Any news yet on Baubles yet...? It's been on of those..things 3 and me 1 days... The printer decided to not speak to the computer...and the dishwasher felt the need to carry on pumping when all the water was out. The 3 'children' Cane Corso...Pointer cross and lab cross all went to the groomers this morning so the 2 hours that they were in there was spent persuading the printer to listen to the computer...in the end I did it...not actually sure how... uninstalled it and updated drivers or something. The dishwasher is another matter...I think thanks to Google I know what's wrong with it... But I've left it with DOH to deal with when he comes in!!!. Is it ok to have gin on a school night? If so I've popped s bottle of Raspberry and Clementine gin on the side with a few cheese straws. On the plus side... The children smell lovely. ?

Naughtyneine Wed 25-May-22 19:13:10

Update...my diagnosis a right and the soft hum of the dishwasher working is music to my ears. Yay

Latest news about baubles is that she's continuing to make good progress. She's very tired but is "on the right path". It's so good to be able to report that. Go well, baubles! ❤️

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 25-May-22 19:40:58

Beautiful bowl, Soop!

Galen Wed 25-May-22 19:41:43

I’ve had fun today. My stairlift stopped at the height of its run with me on it and lost all power!?
Fortunately I had my iPhone on me and was able to phone 999.
3 large firemen arrived within 15 mins and got me down.
Unfortunately when Kate arrived she let them out!!?

aggie Wed 25-May-22 19:47:18

Oh Galen how could she ! I’m sure they were enjoying the craic ???
Thanks Bags , I’m hoping for even more improvement ??

Jaxjacky Wed 25-May-22 19:57:13

Good evening kitchens, what a cold damp day we’ve had, washing drying indoors.
We visited our friends in Lyndhurst and enjoyed a good catch up, it’s the birthday today for the lady of the house, she was so happy with the card I’d found.
My first ever peony looks like it may fully open tomorrow, makes me happy.
More importantly, thank you baggs promising news, everything crossed for baubles.
Happy holiday brook family time.
Phew Galen you need a word with Kate I think!
Stunning bowls, food for thought.
Enjoy your evening all x

cornergran Wed 25-May-22 20:17:36

Thank you Baggs for the good news.

Urmstongran Wed 25-May-22 20:43:53

‘Evening All’.

Lovely to hear the encouraging news about baubles. Thank you Baggs for the update.

We went to the Trafford Centre today. I got my holiday needs on my list - all 3 of mine and 2 for Himself. Our little Peugeot 107 in the car park would fit into the boot these days of some of the seriously big beasts people drive about in. Huge SUVs with tinted windows and wheels that come half way up our doors! They must cost an absolute fortune to buy and fill with diesel or petrol. There seem so many of them about these days. We felt like the poor country cousins returning to our car ....

Good evening lovely kitcheners.

I'm feel quite buoyant tonight. MrM had a call this morning and has been booked in for his hernia operation - 6th June. He needs a PCR test on the 3rd and then has to isolate. My DD and DGD are due to be with us then but we've just had a long chat and they are coming down a day early but will leave earlier than planned, just before MrM's PCR test.

Also so pleased to read the positive news from Baggs. Thank you. I hope baubles continues on a speedy road to recovery.

Blossoming Wed 25-May-22 22:02:45

Thank you soop, I slept so well last night that I didn’t awaken until 9:30am! Mr. B had been to the supermarket and the bakery and had made me a mug of tea. The weather has been foul here today, I got on with some household chores as it was too wet and windy to go out. We had a lovely sweet and sour chicken with lots of peppers this evening, low calorie and low fat. I’m losing weight again and the healthy eating app is now telling me I’m not eating enough. I really don’t feel hungry and forcing myself to eat just makes me feel sick. I’m hoping it will settle down. I must ring the GP surgery tomorrow and see if my blood result is back.
I can’t catch up with everyone right now, but I’m so glad to hear from Baggs that Baubles is improving. I hope she continues to recover.

Blossoming Wed 25-May-22 22:04:45

Sending best wishes to MrMuse, hope the surgery goes well and he’s soon fighting fit,

brook2704 Wed 25-May-22 22:29:13

What really news about baubles thanks for the update baggs ?

mamaa Wed 25-May-22 22:54:36

Good news about Baubles, thankyou Baggs x

SueDonim Wed 25-May-22 23:41:05

That’s good news about Baubles! I hope she gets home soon.

