Good Morning Friday 14th January 2022
(74 Posts)Good morning from a black dark Durham. Had a really rough night looking after DD2’s dogs. The old one had ‘tummy troubles’ and the young one snores like a train!
I’m taking them home this afternoon, then a nail appointment and picking DGS1 up from Pre-school.
Looking forward to reading later posts.
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark, not sure of the temperature as I haven’t been out to the piggies yet.
Off to work soon, then this afternoon I will be marking out where all the shrubs will go tomorrow when I do our tree planting on the green on our estate. We have 50 shrubs to plant so hope the ground isn’t too hard. I do hope people turn up to help!! I may put a shout out on the community FB page.
My leg is improving every day so I am pleased about that.
Yesterday as DGS was asleep in the car I bypassed gymnastics and took him straight home, much to his dismay when he woke up as we pulled into his driveway, oh dear Nanna, I wasn’t popular. I will wake him in future ?
Take care everyone and stay safe and warm today ❤️
Good morning from south Cornwall where it's mild and still with a big bright moon that woke me through a crack in my curtains at 4am. Unexpected lunch with my youngest son yesterday, sitting outside a bar in the sun, chatting about everything and nothing. Have been invited to go to Plymouth with him and my grandson tomorrow for a shopping expedition. More canvas wrangling for me today. I can only work on two at a time - roll on Sunday when the shops beneath me will be closed and I can spread out in the hallway for the day. Have the best day you can.
Good morning, I'm very pleased its Friday. A gruelling day yesterday for my DD in many ways, it was made more challenging as you are currently not permitted in to support your loved ones when they're having treatment or even when receiving results from scans etc. Covid has made a terrible situation even more dreadful.
The sun will rise shortly and a new day will begin, we will aim to find good and positive things to be thankful for I'm sure. Kind thoughts and thanks to you all for your support.
Good morning from a dark, clear E Kent. We are promised a second day of ☀️ sunshine. It does lift the spirits to have some.
Another quiet day. I’m visiting my old friend in the care home. Poor old stick, all her mates in the home have dies and she only had the depressing or demented to talk to. I’m her only visitor. She’s a childless widow; her stepfamily don’t give a monkey’s, her blood family live in Halifax and think they’re God’s gift when they do visit about once a year…. Some people do have sad lives, don’t they?
Probably a Greek salad and cold lamb for dinner.
I trust that today will be a good one for everyone, with relief for the sad, bereaved, in pain and anxious. Carpe diem. ??????
Good morning, all, from a calm, dry Torbay. I noticed the brightness of the moon last night at bedtime, Alizarin!
Yesterday was beautiful with sunshine for most of the day so I enjoyed my favourite walk over the Downs, where I never tire of this view.
DD1 in Australia has just texted to say she has been diagnosed with pericarditis, following her booster vaccination yesterday. Poor girl is running a temperature which isn’t helped by the current outside temperature there of 32degrees! I feel helpless being so far away.
DD2 is 43 today; she bounced into the world in the awful Winter of 1979, weighing 10lbs 1oz! A vivid memory!
Have a good weekend, if possible, everyone. Special thoughts to Chrissielou and her DD. ?????
Good Morning everyone from a very frosty Severnside. Even the dark cars are white… brrr.
As it is so frosty and I didn’t put the windscreen thingy on the car I’ll leave it until later to shop, if I go at all. I’m not desperate for anything. I’ve a few things to iron, enough to make it worthy of putting the ironing board up. I must check on a colour thread for when I start to sew up my dress. It’s frustrating to find you haven’t another reel of the same colour. One day years ago that happened so I popped into town in the car and it didn’t end up as the quick pop I thought it would be. An elderly lady put her foot on the accelerator instead of the brake and shot across the road into my car. Apparently a few weeks later she had another accident so decided to give up driving.
Have a good day all and stay warm ❄️??
Good morning from Shropshire where there is a thick frost.
Up early and over the border into North Wales today to look after H and take M to and from school.Apparently there is another envelope full of badges for me to sew on her Rainbows uniform.
Ash, my daughter has had the same since her booster a couple of months ago.
Thinking of all our goodmorningers with worries, sadness and illness?
Take care everyone and stay safe??
Good morning from S Hampshire at -2, MrJ will be scraping ice again.
Pleased your leg’s improving Scentia, go easy with the planting.
A harsh day Chrissielou ?
Good luck with your canvas, canvases, canvi? who knows, too early Alizarin
Friday is Tesco delivery day and a kitchen clean down.
Enjoy your day all, many kind thoughts with those struggling. Look out for a ?on your way Morningstars ?.
PS pleased Djokovic is, at last, our.
Out.
Good morning all from Essex.
I have a dental appointment at 8.30 and I will have to walk up to town as our car is going in to the garage. The blowers are only working intermittently, so they need to be sorted.
