Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looks dry outside here in brackley .
The last of the bank holidays now until mid April , must start to plan my year ahead with holiday breaks etc .
I have got that used to staying in , its slightly changed my routine , mind the xmas break ,gave an opportunity to see others both on the coach I was on, and from elsewhere.
Take care,
Mick

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
Must away to shower in a minute, but just being lazy and catching up with iPad and friends on here, and thinking of GrannySomerset.
Yesterday our grand daughter, her husband and our beautiful great granddaughter were here. They brought lunch with them and we had a lovely afternoon. It did rain, but I didn't notice it much, only when I got up to get a cup of tea.
I think today we will put away the decorations and read all the cards again.
Last night, I started a new Jack Reacher book, and so far am enjoying it.
My friend asked me to knit a jumper for her, which I was pleased to do, but the yarn is silky and slippy, and the pattern is complicated. I may have to rethink.
We bought some new mugs a couple of days ago, so there are half a dozen to be re- homed at the charity shop later this week.
Have a good day one and all

Good morning all.
Not long back from getting my 4th jab, thats me now fully done! I caused a bit of a stir at the vac. centre, I was the first one they had had for a 4th jab!
Not much planned today, I am going to bake later but first I have this mornings papers and this thread to read through.
Safe safe everyone, and hugs for all that need them.

Good Morning all from Sunny Harrogate!! Chilly, though.
Haven't read your posts, will have to do that later.
The microwave I gained on Saturday is no good. The You can't see what's happening inside, thing the door glass has been scrubbed and the light is dim anyway. Back to my old one! But think i will splash out and purchase a new one in a month or two.
Today is my chatty day when I speak to my school friend shortly, I have to remember it is her birthday in a week or two, so will have to send a card. At some point I have to clear and wipe my desk, thanks to spilling a New Year Liqueur over it - thankfully missing my workbook.
My DD2 hosted a zoom for myself and sisters, she had DGS with her. I asked him, "are you my poppet?" "No" was the answer. "Bear" he informed me, giggling.
Hope everyone can have the best day possible.

Good morning Mick and everybody. Cool and cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 9°C. No rain forecast for today so hoping for another short walk. Once again nothing planned for today, we will see what life brings. The usual physio exercises and cycling (indoors) later.

Enjoy your holiday planning Mick, something to look forward to ?

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief.

GrannySomerset you are in my thoughts x

Good morning Mick and all from sunny N.WARKS. The last few days have been such a change from what seemed like endless weeks of grey. Snow forecast for tomorrow though.

I keep loosing my interwhy.net connection (no idea why) so I'd better send this while I still have access.

Best wishes to everyone.

Good morning from overcast West Sussex.

We have just waved DD and family off. They are heading back home to Scotland. DH and I are collapsed on the sofa with our coffee and trying to adjust to the silence.
We do miss them but 13 year twin DGSs are very full-on. We played Settlers of Catan (board game) yesterday and had forgotten how long these games can last. I must check out Crew, Grandmattie.

Thoughts and prayers with GrannySomerset.

Good Morning from a dark NE Hants, no idea what the weather is (yet). The last of the Christmas decorations will, I hope, be all put away to-day. I'm hoping to make a fish pie, a change from all the turkey and other Christmas fayre. Off for a swim session at 10 for Ladies only, which is always relaxing. One daughter is coming with me and I am then visiting the other who is recovering from a bout of tonsillitis. We will both socially distance, just in case.
A lovely day is wished all.

Good morning all, well it’s not raining and a bit bright but I was fooled yesterday and went for a bike ride. 5 mins into the ride the rain started and it became black overhead. Went up to top speed and just made it to Waitrose when the heavens opened up. So spent a few hours in the cafe reading and drinking but no cake. Today I am going to take it really easy, do my jigsaw puzzle and tidy up a bit. The. Funeral for my dil has at long last been sorted, 27th Jan, and I won’t be going as there will be quite a large amount of people attending, so I am hoping to see it by video. Have a good day everyone,

Good Morning from a bright and breezy Newcastle where it feels quite chilly.
I've just been to Aldi and probably the only person who bought turkey steaks - we didn't have any turkey over Christmas so looking forward to cooking them with green beans, broccoli and lots of lemon juice.
Had a lovely walk yesterday at Tynemouth Long Sands the place was heaving as the weather was so mild. Some brave people were swimming, there were quite a few surfers and masses of dogs. Hard to believe it was only the 2nd day of January.
I hope everyone has the best possible day and special thoughts to those that have worries, illness or facing challenges this new year.

A breezy mild day in rural Oxfordshire. Off to walk the dog shortly, making the most of my last day of the holiday, back to the grindstone tomorrow...well, laptop at the dining room table!
Thinking of those with such difficult paths to tread, it may not seem so, but the sun will shine again for you.

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
Nice day yesterday, meal in highly recommended Italian award winning restaurant with friend, but disappointed. Boring rather dry meatballs with pasta, no garnish and a pavlova with hard meringue. That’s the second meal out in a matter of days that’s disappointed me and I’m not fussy. I do like something green on the plate apart from the steak/chips/pasta etc. Good conversation though. Nostalgic looking at places I knew so well as a teenager in the city. Went to usually quiet old fashioned pub to round the day off, but with a match on, packed out and noisy so gave it a miss.
My daughter has covid in the south, but it is just a typical cold.
Saw her last Thursday but I have no symptoms. It seems many people have it.

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is sunny but blustery.
Just popped in to your post, GrannySomerset. At the end of my FiL’s life we did the same as you, believing he knew we were there, that he could hear us even though he didn’t respond.
You remain in my thoughts.
x

Very late to GN today but hello all Good Morningsters from a grey but still mild mid Cornwall

I read to my mother Grandmasomerset. It helped me in those last few days. Thinking of you. ?

I’m sitting with our build planning sheet and trying to put in a few dates. Looking forward to a call from DD later.

Good Morning All x ( while it still is )
A lovely day of sunshine and brightness which makes you want to do the long-awaited jobs around the house-----Not ! grin
I've got as much energy as flying in the air.

After the umpteenth morning fiddling with the TV, I found I couldn't receive many programmes now--BBC1 etc and all the other familiar ones so I have to rely on Sky news now, the Drama channel and Quest. Roll on Wednesday when I can perhaps get someone out, no doubt I'll be £250 or so lighter !

My word I enjoyed my roast beef dinner yesterday, it went down a treat and proved to be very satisfying indeed. The rest I'll have today with creamed pots. this time with a blob of horseradish mixed in. The remaining parsnip and carrots and sprouts and a fresh fruit salad to use up the fruits.

Usual thoughts to those who are feeling sad/ worried, I hope there will be calm to lighten the load. x

Feeling Urms excitement at flying off. By far the best way to enjoy retirement. Safe journey's to those returning to their destinations after the holiday.

Nothing on my agenda for the time being though I must get a calendar and transfer Birthdays or I'll be stumped. Then do the same in my new address book as so many crossings out now in the old one so enough to do to keep me out of mischief.

Well gone coffee time so I'll get one now. Stay safe all of you and enjoy the day if you can.xx