Galen I was going to say what a shock, but it sounds like it was the opposite of a shock! I hope you’re over the trauma now. I didn’t know until recently that modern stair lifts have safety belts on them. My dd works as a junior doctor in A&E and she says they regularly see patients who come in, having fallen off their stair lift because they don’t have their belt on. shock People like to get on with things so they don’t fasten it and then at the top/bottom try to get out before the seat has come to a complete stop - the equivalent of jumping off a moving bus!

The removals men came today and have packed up probably 2/3rds of the house. It’s taking longer than usual because it’s going straight into containers rather than just onto a lorry, so they’ll be back tomorrow. By this time tomorrow we should have locked the front door for the final time and set off for pastures new.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 26-May-22 07:48:37

Good morning, I read but don’t often post, but had to say how much I like Ladyleftfieldlovers bowl, we are only 10 minutes away from the actual horse. Nicer to look at the bowl than venture up White Horse Hill and get blown over at the top!
But when MzOops comes to stay (next week) they always go wild camping up there, MrOops drives them up and leaves them and collects them the next morning, they love to watch the sunset and sunrise up there.
Love your bowl to Soop lovely colours.

Grandmabatty Thu 26-May-22 07:57:31

Two gorgeous bowls! There was a pottery local to me which sadly closed down before I had the opportunity to spend money. I would have loved a bowl like either of these Soop and Ladyleftfieldlover. Suedonim good luck with the house move. It's very exciting. Brook happy holidays to Switzerland and a happy catch up with your boy.

Jaxjacky Thu 26-May-22 08:02:16

Good luck today SueDonim

Blossoming Thu 26-May-22 11:15:23

Good morning dear Kitcheners, just popping in to catch up on the news. Hope all goes well today SueDonim. Have a lovely time in Switzerland Brook. I’m sure your baking could tempt my missing appetite BrandmaBatty, it all sounds delicious. Beautiful bowls from Ladyleftfieldlover and Soop. Hoping Baubles continues to improve.

I’ll be back later, TOYA

Grannmarie Thu 26-May-22 11:58:52

Good morning, Soop and lovely Kitchen people! ?
What a beautiful bowl Soop, I like your idea of displaying it on the wall.

Happy holidays, Brook, have a wonderful reunion with your DS.

Hello ? Galen, I'm glad you were rescued quickly, don't go making a habit of it!?

Hope the first stage of your house move goes smoothly SueD, you've certainly prepared well for it.

Baggs, thanks for the update, I'm so glad to hear that Baubles is on the road to recovery, even if it is a long one.??

We enjoyed our childcare day with GS2 yesterday, we managed a wee walk between showers to splash in puddles and inspect big diggers and cranes working on the next phase of the development. More playing indoors, involving Gran and Papa on our hands and knees to join the wee boy inside his pop up fire engine/ tent thingy...we had to take turns, great hilarity! Came home exhausted but very thankful for these times.
Catching up on house work and ironing today, haud me back!!

TOYA, have the best Thursday possible.

soop Thu 26-May-22 12:15:55

First thigs first. Thank you, Baggs for better news of Baubles. A good way to start the day. sunshine

Galen I'm well shocked. Bless you. Stranded mid-stair-way and (no thanks to Kate) deprived of enough time to take advantage of enjoy the company of three strapping firemen.

SueD us lot are sending you extra special good vibes on this special day.

Good to have your company, Oopsadaisy. I am a great lover of sunrises and sunsets. I can understand the thrill of "wild camping", especially when of an age minus the aches/pains and niggling old age related buggerations.

muse Your husband will feel so much better once his hernia has been repaired and his body has recovered from the surgery. Sending you both our best wishes. Mr S and I have had two hernia repairs each.

Blossoming I am concerned that you may need to review your diet. Please take extra special care of yourself. I trust that your blood test results are favourable.

Urms I have a fondness for small cars. My favourite being a Mini. So sensible. Easy to park, nippy enough, and less of a fuel guzzler than the bigger beasts.

Naughtyneine I love your sense of humour. grin

Jax How lovely that you have a peony about to flower. My Nana had a beautiful cottage garden. Her peonies were a joy to behold, and the perfume was heavenly. Another flower that she grew in profusion was the wallflower. I haven't seen them in gardens around here.
