Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and
Jolly good company.

Love to you ALL. Take care of yourselves and each other. I shall be with you again as soon as I'm able. smile

soop Tue 24-May-22 15:27:33

Urms You will be playing an important role when you take part in the breast cancer survey. Well done. smile

Jax I wouldn't want to live there!

Blossoming Take time to rest. A disturbed night's sleep is a buggeration.

Mr Soop has accepted the fact that he looks his age. grin GP could find nothing obviously amiss with the painful ear. He kept asking, "does this hurt?" as he pushed Mr S's head from side to side. In spite of Mr S yelling, "yes," he simply said to keep taking the pain killers, and report back if the pain persists. hmm

I shall return a little later.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 24-May-22 15:35:11

Well, here is the bowl!
I want to put apples in it but OH wants to look at the White Horse inside!

Urmstongran Tue 24-May-22 15:40:43

Beautiful piece LLFL. It does seem a shame to cover it up by putting anything in it! A dilemma. Compromise - a week with apples in it and a week without!

Such a shock to hear about baubles post-surgery. I posted just now on the sister GM thread.

Back later.

Urmstongran Tue 24-May-22 15:46:22

Holiday nails. ?

Wheniwasyourage Tue 24-May-22 16:13:59

Best wishes to baubles. Hope she recovers soon from what sounds like a horrendous experience. flowers

SueDonim, the second move should be a lot easier if you're doing all the hard work this time!

Jaxjacky Tue 24-May-22 16:14:44

I won’t recall all your events, but, best wished to baubles and family.
I too live with a hiatus hernia Naughtyneine the drugs do help a great deal.
So pleased MrS is reaping the results of his op soop.
The last bits approaching the line SueD hopefully it will all go like a well oiled machine ?.
It’s good to be home after an up and down few days, my choice of accommodation wasn’t the best, ‘idiosyncratic’ probably the most apt word. But, we explored Frome and Shepton Mallet, walked a lot, played Rummikub in the evenings and had time together with no diversions.
I hope you have time to enjoy your evening later x

TopsyIrene06 Tue 24-May-22 16:42:52

Just popping in (hope it's OK) to say how sorry and shocked I am that Baubles is unwell and having a horrid time. Vey best wishes to her for a speedy recovery.

mrshat Tue 24-May-22 16:46:09

Thank you Baggs in your role of messenger. Such sad and worrying news of baubles. All good wishes to her and her family. Such a difficult time for them all.

brook2704 Tue 24-May-22 16:48:09

Good to hear from you Jax and time spent with your other half wherever you are and whatever you do is precious indeed

Hi ? Topsy good to see you

I keep thinking about our poorly baubles I had the pleasure of meeting her at the last Glesca Grannies meet up and she really is such a beautiful kind lady, I remember her very well. I hope she continues to improve and gets better soon. If you’re reading baggs please send my very best wishes to her DD to pass on

They’re lovely nails urmston the colour is just perfect for sunny holidays!

Blossoming Tue 24-May-22 17:58:35

I saw the shocking news about Baubles on the Good Morning thread this morning. Thank you for letting people know Baggs and please let her daughter know we are all thinking of her and hoping she is improving now. It sounds horrendous.

Grannmarie Tue 24-May-22 20:32:49

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!
I saw the awful news about Baubles on GM earlier. Like Brook, I had the pleasure of meeting Baubles at the Glesca Grannies meet up in February, such a lovely lady. Sending love and prayers for her speedy recovery. ??

I'm so glad that MrSoop can see clearly now, I can feel a song by Johnny Nash coming on!?? Can you tell I've been spending time on the song lyrics thread??

My sisters are in Chicago so I had another wee park walk with my friend, also made cream of tomato soup to take through for DGS2's lunch tomorrow.

LLL, the bowl is beautiful, a piece of art! I'm sure you'll enjoy it no matter how you decide to use it.

I need to catch up with all your news, enjoy the rest of Tuesday evening.
TOYA.

Grannmarie Tue 24-May-22 20:40:06

Hello and welcome, WhenIwasyourage and Naughtyneine! You'll be glad you found this very special Kitchen.

Grandmabatty Tue 24-May-22 20:51:56

I'll drop off a pineapple upside down cake and some chocolate mousse, if I may. I saw the news about Baubles on the good morning thread. I hope she continues to improve. Another dgs1 sleepover last night has left me tired out. He's a joy and delight and very energetic. I hope everyone is well. I've been otherwise engaged for a few days. Have a good evening all.

cornergran Tue 24-May-22 20:59:18

Thank you for bringing the news baggs. My best wishes for a speedy recovery go to baubles. What a shock that must have been although traumatic it’s wonderful the surgery has been successful.

