Flossiebo Tue 21-Dec-21 06:04:58

Good Morning Mick and everyone else.
Still trying to dig myself out of my fug, ridiculous - I have so little to be miserable about!
Going swimming this morning, after a long break, so hopefully the cold north sea might give me a kick up the bum, then off to shop for my old dad.
Take care all x

Gagagran Tue 21-Dec-21 06:10:57

Morning Mick and all who follow. It's chilly here on the south coast (5deg) so pack your thermals Mick!

We ordered a new bedside table at the weekend, with a delivery date of 15 to 20 working days so were pleased and surprised to get a notification of delivery today!

Glad to see soop has exceeded her Go Fund Me target as GN and others have rallied round to help her. Much deserved and hope 2022 brings her relief from her awful condition.

DH is going on a planned ride with his bike club this morning so I shall be able to do some more pottering.

Have the best day you can everyone. sunshine

Morning Flossie - rather you than me in the North Sea!! [tchgrin}

Pantglas2 Tue 21-Dec-21 06:17:51

Buen dia Mick and all who follow from a dry and dark ??.

I’m lolling abed with ☕️ which DH has kindly made - he’s had a tickly cough for the last 10 days and most considerately gets up so that I sleep in....(not so considerately he’s also passed it to me and I’m hoping it doesn’t develop further ?)

Lovely to see that soop has achieved the target and I do hope she gets her op sooner now - health is the greatest gift we can have isn’t it?

Hope all the testing that’s going on here with families & friends, even if positive, doesn’t mean folks are too ill with it and they get away lightly! I tested DH on Saturday before visiting friends and it was negative - relief ?‍♀️

Off to get some provisions this morning and will have brunch out - churros and chocolate for himself and tostada con tomate for me ?

Take care folks and hasta luego x

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. The shortest day is here at last, roll on the lighter days.

Good news about soop’s fund.

Shiver my timbers flossie you’re brave going in the cold sea.

I’ve to pick up my prescription this morning. I’ll go early and see if I can get a free parking space. I’ve a few things to do for my brother and depending how I get on he may call by this evening.

Take care and stay safe all and as well as you can including little Dollie ??

Susan56 Tue 21-Dec-21 06:27:59

Good morning from Shropshire.

Up early as the boiler is being serviced at 8.Then laundry and housework. The excitement never ends!!

DD and DH both saw GP’s yesterday so a step further forward I hope??

School holidays so a break from childcare. We love looking after the children but as Urms says it can be tiring but we have the school holidays to recharge our batteries. We will possibly look after H for a couple of hours later if DH is feeling better??

Hope the PCR tests have arrived back with the right results??

Have a good time all with family meet ups and thoughts to all unwell and those struggling.

Take care all and stay safe??

Good morning, everyone, from a calm Torbay. The weather seems stuck in a rut of overcast skies which is dreary.

We are delighted to read that enough money has been raised for soop to have her surgery. What a wonderful Christmas present!

Still no sign of DH’s PCR result this morning. I hope grandMattie’s DS has received his by now and it is negative.

A brave lady to swim in the North Sea, Flossiebo! Brrh! For various reasons, I think a few of us are lacking the usual joy of Christmas time this year. Having too many uncertainties and a government that lacks sound leadership cause concern.

But I know we should be thankful for surviving. Have a good day, everyone! ?????

Urmstongran Tue 21-Dec-21 06:51:15

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and dark. Seems cold out. We are off over to mind the grandchildren in 20 minutes. Last day of childcare as mummy finishes work tonight. That’s both of us delighted. She said yesterday that 2 children at the childminder’s for 4 x 8 hour days would have cost them hundreds of pounds. I should have said “Merry Christmas this is your present”.

Fabulous news isn’t it about soops GFM total raised? What a wonderful team effort from everybody.

Enjoy Tuesday all who can. I may need to ring the dentist as niggling toothache again woke me at 3am. Here’s Matt. x

Scentia Tue 21-Dec-21 06:52:03

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still mild out there.
Flossiebo I envy you actually, there is nothing like a wild swim to get you back on track❤️
Off with the DGC to Woolaton Park to meet my DS and her GC today. She is packing up lunch so I am just in need of my hat and coat!! I have done my LFT and we are good to go. I must not use them all up though as I cannot get them for love nor money at the moment. I will pop in a few chemists to try.
Take care everyone and stay safe.❤️

Urmstongran Tue 21-Dec-21 06:55:45

Try again.

grandMattie Tue 21-Dec-21 06:56:32

A late Good Morning from E Kent. Being one of the two shortest days (tonight is the solstice), it is still dark. About 5 1/2 hours daylight today ☹️ But dry.
Had a bad day yesterday, spent most of it snivelling from sadness, disappointment, pain and general misery. Today? Well, I’ll try to follow my own advice and Carpe diem .
We have had no results of DS1’s PCR test yet. What is the point of paying £10 for express PO services if they do bug..r all? And one is hamstrung, with the test already gone…. I’ve resigned myself to spending Christmas here, to the Bristol lot’s disappointment.
Hope young Dollie is doing ok. May everyone have a kind day, May wishes come true, flamingos ? ambush you, and sunshine ☀️ in your lives. ??????

dragonfly46 Tue 21-Dec-21 07:11:57

Good morning from dark Leicestershire.

It is our 53rd Wedding Anniversary today. We got married on the shortest day and the sun shone all day - it was bright, cold and crispy!

So sorry to hear you had a bad day yesterday GrandMattie. I hope that you have a better day and that result comes through. There are still a few days to go before Christmas.

Great news for soop just shows what can be done when we all pull together.

Also hoping Dollie is okay.

dragonfly46 Tue 21-Dec-21 07:13:16

Scentia I ordered an LFT pack online yesterday.

