Give me back my bodyguards: Prince Harry threatens legal action against the government and demands return of police protection because 'it is not safe for the Sussexes to return to UK for visits'

NotTooOld Sun 16-Jan-22 22:28:36

Lucca - I believe the inference is that Harry is (possibly) not Charles' son.

Wow some of the old bile being flung around again.

No win situation .

Indeed.

I repeat that H&M's behaviour has nothing to do with keeping them safe during a few days visit for the sake of the Queen. We know all the dreadful things they've done, there's no need to keep repeating them. I'd still rather they returned home safely.

If you think M&H should not have Police protection then you should read this. It's a quote from one of the links above:
In some areas officers are being offered for hire despite the fact that crime rates are rocketing. The force earning the most from hiring out its officers is the Met in London which earned £1.5million in the past year by providing 45 PCSOs to private organisations.

PCSOs aren't what Harry wants to hire. He wants armed protection officers. PCSOs while a valuable resource to the Met aren't in any way equivalent to Royal Protection. www.met.police.uk/car/careers/met/pcso/pcso-overview/

On the subject of Harry's protection I'm torn. Either it should be provided free or he shouldn't get it. I can see the argument for providing protection but he does annoy me with his entitled attitude. On balance I suppose we should provide it, while smiling through gritted teeth grin but I still think it's 'off' he seems to think anytime he decides to visit the UK the Met should jump to it to provide protection. His willingness to pay is a smokescreen, he's not so daft as to think that would ever be allowed.

Calendargirl & Baggs,

It could be done quietly, & yet poor deprived megs wouldn't like that. She has to be seen!
PR stunt, VERY LIKELY!!
I'm sure he has ex-army pals who have taken to security, surely he could hire them. Or security suggested by the 'family', yet not our much needed police who are already quite busy without babysitting them!!

Oh for goodness sake. Ridiculous. Silly gossip.

Anniebach Mon 17-Jan-22 08:18:27

They have forgiven the family for so much, being refused help
when Megan was suicidal, not even asking if she was ok, being
racist, taking her passport off her, Harry was neglect by his father, bring him up the same way his grandparents had brought his father up.

Coincidence it’s the Queens jubilee year and the balcony awaits.

Is it? Are you certain about that. Did she really have two children by him? Some of you need to read more widely outside of Gransnet. Gain a broader perspective to see what is possibly going on here. Look at Angela Levins twitter account. Scroll down and look at two photos of Meghan supposedly pregnant. Angela Levin is a respected journalist who shadowed Harry for a year. Then come back and tell us it’s all ridiculous and silly gossip.

I don’t do Twitter and don’t understand your reference to photos of Meghan. Harry was born early in the marriage before the cracks began to show and Diana started to see other men, as I recall.

Anniebach Mon 17-Jan-22 08:57:15

I googled Angela Levin, she wrote on Twitter that H and M were at times victims then strong enough to tell the world how to behave. Seems H and M wanted it removed.

Sarnia Mon 17-Jan-22 08:58:12

Back to the OP's thread; him and his wife are only happy taking someone to court, it seems. Puts them back in the limelight. Maybe it's their only form of income these days, who knows or cares? I will lose not one wink of sleep if Harry & Co never return to the UK. The Queen needs to cut them off totally, financially, titles, right of accession, the lot. She doesn't need all the aggro at her age, she has enough on her plate as it is.

Anniebach Mon 17-Jan-22 09:05:11

Harry was born in 1984 and Diana was in love with Someone 1984 to 1886, she said this, Barry Manakee was removed in 1986
So it certainly was Hewitt.

Really?

Nothing much of importance happening to the Sussexes back in California, a great PR opportunity to muscle in on the Jubilee celebrations.

Oh, of course, I forgot. This is the toxic family they needed to get away from, to live a quiet life away from photographers and media intrusion.

confused

That's a very American trait isn't it Sarnia, so I guess we all know how that works out. Their team must be constantly looking for battles which isn't a healthy attitude.

How very rude. Do you seriously think I (or anyone else on GN) only read what is on here ?!

So I should broaden my reading by delving into Twitter ? I see.

Anyway you only have to look at photographs of Charles and harry, look at the configuration of the eyes/nose. The red hair thing is just a distraction.

Anniebach Mon 17-Jan-22 09:11:14

Of course they do you and others on here clearly are privy to their thoughts, amazing.
