What/who made you feel good today?

Welcome to your little grandson Sharina.
That he is now doing well is a good omen. I wish him good health and a happy life.

Two things have made me happy DGS1 (11yrs) has had a very rough few years and struggled with anxiety but at new “big” school is flourishing, passed his exams for the grammar stream and is loving it! Today he told me he had been chosen as a house captain too! I was so proud I cried! (Embarrassing gran moment ?)
The other was a lovely morning workshop at a local nature reserve, making a Christmas door wreath from foraged materials and willow. With coffee and a lovely zesty lemon cake. Lots of fun and nurturing for my soul as I love out door stuff and also making arty things!

I found out this morning that I passed my piano exam. It was the first I’d taken and I let myself down on the day with bad nerves, but I managed to pull myself together and pass. Chuffed to bits!

Making Aquafaba meringues for the first time. Very good.

Found a £5 note down the back of the settee.. Mind you it would have been mine in the first place but I don’t remember losing it .

Taking my dog to the vet and picking him up after some tests, to discover he's going to be fine.

A friend from my WI cookery group turned up on the doorstep with a poinsettia for me. I had just resigned as Programme Secretary and she came to tell me what a good job I had done over the last 5 years. She is a lady with a lot on her plate and she took the time to do this, I was extremely touched by her kindness.

Walking my dog in the snow! Lots of cheerful chats about how crazy we are turning into snowpeople with others doing the same thing!

The wind has stopped and the sun has come out ?

Woke up to discover one of my grandsons is now my granddaughter! We're going clothes shopping next week

Just a slight thing, but I am looking out of the window at the front of the house, and thinking how pleasant everything looks, in the sunshine.
It has just occurred to me that there are no cars about; the one parked opposite my house all weekend has disappeared; the two vans and private car opposite on the left have vanished as has the extremely large camper van, a permanent fixture for two years, on the right. The cars belonging to the two houses at the bottom of the cul-de-sac have also gone. Could it be, could it possibly be, that people are actually using their garages, because of the wind?

We just came back from a lovely carvery lunch out and walk round local castle grounds. All looking lovely in the snow. Was very happy but then, as we entered our block of flats, the caretaker had left a tub of chocolates on the hall table and an advent card telling us all to help ourselves to a chocolate or three. What a nice thought.
A lovely Sunday altogether. One to remember when things are not so good.

My wreath - delivered yesterday.

The lady from our travel agent who told me I can move the holiday we sould have gone on on Saturday to another date . We are not willing to travel at the moment but no option just to cancel .We have a few days to decide what to do who know what the situation will be in three months time ?

My granddaughters’ pleasure when they opened their Advent calendars ready for Wednesday.

Being taken out (with my husband) by our son, who picked us up, took us to Miller & Carter, where we had a lovely lunch, some wine, some laughs, then back to son's house for cheesecake.

Watching the snow fall, while sat round the fire.

News that the 5 year old son of DD3s friend was home from hospital and doing brilliantly after undergoing 2 open heart surgeries in 10 days.