Good night everyone. A couple of weary souls here. TOYA.

brook2704 Tue 24-May-22 21:27:48

A pineapple upside down cake and chocolate mouse grandmabatty Well that’s a real treat thank you. I hope you get a wee rest, it’s always such a pleasure to have sleepovers but I know what you mean about them tiring you out!

Beautiful stylish bowl llfl looks lovely

DH found a wasps nest on a tree in the garden - never seen one there before but luckily he got rid of it ok without getting stung

Urmstongran Tue 24-May-22 21:40:16

‘Evening All’.

Just got in. Himself suggested (spontaneously ~ which was a nice surprise in itself) that we try the ‘newish’ curry place round the corner. One of our neighbours had recommended it. It was great! Busy too, with 24 diners by 7;30pm ... not too shabby for a Tuesday evening. We ate from the specials and then went for a stroll for half an hour to settle our tums. Urmston town centre is getting to be quite an eatery. The train station helps I think for easy access, people can leave their cars at home (or walk like us hehe!). Anyway, a lovely evening. I’ve my pj’s on now!

Grandmabatty I bet your little grandson loves staying over with you. He must just know how much granny loves him, plus he has his new bed with a dinosaur cover on his duvet.
?

Blossoming Tue 24-May-22 22:12:20

Well, I’m tucked up in my bed, having built myself a pillow nest ?. Hoping for a better night’s sleep.

Goodnight all, TOYA

Grannmarie Tue 24-May-22 22:28:41

Grandmabatty, you're spoiling us with your delicious baking, thank you! I hope all is well with you and yours. Your wee DGS will be looking forward to his next sleepover already.

That is some specimen, Brook, so good that your DH could deal with it safely. DS3 had one in his loft, had to pay a man to come and remove it.

Wishing everyone a peaceful night, NNGB.

Naughtyneine Tue 24-May-22 23:27:53

Help. TOYA???. Night night everyone. Wishing you all a peaceful and where needed a healing night.

brook2704 Tue 24-May-22 23:30:56

Thinking of you all Naughtyneine
Sleep well everyone

Grandmabatty Wed 25-May-22 07:13:28

Thank you ladies. The pineapple upside down cake and chocolate mousse were for dgs1 to try. The cake was summarily rejected with "I don't like that," but the chocolate mousse was devoured. Just as well I made them in individual ramekins.

soop Wed 25-May-22 12:40:47

LLFL Don't you dare cover that beautiful bowl with anything. It's totally gorgeous as it is. I shall add a photo of my bowl before the end of the day.

Baubles remains in my thoughts. I would love to hear that she has turned the corner and is on the road to recovery.
Please, Baggs, share any updates with us lot.

Blossoming I trust that you slept soundly. Just before settling down last night, I spied a spider crawling up the bedroom wall and it was too close to the ceiling to trap with the tumbler and card (to be released in the morning). I didn't fall asleep until 2am. When I did, I had a spider dream. Then had to get out of bed four times during the rest of the night for a wee. Spider remained in situ. Until I awoke and it had disappeared. This means, it is on the prowl. Oh dear!

A warm welcome, TopsyIrene08. Pull up a chair and enjoy the kitchen.

Grandmabatty Yes please, to a sample of all your home-baked goodies.

Urms I approve. Your manicure is classy.
Your evening treat sounds lovely.

Grannmarie Mr Soop is thrilled with his much improved vision. Apart from when he catches sight of himself in the mirror. wink

moomin Wed 25-May-22 14:27:24

I’ve not visited Gransnet or The Kitchen for ages, but hearing the shocking news of Baubles has made me put down my gardening gloves and join Kitcheners in sending every healing thought possible to Baubles and strength to her family.
Thanks to Baggs for the update

soop Wed 25-May-22 14:34:06

Ladyleftfieldlover Here is a pic of the bowl/dish that we treated ourselves to as a special anniversary gift. It hangs on the wall. It is a myriad of small mosaics. Depending on the light, the pattern of leaves and ferns changes. We love it. As I'm certain you will yours.

gillgran Wed 25-May-22 16:40:36

Lovely photos of very special bowls, Ladyleftfieldlover, soop is right, much too gorgeous to cover with putting anything in!

Safe journey Brook, have a good holiday & meet up with your DS.

Warm wishes for all on/or going on holidays.

Continued healing & recovery for baubles.

It's our DD's birthday today, she's treating herself to a yoga retreat in Harrogate.
