Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looks dry outside here in brackley .
The last of the bank holidays now until mid April , must start to plan my year ahead with holiday breaks etc .
I have got that used to staying in , its slightly changed my routine , mind the xmas break ,gave an opportunity to see others both on the coach I was on, and from elsewhere.
Take care,
Mick

Good morning all and my post has just disappeared. ?.

Thanks everyone including Marydoll , Kalu and Susan for your prayers and kind wishes for my DD. She ‘might’ be home today but she must keep her foot elevated, so I’m in for a busy (busier) time. Who would think that one little mole could cause all this pain and trouble. Just shows we have to be so careful.

My thoughts are with all those with problems, I’ll health and worries. It’s so lovely that we all care about each other. ❤️.

PS - is it a Bank Holiday today? ?.

Best wishes to all

Good morning all from Polmont. It's only just daylight, 8°, very windy and pouring rain. Not a day for going far. I hope you all have a good day.

ginny Mon 03-Jan-22 08:32:35

Good morning. Mild and damp here in N. Bucks. No storm for us yesterday but we did have some rain.
We arrived at the restaurant for lunch yesterday only to find it closed ! Two other groups also arrived having booked on line like us. We are waiting for a reply to our email ! Luckily we were able to go elsewhere and it was very pleasant.
We have DD3s dog today so he will keep us busy. Might make a start on taking down the decorations.
Kind thoughts to all.

Grandmajean Mon 03-Jan-22 08:33:29

Good morning from Cheshire.
Got most of the decorations down yesterday. Only a few to finish today.
I like to treat myself to a little bunch of daffodils in January. They look so different from all the bright lights and baubles of Christmas. Might just see if any available in local Waitrose which is the nearest supermarket.
Hope today brings some sunshine - real or metaphorical ?

harrigran Mon 03-Jan-22 08:36:15

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Very quiet day yesterday, decided I wasn't going to do housework so sat myself in front of the TV and watched some films on Netflix.
Today I will make an effort and do the laundry and tidy up.
DD and SIL were going to visit his brother, cancelled at last minute again due to another case of covid. Three times over the holiday it has been arranged and cancelled, DD probably won't get to see them now as she will have to return to Brussels this week.
For all the sad and poorly people flowers

Enjoy your day all ???

Plan to go and sit with DH for a little while though he no longer responds at all. I read some poetry rather than just chat though whether he gets any comfort from my voice is unknowable. It is all I can do for him so I will persevere. The next few days are likely to see the end of this.

Thoughts with all travelling and with DC travelling and with those struggling to pick up the pieces of post-Christmas life. An improvement in the weather would help but today is grey and dampish which I guess is better than frost and snow.

I am sure he will be aware of your presence - and as well as doing it for him, you will remember these last days of love in months, even years to come ?

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun has popped over the horizon again and it’s very windy today.
I had a quiet day yesterday taking down the decorations and tidying all the mess (why does an artificial tree drop its bits everywhere?). The bags and box are in the spare bedroom waiting for a visitor to help me get them back in the loft.
The afternoon was spent picking up stitches for the neck of collar of a jumper I am knitting.
Today’s excitement is going out for milk and —perhaps— a walk.
flowers for all those who need them this morning.
GrannySomerset especially for you. As one who has walked a similar path my heart goes out to you.
Take care everyone.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire, there is rain in the air though.

The decorations were taken down and put away yesterday so not much planned today. I may phone a few friends.
Things will start opening up tomorrow. I have had enough of Bank Holidays.

Sending love and best wishes to all.

Good morning from another mild morning in Colchester. The sky is a light greyish blue and it's dry.
It's definitely a Bank Holiday as The Railway Children has just started on BBC1.
The decorations were packed away for another year yesterday.
I've sorted the recycling and made a shopping list so far this morning.
DH and I will walk to Lidl and pick up a few necessaries. No need for the car as DS is driving back to base later today so we don't need masses of food in. Leftover beef in a curry tonight.
Back to some semblance of normality here tomorrow.

Love to all ?x

Scentia Mon 03-Jan-22 09:09:06

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it feels mild again.
I have no plans for this last day of the holiday. I cannot sit down as my leg hurts and I cannot drive so I am relying on DH to go shopping for my DD party tea stuff for tomorrow. I will have the DGC here and as it is her 27th we will do her a party tea for when she gets home. It will be rubbish as DH just will not look around a supermarket to get the right stuff, if it doesn’t jump out and say ‘here I am’ it won’t go in the trolly!! I may go with him and endure 10 minutes in the car, I will sit on one bum cheek?
I have had such a quiet and relaxing holiday I am reluctant to get back to normal tomorrow, but life must return to normal and work beckons on Wednesday. Mind you, as I can’t sit down I am not getting much rest to be fair. I will read your posts with a cuppa and a croissant right now.
Stay safe my friends❤️

Good Morning, seems to be dry just now , pinkish fluffy clouds drifting in the breeze
Nothing planned for today , but I must decide whether to rip or keep on crocheting , not thrilled with it at the moment
GrannySomerset I’m sure he hears your voice , I hope you get some comfort from it as well xxx'

Good morning from a sunny and windy south yorkshire. Lovely day yesterday with a visit from DD1 and her partner. DS1 and his family joined us for tea, lots of laughter and fun. Had made everyone do a lateral flow test first though so should all be ok ?
Today out with our walking group which is always fun. Have a good day everyone

NannyJan53 Mon 03-Jan-22 09:11:02

Good morning from a bright but very wet Black Country.

