Grannmarie (apologies)
Desperately sad story of the assisted suicide of a grieving mother
Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and
Jolly good company.
Love to you ALL. Take care of yourselves and each other. I shall be with you again as soon as I'm able.
Grannmarie (apologies)
Thank you all so much.???
I hope Soop gets some help /advice from her GP today. Thinking of her dear friends in their difficulties.
I hope everyone has the best Monday possible, thinking especially of those with worries, illness or sorrow. ???
Grannmarie I could not wish for better news to start my day. So very pleased that your dear husband is rallying. I said before, he's a real trooper.
Galen Where have you been hiding? It's lovely to have you back (being bossy with me.)
I have heeded everyone's good advice. GP phoned and I told him all about the "funny turn". I have an appointment in the surgery tomorrow afternoon.
I am about to tackle some ironing. I shall do so with you lovely lot in mind. Which means...

Yassou from sunny Corfu.
Can’t begin to catch up but so pleased your DH is improving Granmarie, you must be so relieved.
Soop pleased your seeing your G.P tomorrow what a scare for you.
It’s so good to be back in Greece we have just had lunch with Greek friends we met them here nearly 40 years ago unbelievable?.A few pics first night in Corfu town, our favourite bay and home for this week.We are renting a small boat on Wednesday for the day pics will follow.
Take care all keep well Yassas.
Yiayia yassou !! I love Corfu. It's where I went with my children after my marriage broke down. Have a lovely time and enjoy being at sea tomorrow. I have pottered about the house and garden today. The weather is lovely for central Scotland. 21° and sunny. It's still a bit breezy though. I'm going to have a cuppa before heading to dd's with wine and an anniversary card. They are married seven years which is wool and copper apparently. Pork medallions for dinner. I hope everyone is well. Annsixty I hope your gd is getting better. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It’s very hot and sunny here, we have been out in the garden but have decided against a walk as it really is uncomfortable outside now. I’m sipping water as I feel a little sickly, I love the heat but it doesn’t seem to love me!
I’m glad you’ve spoken to your GP Soop, hope tomorrow’s appointment gives you some answers.
Beautiful photos Yia.
Wow! Your holiday in Corfu looks delightful, Yia. Continue to make the most of every memorable moment.
Blossoming Once upon a time I couldn't get enough of lolling in the sunshine. Used to sport a nutty-brown tan throughout the summer. For some years now, I have avoided sunbathing.
Watching the tennis from Eastbourne being played for three hours in hot sunshine, has left me totally exhausted.
Grandmabatty Seven years of marriage warrants a gift of wool and copper. That is an interesting combination. I shall mull over what type of gift I would choose.
Pork medallions...mouthwateringly delicious. We'll be having fish of one kind or another.
I shall brew Mr S a well deserved cup of tea. He's been slaving over designing a poster for the village open garden event.
I shall return tomorrow. You are never far from my thoughts. That's because you are special peoples (as our grandson often says.)

Hello all. I’ve had a charity shop, ironing and Waitrose kind of day. I took bags of books and a couple of small tables to three different Charity shops, I saved some rather heavy books for the Red Cross shop where you can park right outside. They were shut! So they’re still in my car boot. OH is cooking a Waitrose Thai ready meal tonight as I’m whacked. In Waitrose I clicked and collected two summer dresses from the John Lewis sale. I am particularly pleased as they weren’t made in China! One from Portugal and the other from India.
It’s been a gorgeous day here in Inverness too, about 19º and sunny, although it’s clouded over now. I’ve been to the gym and then pottered about in the garden - my go to happy place
Gorgeous pictures Yia enjoy your holidays
Hope everything goes ok at the doctors tomorrow soop I’ll be thinking of you ?
It's been a fabulous day here too. I have ironed, sung (sort of) then pooled and faffed.
I have slso asked DH for a divorce as I can't cope with his bonkers family any more. His eldest brother (lives in Thailand with his girlfriend) has suggested that the brother in hospital, who fell over in the toilet, should back into the loo with his walker and his trousers down to avoid a repeat accident. Honestly!!
Oh, look at that sunshine! Gorgeous, Yia.
I’m glad you’re seeing the GP tomorrow, Soop.
I hope your Dh is continuing to improve, Grandmarie.
My dd is also improving from Covid. She said that last night one of her ears began gurgling and burping and popping like a an erupting volcano and by the time it finished, she felt so much better! Isn’t that weird? But she’s very grateful! Still testing positive, though, so she can’t go back to work yet.
She’s also passed her second foundation year as a medic so she’s feeling altogether more cheerful today.
We’ve been out to explore a small shopping area previously unknown to us in the city. I’ve lived in NE Scotland for 25 years and never knew these places existed!
I hope you have a nice evening. The sun has reappeared here so it’s nice to sit in the evening warmth.
Congratulations to your daughter SueD
Well done to your daughter Suedonim. A worthy achievement.
Just back from a wander with DDog in blissfully warm sunshine, just the right temperature for me ?
I hope your doctor visit is reassuring soop, these strange vexations and buggerations are unsettling aren’t they? I have weird episodes that never happen conveniently with an available GP appointment (which are few and very far apart here ?) I suspect it’s connected to having heart failure and the medication …
One thing about having work done and the house redecorated, there’s little point in doing housework because constantly shifting furniture and shuffling stuff around negates having the space to vacuum or dust! Suits slatternly me!
The only spaces clutter-free are the kitchen and the bathroom and loo.
DDog is bemused - just wait until the settee and armchair go on Wednesday, she’ll be bereft!