Thankyou for all your kind messages regarding DD . It’s great to have your support and to know people are thinking of you.
Chrissielou - it’s an awful position to be in when you can’t be with your DD at times like this. Stay strong! ?
Scentia. - I do hope you have lots of help with your tree planting. ?.I’m sure you will.
Off to have my gnashers looked at !
Have a good day ! ??
Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s dark, dry with a pail pink line appearing across the skyline.
I met up with DIL yesterday for coffee. We chatted so much both of us pouring out troubles, concerns etc that we ended up having lunch then more drinks. It was good for us to unload.
Today I need to do a food shop but I am thinking of a quick trip to Beverley first.
Chrissielou my heart goes out to you and your daughter. ?
Happy Birthday to you daughter Ash a big baby! Was she your last? !!
Love and thoughts to all others going through tough times.
Ash, Susan, I’m so sorry about your DDs. Hope it resolves itself. Difficult when you’re trying to protect yourself and everyone else, to be afflicted by the supposed protector. ?❤️
Jaxjacky I was glad to hear the news too from Australia.
Good morning from the north of Scotland where it is 7 degrees. Almost t-shirt weather after the cold spell.
I did some shopping yesterday but was in and out very quickly as so few people were wearing masks and the poor assistant at the store entrance was being treated very rudely. “I’m exempt” said some. I felt for her.
On a positive note, the sun shone which lifted my spirits and I did some tidying in the garden, so slept better for having been outside.
Sending my best wishes to you all who have such trying health issues either yourselves or those you care about.
Going to sit outside with a cup of coffee now and watch the sun come up. Have the best day you can.
Goodness Ashcombe 10lb 1oz - ouch.
Goood morning from Yorkshire bed, we are apparently having another blue sky all day, at this present time its about as blue as the moon made of cheese.
Today! Well i have a friend coming up for coffee, natter and a laugh, i bought some mini cupcakes from Aldi yesterday for us to drool over, she has made flapjack so i am going to display them on a 3-tier cake stand, anyone would think it was a party haaaa but so what ! It makes the ambiance far more enjoyable.
When my friend has gone i intend to pop round to see my neighbour who had a fall in her house yesterday, she us 87. I look on her like a mum, she is so lovely. Then at SOME point i am making a beef stew for tea AND trying to figure out why ohhhhhh why my flippin sewing machine is going cock-a-hoop, grrrrrrrr. I am NOW a sewing machine expert, yesterday i practically ( ) painstakingly) took the flippin thing to BITS to fathom out the problem
Enjoy your day everyone.
Good morning all from another frosty morning in North Leicestershire. We had a glorious sunset last night.
Carpet fitters coming this morning then tomorrow DSiL3 is coming to help put the furniture back into the bedroom and we can move back into our room on Saturday.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and the weather app says 9 degrees so quite mild.
Chrissielou it must have been such a tough day yesterday, thinking of you and your DD
So good that you visit your friend GM , a sad time for the lady
Sorry to hear about the reactions after the boosters Ash and Susan hope both DDs are better soon
Today we’re off for a few days away in south Devon, hopefully get in a bit of walking along the coast path if the weather is ok. We’re getting the Inverness to Bristol flight and then onward travel on the train from there. I’m looking forward to a change of scenery and something different to do
Hope you get lots of help with the planting Scentia and enjoy!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.
Yesterday’s walk along the seafront after the little one’s gymnastics class was so pleasant. It was a still day, not too cold, with such a beautiful pinkish light in the sky by the time we were leaving. Good for the soul.
I must try to fix my mop of hair for work today. I’ve noticed I’m shedding much more than usual which apparently is one of the side effects of Omicron. Bizarre.
I hope your daughter has a better day Chrissie.
Happy planting Scentia, mind that leg though.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day as always. ??
Thank you, for kind words for DD1 and reactions to the birth weight of DD2! Following unsuccessful fertility treatment, my first husband and I had been advised to adopt before we were too old! So we adopted DD1 who was aged two and I had to give up teaching. (Adoption leave was unheard of!) Within six months I became pregnant and so we were blessed with a second daughter, to be followed two years later by a son!
Here’s Matt.
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s breezy out. I’ve just peeped out of the front door and there are black clouds over the mountains at the back of us and looking out from the balcony the Mediterranean is slate grey with whitecaps. Oo-er!
Not a clue what we might do today which is nice. Lots of choices anyway. Enjoy Friday all who can. x
Good morning from misty Leicestershire, hope I can see where I am going on my Nordic Walk!
DD finds out today if their bid on a house they like is successful.
So sorry your DD has to face her treatment alone Chrissielou. I hope it gets easier for her.
Sorry to hear about your DDs Ash and Susan hope they recover soon.
