I’ve just had to switch on my lights as it was almost to dark to see anything, now I’ve drawn my curtains so no one walking past can stare in! It’s going to be a very long evening!

What’s it like near you, I’m in Bramhall, ( Cheshire/ Manchester area)

ExDancer Fri 07-Jan-22 14:27:41

I'm in Cumbria and the sun's shining (though for how long - who knows?)
The forecast says snow!

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 07-Jan-22 14:29:21

Brightening up quite a bit in N Norfolk, in fact other than on really dull wet days I’ve started to notice the evenings drawing out a tiny bit.

M0nica Fri 07-Jan-22 14:31:46

Gloomy in Oxfordshire, but it was even gloomier yesterday at this time of day.

MayBee70 Fri 07-Jan-22 14:33:25

Ok today but I was surprised at how early it got dark yesterday. Maybe that’s why I’m in hibernation mode.

Grandmabatty Fri 07-Jan-22 14:33:55

Bright blue skies in central Scotland at the moment. It is unusual as I'm used to gloom.

Esspee Fri 07-Jan-22 14:34:57

In Glasgow we have the blinds down because of the blazing sunshine.

EllanVannin Fri 07-Jan-22 14:36:25

It was here on the Wirral before but it's brightened up now showing some blue sky.

BBbevan Fri 07-Jan-22 14:36:30

S W Wales and it’s dark here too. Can’t see the clock on the opposite wall. Still we are past longest night. Roll on spring

grandtanteJE65 Fri 07-Jan-22 14:36:47

It is dull and overcast here in south Denmark and will be getting dark in about forty minutes here, as we are on continental time: GMT+1,

Dogsmakemesmile Fri 07-Jan-22 14:40:44

Bright blue sky here in Scottish Borders. Maybe the snow makes everything look lighter...

Riverwalk Fri 07-Jan-22 14:47:01

Dull & gloomy in London @ 14.45.

Teacheranne can you not put on some small lamps to give light - don't be drawing your curtains so early in the day! shock

NannyJan53 Fri 07-Jan-22 14:49:04

Quite bright here in West Midlands at the moment.

BigBertha1 Fri 07-Jan-22 14:49:40

Dark here with snow clouds looming. I hate winter. I usually eat and drink my way through it but not this year Dry January and Slimming World for me I'm going to have to tough this one out.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 07-Jan-22 14:54:23

Here in West Oxfordshire it’s very gloomy and grey at 3 pm.

Zoejory Fri 07-Jan-22 14:55:31

Maybe you're in for some snow, Teacheranne!

emmasnan Fri 07-Jan-22 14:59:32

Need lights on here in Dorset. Gloomy and wet.

MiniMoon Fri 07-Jan-22 15:05:36

It's been a fairly bright day in south west Northumberland. Cloudy with sunny intervals. It is cold though, the temperature outside hasn't risen above 1°c.

ExDancer Fri 07-Jan-22 15:12:29

Thanks Teacheranne your darkness has just reached here. All of a sudden we've plunged into semi darkness and the sky had changed to a kind of iron-greyness which is quite eerie.

merlotgran Fri 07-Jan-22 15:20:42

Grey, grey, grey and cold on the south coast. We did get a burst of sunshine at midday which I only noticed because I was doing my bit for recycling at the bottle bank while smugly congratulating myself that three months worth of empties only filled two carrier bags! grin

It's just started chucking it down.

Sago Fri 07-Jan-22 15:40:13

Blue sky still in E. Yorkshire.

Jaxjacky Fri 07-Jan-22 15:42:41

Same as merlotgran in S. Hampshire, raining, side lamp was on at 3, it’s cold too as I just had to go out.

M0nica Fri 07-Jan-22 15:43:15

I withdraw my earlier comment, well it was true at the time, but by 3.00, it was even gloomier than yesterday.

Lincslass Fri 07-Jan-22 15:44:34

Gloomy but daylight still in Lincs.

Birdie1 Fri 07-Jan-22 16:01:33

Dark and raining cats & dogs down in Worthing, West Sussex☔️??
