Lewis Hamilton and his Mum

Lovely to see Lewis Hamilton knighted, he is a young man who has achieved so much. Great to see he took his mum to the ceremony I’m sure she was super proud. She’s dressed to head to toe in Chanel, I like the outfit apart from the frilly blouse, but maybe that’s just me. Anyone else agree?

It’s very Per Una circa 15 years ago.
I’m warming to Lewis Hamilton, and it’s lovely to see him sharing his special moment with his Mum.

I’m not overly keen on those pie crust collars but the frilly cuffs look nice as it softens the look. That jacket might have just looked a bit ‘office-y’ otherwise. Yes I agree vegansrock one super-proud mum!

FannyCornforth Thu 16-Dec-21 06:56:28

I’m quite surprised that it’s Chanel!

Urmstongran Thu 16-Dec-21 06:57:10

I’ve always liked LH! ??

Urms I think that he annoyed me (and others) when he moved to Monaco and said that it was because he wanted anonymity (nothing to do with taxes!)
I’ve since forgiven him, I’m softening with age!

Brilliant News! Well deserved Lewis and it must have come as some form of joy after Sunday's controversial race.
The blouse looks a bit Laura Ashley to me.

They both look so proud. I’ve always been a fan of his.

Lovely occasion. One very proud Mum! Not sure about the outfit though!

Jaxjacky Thu 16-Dec-21 07:29:10

I think she looks fine, perhaps it is an outfit she’s had a while and knows it’s comfortable.

I was quite surprised that Lewis wore a conventional suit as he's known for more outrageous outfits, however he did have a ruby broach at his throat to match the medal. His mother has always kept out of the limelight so I suspect it might have been a nerve-racking occasion for her but she must be very proud, I thought she looked lovely, very age appropriate. Well done Lewis, you deserve it

A super photo of a young man for whom DH and I have much admiration. He makes us proud to be British, not least to see how he has reached the heights of his sport, despite his humble origins. A well deserved honour! (and we love his outfit!)

It’s a 10 from me for Lewis’s mum’s outfit. Many older ladies like to have their throat and neck covered and the collar of her blouse did that in a stylish way.
I like Lewis’s smart look too - and I believe his mum and dad have a son they can be very proud of.
Lewis’s brother is also a lovely young man.
Well done Lewis!

Oh please don't critique her outfit, she is a normal woman and someone's MUM!

J52 Thu 16-Dec-21 08:13:12

I thought she looked lovely, and so proud. BTW her bag is the small Lady Dior.

Of course she is and nobody is criticising her as such, just fashion chat surely ? I like the outfit too apart from the blouse which has too big a collar IMHO

Beswitched Thu 16-Dec-21 08:58:36

She looks lovely and very proud. Bit unkind to start a thread publicly criticising her outfit. She's not a celebrity, just a proud mum who wants to do her son justice on his big day.

PamelaJ1 Thu 16-Dec-21 09:03:03

If I had a son that had just received such an honour I would be so proud.
I would then be mortified if I read this thread.

tickingbird Thu 16-Dec-21 09:04:54

I wouldn’t have know that outfit was Chanel but she looks fine. The bag’s Dior though.

I do feel a bit bad about what I’ve said now; but I always notice and comment on people’s clothes.
Like some people like talking about food or politics.
‘I didn’t mean to be so rude’, to paraphrase a MN cliche. smile

Exactly, 1000 times. Honestly!

Josianne Thu 16-Dec-21 09:13:11

Don't feel bad ladies. If the OP had just announced this as News, then no one would have commented on Lewis's mum's attire. But because the OP added a photo of course there was bound to be comments about her outfit.
I rather like this new trend on GN of adding photos, but then I am a visual person. Some people's perceptions vary.

Come on Kali plenty of people critique appearance on the political threads.

Beswitched Thu 16-Dec-21 09:15:38

But she did add a photo, criticised part of the outfit and then invited other posters to comment.

Maybe because there is NO forum for Fashion?
