Pleased your GD is on the mend Annsixty

kittylester a worrying time ahead for you, no matter how old our children are we still want to be able to kiss everything better

soop Fri 10-Jun-22 14:33:58

Baubles You deserve our love and very best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. Knowing that you home is happy-making news for us lot. flowers sunshine

annsixty We are all here for you during this difficult time. Your granddaughter is precious. We would all worry if we were in your position.

Jax What did I tell you? Of course your grandson is enjoying a marvellous experience. Doesn't mean to say that not one of us would fret until we were reassured. grin

soop Fri 10-Jun-22 14:44:12

annsixty I have now caught up with your granddaughter's news. Wonderfully reassuring. I am delighted and trust that you will now feel able to relax a little and remember...we are here for you.

Ladyleftfieldlover and kitty I too have weathered the damage breast cancer can cause. Having my breast removed never did distress me. It was necessary. The AI I am needing to take for ten years, does cause me to feel exceeding tired. Zoledronic acid infusions...very little discomfort, apart from a day or so of vague aches in the joints.

As Baggs rightly says, sharing like experiences with others, is a huge comfort.

kittylester Fri 10-Jun-22 16:24:32

Thinly sliced brown bread with smoked salmon as promised! I like mine with a little French salted cheese spread too so I've bought some of that too, just in case.

We had a nice lunch, a good chat with DD1 and a quick look round the farm shop. There was too much to see so will have to go back.

Thank you all for your good wishes for DD1 and for me. They are much appreciated.

soop Fri 10-Jun-22 17:15:43

kitty I enjoy visiting farm shops. Always come away with a few goodies. We enjoy smoked salmon and philadelphia cheese. Sorry if the spelling is incorrect. We have discovered a new loaf of bread...ancient grains...delicious.

My best wishes to you all. Enjoy your Friday evening. Glass of wine-time at 8:30. I shall raise my glass to you lovely lot.

Dogsmakemesmile Fri 10-Jun-22 20:13:15

Evening everyone. Been busy work wise today. Lovely to see colleagues. Haven't worked for a few weeks.
Beautiful warm and windy weather here. Washing out as soon as possible this morning. Looking forward to a drive somewhere tomorrow and a coffee out.
Found out today I am very low in vitamin d. It's a relief to know why I have felt so grim for so long. Feeling much better in myself. Only had blood test yesterday and was contacted today and given prescription. Wonderful NHS! Thinking of you all. x

Blossoming Fri 10-Jun-22 21:16:12

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. I’m so glad your DGD is feeling happier and things are progressing OK AnnSixty. Your DD remains in my thoughts Kitty she will need strength to get through this.

Mr. B and I have had a wonderful day, the weather has been glorious. We drove over the moors to The Textile Museum, which I have wanted to visit for a long time. I’m so tired now I can hardly keep my eyes open and I think I will hurt tomorrow! I’m pleased I managed to walk and climb steps unaided. We treated ourselves to some naughty salted caramel ice cream after the museum tour. grin.

Jaxjacky Fri 10-Jun-22 21:49:46

Hi all, great news annsixty ???
What a wonderful trip out Blossoming quite envious.
Grandson is home, happy as anything ‘I loved it Mum and I’m so glad I went’. Granddaughter news of school skiing trip next year, good job we have funds put away for such adventures, it’ll be our pleasure.
Hair cut today, found a delightful razor lady soop, I’m happy and we’ve both joined the bowls club after our previous taster.
Thoughts with kitty, Baubles and I wonder how Panache is?
Have a pleasant evening x

Charleygirl5 Fri 10-Jun-22 21:58:52

Has anybody heard from Panache? Nobody appears to have heard from her for ages. I am aware her health was not brilliant but it would be good to know if she was just taking a mini rest from the world.

ann you must be so pleased that it is not as bad as the two of you had thought and the scar will fade over time.

soop I hope you are both taking opportunities to rest.

TOYA

Lovely photo, Blossoming

Our friend of fifty years who became ill on holiday in Wales (and was motored home in the early hours by his wife), remains poorly in hospital. His foot had to be amputated yesterday. The blood clot had blocked the blood supply to his foot. If he now improves, he'll remain in hospital for a while yet. If the surgery doesn't help, he'll need his leg amputating below the knee. Our friend has her family close by. Thankfully, she is being well supported. We are both in a state of shock. I spoke with her on the phone this morning. It's sad that I'm unable to visit her. She is such a lovely, gentle, caring friend.

Grandmabatty Sat 11-Jun-22 13:05:05

Soop that's awful. Your poor friend and her poor husband.
I am about to hoover and have been to Aldi and then a quick trip to the retail park this morning. The cleaning and dusting etc is all done. I have a VIP staying with me tonight for a sleepover. Yes, dgs1. There's a variety of food for his delectation and I have bought a couple of new toys for grandma's house. He is excited already apparently. So is grandma. ?

Blossoming Sat 11-Jun-22 13:16:50

Soop what shocking news about your friend, sending best wishes to him, his wife and family. We truly never know what life has in store for us.

Baubles hope today is a better day x

Liams abit miserable today, a touch of the dreaded nappy rash poor thing ?

soop Sat 11-Jun-22 17:18:07

Please accept my apologies for my lack of enthusiasm today. My friend is on my mind and I'm unable to concentrate. Hoping to do very much better tomorrow.

Just popping in with some pasta and pesto (quick tea for tonight) if anyone would like some. Also some home-made apple pie. Help yourselves.

It's good to hear the good news about annsixty' s DGD, baubles and others, but how sad about your friend, soop. I do hope he doesn't need further surgery.

Poor Liam - nappy rash seems to be so uncomfortable, and at that age you really can't explain that it will go away soon! He's a real wee smasher.

It's a bit windy here, but mostly sunny, so DH has been outside in his wheelchair potting on some plants. He's coming up with ideas of what we would need to change if one of us was to be in a wheelchair long-term, but I hope he won't need to make any of the changes just yet!

kittylester Sat 11-Jun-22 17:26:22

Oh, soop, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. There seems to be a lot of sadness about at rhe moment.

Take care everyone.

Wheniwasyourage.Liam is a city pie most of the time , he may of had a reaction to the washing powder i use to wash his nappies , hoping that extra sudocrem and adding extra nappy linners every nappy change will ease his discomfort x

Grandmabatty Sat 11-Jun-22 17:47:53

Dgs1 arrived at four. So far he has had an ice lolly, two large slices of melon, a pancake, chips with two sausages and a bowl of ice cream. He is currently lying on the couch beside me watching trains on YouTube. Bath time in a wee while

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Jun-22 18:57:07

Sounds like The Hungry Caterpillar Grandmabatty!
Clouded right over here now, in the sun earlier, although windy, it was most pleasant.
I’m had a gentle day, my troublesome nostril bled slightly last, I’ve been ‘nursing’ it, I do not want a repeat of previous bleeds.
So, gentle means very lazy, nothing that won’t wait, conscience is clear.
How horrendous soop your distraction is understood. You’re right kitty there is a lot of sadness on here now, I’m thinking of you along with others.
Enjoy this evening all x