Had an unexpected walk to the park with a friend who lives nearby yesterday. It was so warm we didn't need coats. Then home to take down the Decorations whilst MrJ watched the Villa match. Then he boxed them up and took them to the shed.

It is Mums 92nd birthday today, so we are having a family lunch at DD's as she has the bigger house and Mum lives nearby. I am taking my Lasagne and SIL and Brother a vegetarian dish. DS and family cannot make it as they have been in contact with a Covid positive person!

Morning all, am slightly ashamed as am still in bed whilst loads of you have been up and about for hours. I’ve been woken up by the bin men doing their rounds. Back to work tomorrow so making the most of not having the alarm on. NY resolution was to go to bed earlier so I would do earlier starts but have failed miserably in the first week. Try again tomorrow. The dark mornings do me no favours. Gardening today unless husband decides he’s up to a longish walk, he’s still got the annual cold the GC bring him every December. Perhaps I ought to make him a lemsip ?

Mapleleaf Mon 03-Jan-22 09:40:08

Good morning,

It’s a lovely, bright morning today, with blue sky - feels so much better than all that dismal, grey stuff we had all over Christmas.

Had a trip out to the seaside yesterday which was so nice. It feels good to feel the sea air on your face, doesn’t it? It remained dry and bright whilst we were there, but the skies were starting to darken and look stormy when we left about 2 pm.

Not sure what’s on the agenda today, apart from putting away a few decorations ( not all, most remain until 12th night). There’s quite a lot, so best done in stages.

Take care everyone. ? to all of you with worries and troubles.

Susan56 Mon 03-Jan-22 09:40:33

Good morning from Shropshire.

Thank you for the posts and messages yesterday. We are both definitely improving as the days go by.baubles, rest as much as you can and hope you feel better soon.

We will just do as much as we can today and then rest some more?

Gingster, I hope your daughter can come home today.Your little granddaughter must be missing her.It is hard work for you though so look after yourself too?

GrannySomerset, our thoughts and prayers are with you, your DH and family.I am sure that he will know you are there and that your voice will bring comfort.?

Good morning everyone from a bright Northampton.

It was so nice to get out to rugby yesterday, see some people (well, 15000 actually), and actually talk to some of them, especially DD and her husband. All Covid vax passes had to be shown before entry. Sadly the match didn't go our way despite my lucky socks.... We had a heavy downpour during the first half which luckily didn't last long, and soon the sun was shining again. DD brought me home afterwards so I didn't have to get on a crowded bus.

No plans for today really, read the papers, do the puzzles, catch up on tv, and probably start a new book. Can't think what to have for dinner tonight.

Hoping for the best day for everyone.

Good morning from W Kent and a very belated Happy New Year, spent new year waiting for the results of family PCR tests all negative, this heavy cold has a lot to answer for!
Last of the decorations down today. Best wishes to all.

GrannyOwl5 Mon 03-Jan-22 09:51:16

Good morning everyone from a grey north Kent coast, but at least it’s dry and we occasionally see glimpses of the sun.

Spent yesterday taking down the Christmas decorations exposing the dust so some housework on the cards today. Was supposed to be having DS and DD and their families over today, but those plans have been scuppered by son in law testing positive on new year’s eve. So far the rest of the family are negative. Decided to postpone the family get together for later in the month. Managed to get most of the food into the freezer.

Intend to assist (^offer useful suggestions^) to DH whilst he assembles the new cordless lawn mower. Foresee a minor case of domestic disharmony looming!

Thoughts with all struggling; ?for GrannySomerset.

Have a pleasant Monday

LauraNorderr Mon 03-Jan-22 09:52:43

Good morning Mick, good morning all from bright and sunny Anglesey.
A walk beckons this morning followed by a zoom get together with friends in France organised by the only tech savvy one in the group.
Thinking of you GrannySomerset and anyone else in need of comforting vibes.
???

Good morning from a bright, cold Durham. No real plans but I’ve a new vacuum cleaner still to unbox - so might do that and give it a bit of fun on the carpet!
?GS - takes me back to my DH - I’m sure yours will know your voice. Difficult days.

Kalu Mon 03-Jan-22 10:13:01

Good morning everyone. We had a very stormy night with torrential rain in Glasgow, very dreich day and going nowhere as DH did a waitrose shopping yesterday, we will hunker down faffing about which will include trimming DH’s hair. I seem to have taken on the role as his personal hairdresser!

Goodness, grandM, it seems as if your DS hasn’t long arrived and he is off again. Wishing him a smooth journey back to India and hope his hand isn’t too troublesome. Now you know that the journey is possible now, I hope it isn’t too long until his next visit.
You are still in my thoughts GrannySomerset. Your DH will still be aware of your presence which will be a comfort to him.
Sending love and strength to help you both.
Really hoping your DD is allowed home today and recovers well after her ordeal Gingster?
Sorry to hear you are still suffering Baubles. Hope it’s not too long until you feel much improved. Stay snuggled down at home looking after yourself.

Wishing a pleasant day for all and a brighter day for those with worries, whatever they may be.