Marydoll Tue 21-Dec-21 07:21:24

Good morning Mick and all from a Glasgow, where it’s a chilly 2°
Gosh, so many of you up already!
beyond midnight, watching Soop's fund creep up to the final total. I actually felt my heart jump, when it suddenly reached the magic number. It has been such a great effort by gransnettersto achieve this.
Kalu are I trying to arrange a red carpet and a piper to welcome Soop, for when she comes down to Glasgow. Nothing, but the best for Queen Soop.

However, my eyes are practically glued shut with tiredness and I really need to wrap the remaining presents, but my fingers are no longer nimble and the parcels look like a five year old child has wrapped them!

Thank goodness the Covid warriors are doing reasonably Ok at the moment. They feel as very fatigued and as if they have a heavy cold, fingers crossed it stays that way.
Thank you all for your good wishes you sent yesterday for wee Dollie.

I ended up doing very little yesterday, apart from –-lazing--resting in the conservatory, watching Turkish dramas! I tell DH it’s all part of my personal development. I have learned some of the Turkish language, about the culture and cuisine and the scenery is beautiful. He can’t argue with that, can he? ?
DD has taken to phoning me on the landline to check that I am not gadding out and about, I could always pretend I was being good, if she phoned on my mobile, so the landline it is! She has taken on the role of my mother! wink

I have a question for those who have Alexas. Can anyone tell my why our Alexa’s voice has changed from that of a woman to someone, who sounds remarkably like Cliff Richard. In fact I am sure it is Cliff Richard. I got the shock of my life, when he first spoke without being asked. He really should know his place. It’s actually quite creepy, as the other devices still have a woman's voice. I did ask him why he was speaking in a male voice, he said he had no idea either! ?

Glad to hear that your family managed to get some medical help yesterday, but sorry to hear about the non results from the PCRs. I hope they come today.
I will go and read all the posts, accompanied by my cuppa, which my butler has just brought.

A special thank you to the poster on here, who yesterday, kindly shared a personal, medical email with me, regarding some positive news. It has given me a glimmer of hope.

Have a good day, everyone. Well as best you can!

Jaxjacky Tue 21-Dec-21 07:25:16

Good morning all, a chilly, dry 5deg in S Hants. Lovely to wake up and hear soop’s target is there, incredible.
I too have a niggly tooth Urms and may make a similar call for some antibiotics.
How frustrating for those awaiting PCR results, all trying to do the right thing and ‘the system’ lets you down.
Today is MrJ’s last day at work for the break, no more alarm clock for a while.
Bits and bobs to do today.
May you all have a pleasant day with some ? and ???.

Grandmadinosaur Tue 21-Dec-21 07:27:09

Good morning from dark East Yorkshire.

Dragonfly Happy Anniversary to you and Mr Dragonfly - enjoy your day ?

I had a lovely lunch out yesterday with my friend and we enjoyed West side story.

Today I have coffee morning and after that I need to collect something ordered and hopefully finish my present shopping. I am so disorganised this year.
Take care everyone.

maydonoz Tue 21-Dec-21 07:28:04

Good morning all
Another one here awaiting PCR results, it's a week tomorrow since we returned from our trip and are still isolating.
We contacted the company yesterday only to find they had just received our tests, eventhough we sent them on Friday! I had hoped they would work over the weekend but they only work a half day on Saturday, considering how much they charge.
Anyway we must be patient and hope today will bring some good news.
Wishing all a good day with some brightness here and there.

Marydoll Tue 21-Dec-21 07:28:06

Sorry, about the garbled post, I am really not with it, this morning! blush

monk08 Tue 21-Dec-21 07:29:06

Good morning all from the Black country to dark to see what weather doing but I know its dry.
Hairdressers this morning, then will give Santa a helping hand and deliver a few presents.
Happy Anniversary Dragonfly ?? and best wishes to anyone else celebrating. Hope young Dollie is ok and it is not affecting her to much.
Have the best day you can everyone and may you all find some ?.

baubles Tue 21-Dec-21 07:32:00

Good morning Mick, morning all from dark and damp South Lanarkshire.

Flossiebo hope you feel better after your swim! Brrrrrr?.

gMattie I’m sorry you had a bad day yesterday, I hope today is a little brighter for you.

The delay in PCR results is scuppering plans for so many people, everything crossed negative results are received today.

So pleased for our dear soop, Gransnet at its best.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

cornergran Tue 21-Dec-21 07:32:37

Morning Mick, morning All. It looks dry outside, our corner of Somerset seems darker than usual this morning.

Little sleep but I feel fine. Goodness, those PCRs must be more than frustrating. Fingers crossed for positive outcomes today. Sorry you had a bad day grandMattie, understandable.

Excellent news for soop this morning. I can imagine the joy. Hope dollie is ok and the sun reappears for you today dragonfly. Best get that tooth checked urms. No one wants toothache for Christmas.

Lunch with our granddaughters today, not sure what else

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

maydonoz Tue 21-Dec-21 07:36:16

I forgot to say Congrats to Soop on achieving her GFM target for her surgery, and well done to all who contributed. It is indeed a wonderful gift, you must be so delighted Soop.

kittylester Tue 21-Dec-21 07:37:44

Good morning all from a still dark North Leicestershire.

Congratulations to dragonfly and her husband. flowers

No tiler today or for the foreseeable future. He's a nice man and does a good job but I am pleased he's not here. DH is driving this morning so I should be able to get organised without interruptions.

Marydoll Tue 21-Dec-21 07:43:21

Happy anniversary, to the Dragonflys/ Dragonflies, I hope you have a lovely day!

Dragonfly, I am so pleased to see you posting again, you were missed! ?
