Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and
Jolly good company.

Love to you ALL. Take care of yourselves and each other. I shall be with you again as soon as I'm able. smile

Bellanonna Thu 02-Jun-22 13:22:00

Oh no, soop, poor you. I hope the meds do their work quickly.

soop Thu 02-Jun-22 14:19:53

Bella Me too. I've been getting up for a wee almost hourly for some time. Feeling "knackered" right now.

Grandmabatty Thu 02-Jun-22 14:22:23

That's rotten news Soop. Fingers crossed that the antibiotics do the trick.

gillgran Thu 02-Jun-22 14:38:39

I've just enjoyed Trooping of the Colour on TV, I'm feeling quite emotional, the Queen looked great on the balcony, with the working members of her family.

We're off to the NW.Nfk coast later for the rest of the weekend, meeting some of our family there.

soop, I love to see your photos of your sunsets, we are lucky that our little home-from-home is right next to the sea,(in the Wash), therefore facing west, so the sun sets over the sea.
I do hope those antibiotics work quickly, & you soon feel better.

Take care, good folk, I'll "see" you after the weekend.

soop Thu 02-Jun-22 15:18:37

kitty Re the fussy friend. Be yourself. You don't need to impress. You are plenty good enough. So there. wink

brook It's what daughters and sons are best at...making themselves "at home" when spending time with Mum. smile

Charleygirl Sweetie Pie calls, on average, twice weekly. Hence the banquet for in-between times.

Yia Splendid news. Those treats have obviously helped Damian to recover in extra fast time.

Maw If you still feel unsteady and uneasy after the weekend, please make an appointment with your GP. You may be suffering from anaemia. Just don't overdo things. smile

Jax A pity for Scotland but a super win for Ukraine.

Nannytopsy I swear that the church key is almost identical to the one that I have for speedy access to locked public conveniences. With a stoma, one needs to be reassured when out and about. wink

Septimia An event including family is, for me, the best ever treat.

Grandmabatty I'm still waiting for a sample of your extraordinary energy. Is it in the post? grin

soop Thu 02-Jun-22 15:30:21

gillgran Have a most enjoyable weekend.

There is a hair appointment to look forward to tomorrow. After which, a few treats in and around the village. Sunday will be a gathering of villagers in the marquee for a celebration Jubilee tea. It should be fun.

I have had two senior moments. One...I attempted to insert drops into Mr Soop's eyes without first unscrewing the top. And, I have only just realised that the pet portrait that I started yesterday, isn't my preferred choice. Hence, I have resketched and am about to begin afresh. No comment!

Sunny weather. The bees are loving the garden. The birds are competing for the nuts and seeds. A deer has wandered past the back fence. We spied an otter swimming off shore.

Enjoy your Thursday evening. I guess that, as it's a bank holiday, we may treat ourselves to a glass of wine (usually reserved for weekends). Why not? Quite!

Bye for now. smile moon

Leave you with a pic of my hydrangea it’s done very well this year.

Jaxjacky Thu 02-Jun-22 18:24:32

What glorious weather, shorts will be on tomorrow.
Hope you feel better and the anti ? s work soon soop
Family for bbq tomorrow, collected meat from the butcher earlier. I feel I may have bought to many strawberries for my puds, nothing as creative as you Yia, either Eton mess or individual meringues with whipped cream and berries.?
Very pretty hydrangea Yia my peonies are still going strong, the garden is very pleasing now the plants are a year old.
Have a lovely evening all x

Naughtyneine Thu 02-Jun-22 18:57:50

Good evening everyone... I've kept up with all the news but not had a chance to pop in the kitchen. I had my 6 week check up on Tuesday...I went up to London on the local coach which picked up from a mile away from the cottage...I was a bit worried about the 4 hour journey and how walking would be after sitting down for so long but it was fine. I haven't used this service before but definitely will again. The check up went fine... my new hip is behaving very well and I was reassured that any niggles would resolve themselves and to remember it's still very early days!!!! Back home to Somerset late last night and today we've been to Cheddar Gorge and Wells which has been lovely but I'm a bit achy now.
I am sorry Soop that you are feeling grotty...UTI's are horrible...is it cranberry that's supposed to help too.? I do hope you feel better soon.
It looks as if lots of us have busy weekends so I've popped a few jugs of Pimm's on the side ...with some real Cheddar cheese and biscuits.

brook2704 Thu 02-Jun-22 19:38:39

Another gorgeous sunny day here but I’ve not been in the garden, I’ve been with DD2 most of the day trying the help her finalise her new bathroom plans. We had the brochures all over the table, tape measure, pens and paper, various samples etc - you get the picture! Needless to say I needed a large wine when I got home but I think we’ve made progress and didn’t fall out ?
When do you start helping out with the P1s grandmabatty ? I bet you’ll love it and they’re lucky to have you
Hope you’re feeling better soon soop ?
Thank you for the strawberry tarts Yia and the hydrangea is stunning!

