My family has decided on doing a secret Santa present this year….I prefer covert Father Christmas but that does rhyme so well! My problem is I have drawn my granddaughter…..still recovering from a brain injury, has autism, and a wannabe goth! Any clever ideas? Budget is £40.

One of my Grandsons, more or less on the spectrum., loves my furry throws, which are the softest of soft.
His own bedroom room is now grey with black bed and black bedding, black computer. He has a Lava Lamp. What I have bought him is a soft small grey rug from Dunhelm . It is gorgeously soft. When he stays with me he rolls around on my very expensive white ones. But white was out.
I have also bought him a scooter. All the children of 4 up around here have scooters.

What about some jet jewellery from Whitby? The Goths spiritual home.

Hmmm. Some goth-ish makeup and/or jewelry? Makeup and nails always goes down a storm and it's the most obvious way of expressing her style!

Definitely some funky make-up, appropriate heavy jewellery, and black tights and socks.

Have you tried online goth/alt stores? There's also a place in MCR, Affleck's Palace, where you can find anything and everything for goths. They have a website to browse. Hope that helps

Maremia

Be careful of aromatherapy products for someone with a brain injury.

Could you explain why, please? I don't have anyone with brain injury but am curious now!

I have a family member who is 16 and has the same “goth” style: my go to’s are fluffy socks (always darker colours) but no glitter threads cos that makes them itchy. Oversized plain hoodies/tshirts so I generally buy from the gents dept in Primark and again I stick to black/grey colour palette. I’ve bought phone covers with sugar skulls on for about £10 from Amazon - just need to find out what kind of phone she has. Wireless headphones are always good too - little earbud ones that can sync up with her phone. Sometimes you can also buy a wee funky cover/skin for the headphones. Soft woolly hat with a pompom (usually black), soft cotton scarf, fingerless gloves. And sweets - I always buy sweets!! Hope some of this was helpful.
