Good morning from a still very dark Oxfordshire. A new working week begins, must admit, I don't feel very enthused. I daydream about retirement, all that time for walking, baking, gardening, reading to my heart's content, but it is another few years away and it's not good to wish your life away. Meanwhile, back in the real world the laptop beckons
. Have an enjoyable Monday everyone.

Good Morning Monday 24th January 2022
(63 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and dry at the moment here in brackley this morning .
Today a quiet day planned apart from general housework .
My week ahead very much as usual apart from getting stitches removed mid week.
Take Care,
Mick
Happy birthday Lamas99
Good morning from bloomin cold Yorkshire... brrrrr.
Today ! Well, its Monday so i am going to visit the lady who lives at the farm, we sit and chat over coffee. She had a fall last year and broke her leg ( at 88) but she is doing amazing.
Yesterday i spent the afternoon with my neighbour, she is just brilliant, just had water infection, the antibiotics have done their magic.
Tonight i have booked a Chinese restaurant for my daughters birthday, it will be the last of her 30's.
At some point today i am going to do more work on my bags ( drawstring). My sewing machine is playing up, i think its all to do with the tension, driving me crackers having to re-thread umpteen times. I have found a local sewing machine repair place so if i have a day like previous then its going there grrrrrr.
Enjoy your day everyone
( if you hear a loud smash, its my sewing machine being thrown through my window haaaaaaa )
Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. A milder dry day forecast.
I slept well after a full on family day yesterday.
Mundane stuff today like housework and admin.
Love to all ? x
Good morning from East Yorkshire. It is a grey sky greeting me as I look outside.
Not a lot going on for me at the moment just the usual boring mundane stuff. So a bit of housework, making soup, phone calls today.
Happy Birthday Llama have a lovely day
Take care everyone.
Happy birthday Llamas
Thinking of your DD Gingster and hope minimal treatment needed.
Lazy day yesterday so took myself off for a brisk walk round the village in the evening. It was very chilly.
Have as good a day as possible everyone ☺️
Good morning all from Polmont where it's 8° again. A heady mix of clouds and blue skies above. Happy birthday to Llamas99. Yesterday I made banana bread, mainly for my sil and dgs as they both like it, and a lasagne for my dinner. I pottered about and didn't really do much clearing out as I had developed a sore throat over the last few days and couldn't be bothered. I'm feeling a bit better today. This virus which I've had for two weeks has been a corker. Today I have no plans. I'll see what the day brings. Have a good day all.
Good morning from Staffordshire.
I had a disturbed nights sleep and was still wide awake when the alarm went off at 4.30?I’m sure I will sleep on the journey home later.
A quiet day planned as DGS is tired after two birthday parties at the weekend and his usual activities.I have a feeling we will all be having a nap later.
Hope your daughters consultation goes well Gingster???
Take care everyone and stay safe???
Good Morning All x.
I don't know what it's doing out but I know it isn't wet as the cats have trooped in and are dry. They're now fed and settled.
I don't know what I'll be up to today, though cupboards need sorting and I'd love to make a start on them at some point as I'm sure there'll be enough rubbish to fill the bin for the next few weeks. Depends how much energy I can muster.
I was speaking to a " garden " neighbour yesterday and felt quite excited that it won't be too long until we'll be having our coffee gatherings. Last summer went so quickly as we all spent most of our time outdoors and it was lovely. I think the sea air kept us going through the winter as we were outside more than in. Who needs holidays ?
All eyes will be on the river here next month as Russian naval vessels will be sailing to Ireland on exercises off the South coast. A bit too close for comfort
We'll see.
Hope everyone's okay and waiting for the lighter nights/ mornings which make a difference, healthwise.
Loved the shoes Urms, little girls love their dollies, I know I did. Enjoy the next couple of days.
A Happy Birthday Llamas99
Many of 'em.
Bathroom will be warm enough to shower now so I'll skoot off and perform my ablutions then have the crumpets.
Stay safe, well and warm. xx
Good morning Mick and all from our corner of the S Welsh coast, a grey morning here but dry.
DD walked up Pen Y Fan yesterday and took the little dog for some much needed exercise. She has done the walk before as part of the Three Peaks Challenge. We
Happy birthday Llamas99, my friend's dgs is currently in university in Tennesse on a golfing scholarship. I phoned her yesterday and she said how cold it was there, no golf or any outdoor sports going on, what a coincidence.
