Oh no that’s a shame, hopefully you’ll be back with us soon Urms ❤️
Soop, Annsixty, Suedonim and Grannmarie
and warm thoughts to you all. x
Urms You will be assured of a warm welcome whenever you return to the kitchen.
Thank you, mrshat and many more of you lovely lot for your good wishes.
It is a fine day here in bonnie Kintyre. Not blisteringly hot. Nevertheless, it is pleasant.
We have an almighty big Burdock growing in the "bird's garden". Tomorrow, I shall photograph it for you. We had two last year. One in the front of the garden, one growing just over the fence. It is classed as a weed. Whatever, we like it, so it will remain.
I have watched a little tennis. The one remaining British male in the contest, will be on court soon.
My love and all good thoughts winging their way to you. Until tomorrow.

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Wow it’s beautiful out. Just relaxing outside after a day shopping for odds and ends with DH. Bought a new long skirt from Next as well. Hubs is going to put some pork ribs and bits of veg on the bbq later.
What has Urmstongran gran been up to naughty girl.
Enjoy your holiday Yia. Look forward to seeing some pics of places I’ve never been but would love to go.
Grannmarie hoping your DH is a little better today.
The birdsong is glorious to listen too. The bird feeders are busy. Xx
Hello, Soop and all you lovely Kitchen people, thank you so much for your support, it means a lot!
A ray of hope today, consultant says DH can recover from this IF they can get the infection under control. Problem so far is that antibiotics have not brought his very high temperature down. However, the new ' cocktail ' recommended by the microbiologists was started yesterday, so we're hoping and praying that this will be successful.
TOYA, thank you all so much???
Safe journey and have a wonderful holiday, YiaYia!
Have a fabulous holiday Yiayia photos will be great.
In my thoughts Grannmarie and sending you a hug.
A busy day on the phone today sorting out lifts for people, I’ll carry on finding drivers tomorrow.
It’s been very warm, but hazy with a breeze, tomorrow forecast hot, blinds are drawn most of the day in one room or another.
Back as soon as you can Urms
Have a pleasant evening all xx
I’m so pleased you’ve been offered some hope today, GranMarie. All this kind of thing is so overwhelming.
Best wishes to your friend, Soop, sounds like he’s making progress.
My youngest dd has just been diagnosed in A&E with Covid. She’s been working as a medic since April 2020 without getting it, but appears to have caught it on the first holiday she’s had since then.
She did a LF which was negative but her heart rate is v high so she went to A&E, where a test has proved positive.
Suedonim and Grannmarie I will be thinking of both of you. It's slightly better news Grannmarie. Enjoy your holiday Yiayia. I have pottered about today. Washing out - rain - washing in. And repeat. Have a good evening Kitcheners.
Fingers crossed your DHs infection will subside soon Grannmarie and that the cocktail of drugs will help?
SueDonim sorry your DD has succumbed to covid and she recovers quickly. ??
Still sitting outside with a lovely Prosecco.
On the way back from shopping we popped to DDs for a cuppa and had snuggles with beautiful baby Bea. She’s just over 3 months I don’t know where the time has gone.
Time to sign off for tonight. TOYA. Speak soon. X
Oh dear, Urmstongran, we will miss you, hope to see you back soon on gransnet, & especially here in this friendly kitchen.
Warm wishes to you all, from an extremely hot Cambs.,
Hmm ? are you sure you’re not just in the pub Urms? ??
Granmarie hope they can find the right treatment for the infection soon.
Hello dear kitcheners. The weeks since I last posted about including me on baubles card have flown by. How lovely to see you posting in the kitchen baubles. ?
I’ve spent the last few nights catching up with nearly 3 weeks of kitchen news and been both saddened and rejoiced. What a lot of support we offer each other. Sorry about your news annsixty.
New names have been spotted too. Welcome ?
I hope the ‘cocktail’ has all the ingredients needed to help your DH GrandMarie
The loss of dear friends is so sad and I hope your DD has mild symptoms Suedonim and it didn’t spoil her holiday.
Your latest news soop is very promising.
Enjoy that holiday Yia. Lots of snaps please.
Oh how I remember the help and advice you gave me for MrMuse and his ulcers Nannytopsy. It was so kind of you. He perseveres with the compression socks even though they are a battle every morning. He’s now had 8 months clear. I hope your DH’s ulcers show some improvement soon and you get the injections pronto.
My absence from the kitchen and GN for a while was due to my DD and DGD1 visiting. They had my full and undivided attention ??. Then my attention got diverted to work on our new home. Such a buzz of activity!
MrMuse had his hernia operation postponed as he needed to be 9 weeks clear from having covid. It will be rebooked for July. I shall have a few days to myself next week as he and his son are off to Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s a yearly indulgence for them both. Now what shall I do? ?
Take care Kitcheners.
Oh grannmarie sending much love and support to you and your DH, hoping the new treatment starts to work very soon ❤️
Have a lovely holiday Yia enjoy a very well deserved break
Hope your DD feels much better soon SueD ?
Nice to see you in the kitchen Muse
muse you’ve been missed. How’s the build coming on? ?
Hello all! I’m so hot. I used to handle heat well but not any more. Ho hum. OH, younger son I and had lunch out today. A beautiful pub on the Thames. All very tasty. Yson has been clearing out his old bedroom - he left home 18 years ago! We have masses of stuff for several charity shops, books for the Village Festival this weekend and quite a lot to be thrown away.
Just popping in to how everyone is.
Sending love to everyone with worries and sadness.
I will be back later - after a pub lunch!
Good morning to the kitchen! Welcome back muse - how long do you think your building work will take now?
? grannmarie for DH’s treatment.
I meant to wake early and water before the day warms up but that didn’t happen. Our list of jobs is just getting longer at the moment which is a bit depressing. On a more positive note, we went to see The Unthanks in concert last night which was great fun. It made me smile that the audience participation was such tuneful singing. That’s what you get from a theatre full of folkies!
I must get moving - look after yourselves in this heat but make sure you enjoy it.
Hello, Muse! You have been busy. Time to relax in the Kitchen.
Thank you for the thoughts for my dd. Haven’t yet heard from her this morning- I hope she’s just sleeping of the Covid bug.
It’s warm and muggy here after heavy rain overnight. We’ll be making a trip out later back to wear our house was, to collect a duvet I put into the cleaners three weeks ago and to get some meds for our elderly cat. I’m sure lunch will be somewhere in the mix, too.
Lovely to have you back with us muse you’ve been missed
Hoping to hear some positive news from grannmarie later ?
Lots of sun and clouds here in Inverness and quite warm, about 19º but very very windy! I was going to go to the gym this morning but DD2 washing machine has broken so I’ve a mountain of washing to get through. Its a good outside drying day as long as everything is pegged on tightly. Their broken washer needs a new drum which isn’t coming until the end of next week so I expect I’ll see a lot of them in in next few days ?
Hoping your DD is feeling a bit better today SueD
Good afternoon kitcheners. I have worked like a Trojan this morning! I was awaiting a delivery of stepladders so decided to do Saturday's housework a day early. Then cleaned all the windows and glass. I've now replaced the hideous lampshades in the hall with much nicer ones (using said stepladders) had lunch and I'm about to unload the dishwasher and wash floors before I meet up with family for a fish supper. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.
Oh my goodness grandmabatty ? slow down a bit! Bet you’ll be ready for that fish supper later
Wow GrandmaBatty - I’m guessing it’s not 33C up your way?!
