Camilla-Queen Consort?

I agree Riverwalk the timing of Palace announcements is impeccable.
I think it is good.

That's as it should be as Peartree said Camilla has been a good support for Charles . I wish them well and the Queen too.

I really don't like the woman, who of course I have never met but she seems to have no shame. However with all that is going on in the world it is of very small consequence to me personally. I hope that William and Kate soon become King and Queen. I realise the implications of that statement but I feel there will be even more damage to British Royalty when Camilla becomes Queen Consort as a number of people are very much against her and will probably make their disapproval known. As I say my feelings are not that strong that I would join them.

I’m pleased that after years of being portrayed as the Scarlet Woman/Wicked Witch, Camilla is now rightly seen as the valued and loving support to prince Charles that she is. As for the title, the timing had to be right.

Absolutely, I think HM is quietly sorting out a lot of things now so there is no question later on.

I hope they’ll work side by side and do the best for the country. I do agree I wish they’d been given the chance from young as we wouldn’t have a say in who our sins married would we? Good luck to them.

Same here. I like Camilla immensely and think she will be a good Queen consort, right by Charles' side like she should be.
I am so glad the Queen did this.

I'm not keen on this however, if it's the Queen's wish then so be it. I won't ever feel the same way about Camilla and Charles as I do about the Queen. I hope William and Katherine have time with their children before they have to step up.

Why was Prince Albert only the 'Prince Consort' and Prince Philip not even that? Is calling Camilla Queen consort some sort of reverse sexism?!

If it was something newly set up now, yes. In the past it was tradition or just the way things were set out. (Yes it was probably set out that way by men, but it’s history)

Oh dear. The royal correspondent on the Channel 4 news just said "3 in the bed" instead of "3 in the marriage" meaning Charles, Diana and Camilla!!