I hope you all have a peaceful evening x
Good evening everyone. I have missed you. Have trawled back to when I last wrote here and have tried to make notes. Apologies if I leave anyone out.
soop please look after yourself and follow any advice from the GP. You have been under considerable stress recently following very difficult news regarding friends' health issues and perhaps that contributed towards your "funny turn". You know best.
Granmarie I am so pleased your husband is responding to treatment and recovering. It must have been a terrible time.
*Annsixty I am delighted to hear your DGD is making good progress but I appreciate these are early days. My condolences on the shocking news of your friend's son.
Suedonim I am glad DD is recovering. A relief for you.
*Blossoming I hope you are feeling better as the bruising subsides. Do take care. Falling is a horrible shock to the system.
*Kittylester Thinking of you and your daughter.
Baubles I hope your recovery continues and you will be enjoying life to the full soon.
As I said please forgive me if I have left anyone out. Shazzakanazza I sometimes speed up my tanning moisturizing treatment by using a hairdryer....a bit bonkers but it certainly speeds it up and I am sure it gives a deeper tan.
I did note some people who wrote of sad health news and tragedies apologised for so doing. There is no need. There is no better or appropriate place to write of such events in my opinion. I have unburdened myself here on several occasions and met with nothing but kindness. It is an honour to be able to reciprocate. soop has created a safe space and a haven of goodwill. It has sustained me through some difficult times when I felt unable to tell people around me. My best wishes to all of you in distress at the moment.
I will not bore you with why I have not been posting. Just the general hurly burly of life and supporting a couple of people in difficult places. Plus DS made a flying visit which was lovely. I then got myself in a pickle about "returning" but realised tonight that I am overthinking things and it is ok to bounce back in after a break. I have missed you all. You are my tribe (as they say on mumsnet...) Ddog doing great.x
And apologies if I have confused anyone with anyone else.x
Hi all, beautiful pictures Yia thank you, enjoy every minute.
That is weird SueD if it’s made her feel better though, so be it and congratulations are in order too.
The backwards in I get kitty but the trousers, I don’t think so!
Quick library visit today to use their photocopier. I like this weather, warm, a breeze, washing dried and I can function as it’s not humidly horrid like last week.
Early evening we had an introduction meeting at the bowls club, gosh, it’s a bit stuffy, I’ll be biting my tongue. I know if I suggest changes, apart from tutting, I’ll end up doing them, just play the game Jax, in both senses.
Quick wave to Urms I think BlueBalou is embracing your #lazygran philosophy admirably.
Have a pleasant evening all x
Doodle
Liamsnana I’ve been to Betts y coed too. It’s really lovely there isn’t it?
ann so sorry to hear your news. What a lot you are having to deal with recently.
TOYA
Doodle Your right its such a lovely place to visit , especially when the weather is so nice
We had an amazing time and Liam had such fun during our stay
Hello Dogsnakemesmile and Liamsnana ??
Good news about your DD SueD and a big congratulations to her too ?
Good to see you back in the kitchen again dogs and liamsnanna ?
Late again! I made strawberry jam, so the home grown strawberries haven’t been waste. I did lots of ironing and some admin for WI and choir. Feeling a bit better about the to do list but we do suddenly get some school runs added to the mix! And a pair of trousers to shorten.
I’m glad your DH is showing improved GM and ?for tomorrow soop.
Are you being hasty Kitty? Divorce seems drastic over someone else’s trousers!
I was woken at 4am by muntjac deer. They have a very loud bark!
It’s time I was in bed - early school run.
NNGB
Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. ?
Soop, I hope your Doctor is helpful and you have no recurrence of ' The Turn'.
YiaYia, gorgeous photos, thanks, enjoy your family holiday in sunny Corfu. We booked a visit for the Durrell tour from our cruise but it was so stormy that it was cancelled!
Bellanonna, thank you.
Grandmabatty, it was DS1's 19th anniversary yesterday too! I got them a nice potted planter for their garden, not sure what 19th signifies?
Blossoming, I'm glad you're recovering. You are wise to take care in the heat.
LLL you have been busy, you're inspiring me to fill a charity bag!
Brook, enjoy your garden, it sounds lovely and tranquil.
Kitty, sending love and prayers for your DD and all who love her, I remembered you all at Mass this morning. ? ? Today is the first step towards recovery.
SueD, congratulations to your DD, glad she is feeling better after 'The Eruption'!?
BB, you are getting a lot done, it'll be like a new house when you're finished.
Nannytopsy, you are very busy too, I'm ashamed to say that my house and garden have been neglected recently but I enjoyed a wee while watering the garden and sitting in the sun yesterday.
Shazza, that's a great tip for the fake tan, I must remember that!?
I'm delighted to report that DH is continuing to improve. Yesterday the nurses got him out of bed to sit up in the chair, after 10 days bedbound, he was delighted! Still on oxygen and IV antibiotics, but starting gentle physio now to help his mobility. We are very thankful ?.
Special thanks to each and every one of you for your kind wishes, PMs and virtual support. Please forgive me if I have missed you by name. I agree with what Dogs says about this very special and supportive place.
Nice to see Dogs, Galen and Liamsnana back again!
Urms, ? hello!
TOYA???
You lovely lot are amazing. But then you know that to be so.
All so busy. Much to catch up with later. A very special Liam photograph to warm the cockles of any heart.
Such great news this afternoon Granmarie
Very promising news grannmarie but I do hope no one saw you in the garden yesterday afternoon ??