Grandmabatty Thu 02-Jun-22 20:00:25

It won't be til August Brook as the new session starts then. I still have the occasional role play too. I've one coming up in June.

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. We didn’t have any plans for today but it has turned into quite full on! Finished the last of the laundry this morning, hung everything out in the glorious sunshine. Late breakfast of cereal as it’s too hot for porridge. Watched the Trooping of the Colour live on YouTube. I’m not a monarchist but I’m a sucker for a parade with horses smile. Then a wander around the Marina, admiring the decorated boats.
We have just enjoyed homemade tortillas with garlic chicken, peppers, onions and a little chilli dressing. Ready for my bed now, I’ll sleep well tonight.

Have a peaceful evening folks, TOYA

Blossoming Thu 02-Jun-22 20:21:45

I hope you are feeling better today Maw, I always feel ‘off’ in heavy thundery weather so perhaps that was it.

brook2704 Thu 02-Jun-22 21:12:55

For anyone who’d like to come along and join us there’s a Jubilee party starting in The Argy - all very welcome ?

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 02-Jun-22 21:42:37

A quick hello from Cardigan Bay before the internet withers away again! Whenever I’ve had a UTI, I’ve drank loads of water. Pints of it. It seems to clear the infection.

Nannytopsy Thu 02-Jun-22 22:27:06

Evening all! We suddenly found the DGC were coming for the night. Some crossed wires there - we confirmed it was a pick up ^ tomorrow morning ^ !
No problem and they came with us to our village picnic. The beacon was a nail biter, as both fuses seemed to go out but suddenly there were flames!
Grandpa is upstairs now, doing a story. ?. I hope we get a lazy start tomorrow!

Dogsmakemesmile Fri 03-Jun-22 10:40:47

Found you! Apologies for absence. No laptop (and don't go on line on phone) , a touch of labyrynthitis (so I eschew all screens) , the dreaded projectile vomiting bug and now a back strain so full of pain relief. So glad to be back amongst friends. Please don't send best wishes! I just felt I owed you an explanation. Appreciate that many of us on here toiling. Have not read "backwards" so cannot add comments atm. Just wanted you to know I have missed your companionship. Apart from all the dull health stuff everything else is fine. One thing I have learnt from you is the importance of stoicism and looking forward. Will pop in tomorrow.x

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Jun-22 11:00:22

Dogsmakemesmile it's nice to hear from you again. Whilst it's fine to be stoic, a little virtual hug from me anyway. ☺️

Blossoming Fri 03-Jun-22 13:23:21

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners, hope everyone is well and enjoying the long weekend. I’m not good company today so will take myself off somewhere.

soop Fri 03-Jun-22 16:40:59

Blossoming What's up? As my Nana used to say. You can share with us lot if it helps. flowers

Dogsmakemesmile You are a poorly person. We care. A group (hug) is coming your way. sunshine

Nannytopsy shock Not quite what was anticipated.

Jax Eton Mess will do nicely. Thank you.

Naughtyneine Pleasing news from you. The Pimms and nibbles will be appreciated by all. smile

brook Behave! That lot in the Argy are tykes. hmm

Yia That is a beautiful hydrangea. Make a few extra strawberry tarts for us lot please.

Been to the hairdresser. Cropped short. It always takes me a few days to get used to the new look. My hairdresser is brilliant with razor cutting. Mr Soop loves the look.

About to take a look at the pet portrait. I am very hopeful.

Until tomorrow. smile moon

brook2704 Fri 03-Jun-22 16:44:06

Another gorgeous sunny day here in Inverness so just sitting in the garden - like you do ?
DH has put the gazebo up so we’ve got some shade and we’re just going to sit and relax with a glass of wine - I know it’s early but it is a BH weekend and we’re going raise a glass to the Queen
Hoping you feel a bit better soon blossoming I wish you were a bit closer and you could come to the garden, but hopefully the virtual kitchen might help a bit
Lovely to see you here dmms no need to read back through the thread and looking forward to seeing you here tomorrow ?

brook2704 Fri 03-Jun-22 16:46:01

Oooh soop can we have a picture please ?
Promise I’ll behave too ?

Hiraeth Fri 03-Jun-22 20:00:04

Good evening dear Kitcheners,
just settling down to a cuppa tea after making cupcakes with elderflower buttercream for our street party tomorrow .
Hope you get better soon soop and everyone else who’s feeling poorly

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 03-Jun-22 21:50:20

Well, our holiday is nearly at an end and the rain held off until about half an hour ago! We visited Cardigan Castle today and then sat by the river at an ancient pub with coffee and donuts.