DD is going on holiday to the USA in a few weeks, it has been rearranged a few times because of the virus.
No plans for today and that suits me fine. Thinking of all who are experiencing troubles of any sort, a cwtch from me.
Good luck to your dd Gingster I will be thinking of her.
You too Boat and all with medical appointments today.
Good morning all from a grey S Hants, 4deg.
Happy Birthday Llamas ?
Tidying house and making soup today, scotch broth for Burns night tomorrow.
Best Wishes for those with medical appointments, may your news be positive.
Have the best day all ??
Morning everyone from a dreary and grey north Kent coast, but it’s going to be dry apparently.
Art group this morning where we are continuing to use acrylic paints. Enjoying it very much; painted a seascape yesterday which I am pleased with; discovered that it is easy to cover hands and sleeves with paint as well as the paper. Used to be the same when I decorated; always more paint on me than the walls.
DS just texted to say GD3 (6) has tested +itive. She’s feeling ok, looking a bit pasty but furious she can’t go to school. We were supposed to be seeing them on Wednesday for GD2’s birthday (11) so will have to be content with seeing them from the drive. Another week of worrying that they’ll all be ok; DD and family back in the world last week after their covid bouts.
Hope you all have a good day
Good Morning from a grey and misty morning in North Wales.
Happy 76th Birthday Llamas ?
I had a very lazy day yesterday must get on with my housework and walk soon.
GS seems to be a bit better now at university. He had been quite low and I do worry about him.
Hope everyone has a pleasant day and wishing some ☀️ to all who need a bit of brightness.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Oops forgot to wish Llama99 a happy birthday; have a good day
Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another grey day but I will go for a walk shortly. I have letters to post and a book to pass to a friend.
Hairdressers later.
Happy birthday llamas
It took me 5 attempts to get the wordl word today.
Have a good day everyone.
Morning Mick and all
It is very grey here in S E Essex. I am going to go to the gym this morning, not sure what my back will allow me to do though.
I also have to pop along to a local(ish) retail park (Mayflower) to pick up an order from Boots, I might be tempted to have a mooch round Next.
Thinking of your DD Gingster a child with health issues no matter what their age is always a worry.
Happy Birthday Llamas79 ??
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning from Durham. An icy blue sky with the half moon still visible and not a breath of wind. Had a full on weekend with DGS1 here and now DD2 has asked me to babysit DGS2 for a few hours this afternoon. I could nip into MetroCentre on the way home I suppose for some M&S edible delicacies?
Paver text last night to change his start day from today to tomorrow - mmm - we shall see! He’s good when he starts, but therein lies the problem!
Have a good day, if you’re celebrating and commiserations to those feeling poorly or under the weather.
Aly, I'm on attempt four and only have two letters. I'm stumped!
Good morning all from the Black country.
Got woken very early by one spam phone call managed to get back to sleep so now I'm up late. Haven't read through so will catch up later, DH as usual slept through.
Have just seen a fox on next doors garage roof usually only see them late evening.
Best wishes anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed take care all and may you all find some ?
,
Good morning from a grey and cold Essex by the sea.
I'm meeting up with a new group of ladies for a walk at 10.
Gingster my very best wishes to your daughter, I hope her appointment goes ok.
Have the best Monday you can everyone xx
Good morning all from grey and chilly South Hants. monk, I lived in East Anglian countryside for nearly fifty years and only saw about half a dozen foxes in all that time. Now I’ve moved to an urban environment I can only say I’ve never seen so many!
This handsome fella watches me put the washing on the line from the neighbour’s shed roof. He’s not in the least bit camera shy!
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Thankyou for all good wishes regarding DD’s consultation. So lovely ! ?
Couldn’t get Wordle today. ?
Good morning from a dry and sunny NE.
Quiet day yesterday, caught up with some TV and did a couple of crosswords.
Message from DD to say she was still unwell but had not had the results of the scan from the hospital, may need to contact the GP again to get some help. It is her DH who helps me and takes me shopping so I am wary of giving him any more stress.
I have stubbed my toe as I was leaving the bathroom and the blood went everywhere, managed to staunch it a bit and get a plaster on and sitting with a pad of tissues underneath now. Hope I don't need to put shoes on today.
Happy Birthday Llamas79.
Good morning Mick and everybody. Grey skies in my corner of Lancashire this morning though forecast to clear later, currently 3°C. Laundry to be done and a walk later.
I thought you’d got some new pink trainers ready for a new fitness regime Urms then I read on
Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?
