Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry here in brackley at present .
My weekend break in York , the hotel was by the river ,and I had ground floor room ,and looked out onto the river, and watched the swell recede over 2 days to normal level .
I have put on weight as per the meals etc, but it was also cold s well , finding the chill effected my own heart condition.
I went to Harrogate on the coach on Saturday , with 4 hours there , the plan was to meet Gwen but that did not happen as I felt more time would be better ,anyway I have a holiday booked in August nearer to Harrogate.
To be honest I wish this trip had been later towards Easter with milder weather .
Take Care,
Mick

Had a surprisingly good birthday yesterday. I decided that I would be miserable on my own so invited some local friends in for tea and cake and a very lively tea party ensued. Today is DS’s birthday so I hope he does as well even without a geriatric party.

Supermarket and later pancakes with a friend - not possible to make the mixture for one so we will combine forces and enjoy the treat together. Lemon juice and sugar for me, DH preferred orange juice.

Sounds like you need to be grounded till Friday, Marydoll. We await the wedding report impatiently so we need you there in best observer form.

Hello everyone from Wells next the sea, where I’m the only one who is awake so far!

Mick, I’m sorry that you break was a bit of a disappointment. Glad you’re home and in the warm now.

We spent the afternoon in Wells yesterday, eating lunch at the lovely deli there. The gulls were in abundance, sitting on car rooftops. As usual the Ddog enjoyed adoration as we ate. She is an elderly border terrier and enjoys the attention. (She’s snoring now!)

Happy Tuesday, all.

Good morning from a calm North Leicestershire.

A new choir, run by my singing teacher, is starting in the village today so my neighbour and I are being brave and hoping we won't be the only ones there.

It is the 82nd birthday of DH's brother today. He and his wife are getting quite frail and their children are very hands off - it's a worry!

I miss PRINTMISS every time a new month dawns.

Happy anniversary corner - do you think it will last? thanks

Sar53 Tue 01-Mar-22 08:05:27

Good morning from a wet Essex by the sea, very miserable looking outside.
A lovely lunch yesterday with Gingster and GG13, it was good to catch up.
Not much going on here today, pottering I think.
Have a pleasant Tuesday everyone xx

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire. Happy St. David’s day. What a delightful photo * Susan* .

Also it’s pancake day and am fancying some for breakfast. Then I am of to my coffee morning.
Can’t drag myself away from the news. Praying it will come to a swift end and that that horrible man will be no more.

On a lighter note happy birthday to Mr Shazza Hope he enjoys his day. I know that restaurant. We went there on my last birthday!

Take care everyone.

Gingster Tue 01-Mar-22 08:10:55

Good morning and it’s raining and dreary!

Off to do the school run so we’ll get a bit damp. Never mind . It’s not worth taking the car as the parking is dreadful.

Lovely catchup with Sar and GG yesterday. We’ll do it again soon. ?.

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day, whatever it brings. ???

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s a beautiful, bright, cold and frosty start to the day.

Happy St David’s Day to all our Welsh posters. ???????

I slept like a log after my busy weekend followed by a working day, they say older people need less sleep but I’m afraid that certainly doesn’t apply to me.

Another lovely bag Mattie, I hope
Iris’ pain has lessened today.

Marydoll, take it easy wumman!

That sounds like a smashing birthday GrannySomerset - belated happy birthday wishes to you.

I’m meeting up with a gransnetter who I haven’t met before, looking forward to it.

Have the best day possible everyone. ?

Good morning all from sunny South Yorkshire. I am still on grandma duties as DGD1 decided to start with chicken pox but improving now. Hopefully back at school tomorrow. She is however very tired and actually fell asleep on my knee yesterday.... unheard of for years bless her. I have an opticians appointment later this morning so himself will be chief babysitter.
Sorry your trip to York was not quite as you'd hoped Mick
Hope your husband picks up soon Scentia
Love to all x

Good morning and happy White Rabbits day to all!

Out for coffee to a neighbour's this morning, along with other neighbours past and present. Have just done a LF test to make sure I am not spreading the virus! Negative thank goodness.

Then if it's dry, joining my usual Tuesday afternoon health walk - the walks have now been rebranded as Ramblers Well-being Walks. It's so good to walk in company, and to socialise over a drink afterwards. Must ring up with a query over my travel insurance at some time today.

Had a good yoga session yesterday morning, then coffee with a friend at the little cafe afterwards. Spent the afternoon upgrading the security on my laptop; think I've successfully downloaded the new system as recommended ordered by BT.

Hope you have a better experience next time you go to York, Mick. Take care.

May make pancakes later, but will have to pop into the shop after my walk for some milk.

A pleasant St David's Day to all.

