One of my male friends painted my nails.
He does them far better than I can.

When it's cold, wet and snowy outside, my lovely warm bed makes me smile. I've stayed put watching TV and drinking coffee whilst the dog snores by my feet.

I found a car wash that was actually working. The one that I got stuck in a few weeks ago is still not repaired. But today I found one that was and my car is now clean at long last!
(not very exciting, I know, but I was tickled pink.)

Looking at the horrible weather, staying indoors, lighting the fire and getting on with the decorating

CanadianGran

I came around the corner while doing chores this morning, and my little dog was lying in the middle of the kitchen floor on her back with her legs up, waiting for a belly-rub. She's so cute and funny sometimes.

Also the hummingbird was waiting for his food to be refilled, after we had a wicked wind storm yesterday.

How lovely to read your post CanadianGran. We have very happy memories of visiting an Aunt on Vancouver Island and watching the humming birds visit her feeder, sadly she passed away three years ago. My husband managed to catch some lovely photos of them. Your little dog sounds lovely. We had the bad wind storm yesterday as well and it is still blustery today.

Met my elder daughter and six year old grandson in town for shopping and to look at the Christmas trees in the public gardens. Cold but bracing and very Christmassy! Inspected said grandson’s gappy grin as he has just lost three front teeth-I believe the tooth fairy is on her way…!

The sight of a vase of tulips in the sitting room. Although on their last legs, some standing, some drooping gracefully making a beautiful display.

Yes Kalu I too love the arty vision of tulips as they start to wane ?

There is a surprise birthday party for my son tonight and my daughter and son-in-law are travelling down from St Albans so it will be lovely to see them as well as to see my son’s face when he realises he has a party…???

The new perfume I’d treated myself to arrived a day early and I like it.

Sitting in front of a nice log burner after spending an hour cleaning the freezer. Have been trying to empty it for weeks so satisfied now it's done ready for Xmas. And OH has just made me a snack.

My football team beat Swansea for the first time in 13 years, and the first time in 20 years ‘away’ ? ⚽️

I got up early, wrapped up well and took the dog out for a nice walk in the snow then went off and had my Covid booster, I have my youngest grandson coming to stay tonight so I’m looking forward to seeing him.

I also braved the wind and rain to join our village community choir singing carols at a big Christmas fare. Singing is a great way to lift ones mood, I always come home smiling.

A good friend of long standing visited and we had a good long chat about absolutely everything. Wept and laughed and both felt better for it. Doesn’t take a lot to make a day worthwhile!

Meeting my new Step Grandson yesterday and spending more time with him today, he even fell asleep on me, priceless!

Aveline Sat 27-Nov-21 17:50:46

That is priceless MollyG!

Seeing him for the first time today and holding him in my arms

I have recently left my job and assumed (due to low self esteem and recent problems with new manager) that I would just leave quietly. I am retiring after near.y nine years. However I was given a small lunch time party and a generous John Lewis voucher.

I am overwhelmed! It has given me such a lift to know I was so well thought of. I do have a very part time job to go to as well, so all in all, things have worked out well in the job department.

How wonderful to have humming birds visiting your garden CanadianGran ?(envy).

I am very keen on Dutch art and have a few pieces so possibly the reason my droopy tulips are so pleasing to me. I also have a few amaryllis beginning to show healthy growth. Just wish I was good enough at art to replicate the miracle of nature onto canvas.

Shelbel Sat 27-Nov-21 18:18:58

Found the exact size wicker baskets I wanted for storage. They fit perfectly.
We also had lunch out sat by the fire in Bruges.

Visited a friend who is planting a woodland on her farm in memory of her late DH, to see the beautiful donkeys she has bought to live there.

Catching a waft of gorgeous perfume off some Christmas soaps in the present pile on my dining table as I came into the room.

Watching birds on our 2 peanut feeders. We have just bought a second one with a counterbalanced arm which moves away from the jar if the bigger birds try to stand on it (the starlings crowd out the small birds on the seed holders). Will have to go out and adjust it though - one chunky robin was just a bit too heavy for it too, and it moved away from the jar just as he took a big peck at it. Didn’t know robins could look surprised!

I met my new little grandson today. He’s had a rocky start. But he’s doing well now and hopefully all will be well.
