been to the Chester Zoo in Cheshire in the UK? My New Favorite Program!!

For the first time since early February, and having had two major health issues and a spinal operation a fortnight ago, I had a day entirely without painkillers. Wow! So grateful. I was not entirely without pain but it was endurable and it bodes very well for the future.

Yes, we have been. Our grandchildren's other grandparents have a season ticket and take the grandchildren every month!

Had lunch with son and DIL and admired everything he had been doing to his Arts and Craft house, which he has finally finished during lockdown and since. It has only taken him 6 years?, but my what a sympathetic lovely restoration he has done.

He is now turning his attention to the garden and planting an orchard this winter in part if it.

It is so good to see your children doing good stuff. Found myself smiling thinking about it.

What a nice thread this is!

Our lovely GD had her 6th birthday, and we were able to all sing Happy Birthday while in the same room!

I had a watercolour lesson from a book, with not bad results. It's called Watercolor Workbook by Sarah Simon (note the US spelling for the book). It was a nice hour spent doing something non-essential, but fun.

DH made a batch of cookies, and they are delightful. I work still, and there's nothing like walking into the house with the smell of baking.

That I will see both my grandchildren. Both will be staying at DS 50 miles away and I will travel to see them

My eldest gd knocked on my door this morning. What a lovely surprise! She came home from Uni yesterday and didn’t tell anyone she was coming home, just for the weekend. What joy! ❤️

Lots of times. I grew up not far from Chester. I haven’t been recently, though.

I had a lovely 3 hour lesson today with 2 delightful students.

And a bath with my DGS. Adorable little boy.

Tomorrow we’re visiting our son’s family to celebrate our granddaughter’s 3rd birthday. She FaceTimed us earlier in the week (on her actual birthday) and was hilariously funny.

Two days ago I got a call from my ‘granddaughter’ to say that she not only passed her grammar school entrance exam, but she got the second highest mark. I’m so proud of her parents for all the support they’ve given her - dad has been in the UK for a long time, but mum came from China more recently and at the time of her daughter’s birth she had only just passed the Life in the UK Test. I was her English teacher, but became ‘mum’ to both her and her husband. (In fact I was present at the baby’s birth, named her, and was the first person to hold her - she’s my granddaughter in all but her DNA.)

Yesterday my husband read me a very long text message he got from the man who was our children’s au pair 25 years ago; he’s now a lawyer with his own practice, married to a judge, and has three little girls (the youngest is named after me). The text was to remind us that he still loves us very much and wants us to go and visit him again. My husband and I spent a very happy half hour reminiscing about some of the many scrapes this young man got himself into. In fact I’m smiling again now just thinking about it. ??

Thank you Shinamea for asking the question
We all need to stop and ask ourselves this, especially in these troubled times.

I had a wonderful Wednesday when I made a delicious mushroom soup and I felt utterly happy all that day grin

An evening out with 10 close friends. Good food, more wine than usual and great company with lots of laughter

In the supermarket yesterday, a lady stopped me to ask if I'd made the jacket I was wearing. I've crocheted on and off for many years and this was the first garment I'd made for myself. I used lots of bright scraps of yarn, contrasted with some dark grey. It's quite eye catching and I'd been a bit shy of wearing it, being a small rotund gran of nearly 70. She was a fellow crocheter and her lovely compliments really made my day.

White wave - yes and all the more special because lockdown and health issues meant it was 18 months since this group got together