BlueBalou Tue 01-Mar-22 08:42:28

Gosh grandMattie, I just love that bag ?
Good morning everyone, it’s a dull start here today, grey and drizzly.
I have a badly infected ankle wound from getting the long dog lead wrapped around it three weeks ago so GP and Practice Nurse have given me strict instructions to rest it elevated, strong antibiotics and painkillers, all very frustrating. DH will have to walk DDog now ?.
Hope everyone has a good day x

luluaugust Tue 01-Mar-22 08:43:45

Good morning all and a Happy St Davids Day to my welsh cousins from a wet and miserable W Kent.
Hoping friend will pop by today but wouldn't blame her if she wanted to stay in. Pancakes later. Best wishes to all

Kim19 Tue 01-Mar-22 08:53:49

Urms, you are one lovely lady. Thanks for the beautiful Welsh emblem and then Matt who, like yourself, never lets us down. Your day ahead sounds fun from start to finish. Enjoy. ?

Anniebach Tue 01-Mar-22 08:54:12

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Nannytopsy Tue 01-Mar-22 09:06:34

Good morning Mick and all his followers from a rather damp Suffolk, where the forecast is for more rain.
I shall start on the foothills of the ironing mountain this morning then it’s WI committee this afternoon.
We need to drop off DGD’s school bag as it got left in our car.
I wish I was in Spain Urms! We have promised ourselves a trip when DH’s leg ulcers have healed but that could be years. He has had these ones for about 5 years now. One leg is virtually better so perhaps we’ll have a trip to celebrate that one!
I hope the day is kind to everyone, a pinch and a punch and white rabbits!

EkwaNimitee Tue 01-Mar-22 09:31:32

Good morning and welcome back, Mick. Hello everyone from sunny frosty Carlisle. From your posts it sounds as though our horrible wet grey day yesterday has gone south.
I'll finish off the housework and admin today and look forward to some gardening this afternoon if it stays fine.
I've a train and a hotel to book, I'm now off to London at the end of the month for a family birthday bash. I refused to meet the wider family at Christmas but think I'll risk it now. None of us are getting any younger.

Happy St David's day to the Welsh contingent!

hollysteers Tue 01-Mar-22 10:03:17

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside, northwest coast.
Blue skies and sun??.
My dicky tummy is calming down and today I will plant that rose, the rain stopped me yesterday. Then to sing at music club so will have a little warm up this morning.
My friend recovering from detached retina op, banged his had badly last night and went to A&E, had stitches. He’s worried it might have affected the op. Poor man, he’s having quite a time of it.
I sorted out a pile of clothes in my bedroom yesterday, they had built up on a large wicker peacock style chair, I hardly knew what was at the bottom! Put a bit into the jumble bag, but need to be more ruthless.
Sorry you felt chilly on your trip Mick, however I hope the change has been good.
Thoughts to Iris and anyone with worries.

Good morning from a grey West Sussex where rain is expected later.

I have a (for me) ridiculously busy day. Helping with cafe at church for carers, people living with dementia and anyone else who needs company. Followed by pancake lunch at same location. Then another social ‘tea & chat’ on Zoom for those still cautious about mixing. DD1 has a work related visit to a dementia centre near us and is staying overnight with us to save an early start the following morning. I have a volunteering job to do which I hope will be quick. Then I must tidy up the tip that is our house before DD arrives and also for book group which I am hosting tomorrow (no of course I haven’t finished the book yet ?). I lead a quiet life normally!

Sorry the cold weather spoilt your trip Mick.

Marydoll do take care of yourself and well done MrMd.

Happy St David’s Day to all Welsh GMers ???????

Litterpicker Tue 01-Mar-22 10:21:55

Meant to say, hope your trip to Devon goes smoothly, Lins and that being together at the burial of your cousin’s ashes makes up in some way for not being able to attend the funeral. Glad to hear your GD is now ‘official’ ?

Scentia, sympathy for your DH - it must take a while to process such a shock. Hope he ‘behaves’ today!

Grandmattie I hope Iris is in less pain very soon - it seems so unfair when children have to suffer. I love the bag ?

gillgran Tue 01-Mar-22 10:53:35

Blossoming Tue 01-Mar-22 11:00:13

Good morning Mick and everybody. It’s a beautiful sunny day in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 5°C

No plans for today, I have had 2 sleepless nights thanks to my hiatal hernia misbehaving and I’m feeling thoroughly miserable. I’m hoping to get outside for a walk if my balance permits.

Mr. B has been to the pharmacy for something to help me.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

henetha Tue 01-Mar-22 11:20:07

Good morning from very damp south Devon.
I mentioned on here a little while ago that my brother in law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I had so many kind messages of support from lots of lovely people on here.
He died yesterday. It was what we call a 'happy release' for him as he was very far advanced. But it's devastating for my sister and their son.
Now the question is, whether I go to the funeral or not.
It's in Scotland. It's under debate. I want to go, of course, but it's a difficult journey, especially at my age.

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Mar-22 11:22:54

Sorry to hear that Blossoming I hope the pharmacy goods go some way to helping ?

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Mar-22 11:35:15

henetha for you thanks
