Blossoming Sat 21-May-22 20:35:14

He’s lovely Grandmajean. It’s so uplifting isn’t it chocolatelovingbran.

dragonfly46 Sat 21-May-22 20:54:43

Aah I knew I would find such lovely people here - I really must pop in more often.
Put some sneaky gin and tonics on the side - there are some nuts and crisps to soak it up.

Doodle Sat 21-May-22 21:39:42

dragonfly so sorry to hear of your fall. Hope you are ok and not in too much pain.
Soop glad to hear MrSoop’s cataracts have been done and you are both home safely. I too am putting drops in DHs eye after his cataract surgery. I hope your patient is easier than mine to get the drops into ?
Grannygravy what lovely flowers and such a beautiful colour.
Welcome to all new posters including Naughtyneine. You will find the kitchen warm and friendly.
TOYA ☀️

Hellogirl1 Sat 21-May-22 21:46:23

Ouch Dragonfly, you don`t do things by halves, do you? I hope it soon stops hurting.
Welcome Naughtyneine.
The 2 Jacks are beautiful. My Billy has lovely markings, but one unkind person likened him to Adolf Hitler! Whhat do YOU think?

Charleygirl5 Sat 21-May-22 21:54:50

Another gorgeous cat called Jack.

For various reasons this has been a day from hell so I am going to have an early night as I have a Quintin Jardine book which I cannot put down.

dragonfly46 Sat 21-May-22 22:29:23

Charleygirl hope you have a better day tomorrow.

brook2704 Sat 21-May-22 22:56:57

A busy kitchen this evening, lovely to see everyone and a special welcome to naughtyneine ?
Hoping things get a bit better for you tomorrow charleygirl
Beautiful roses GG the colour is so lovely, what a kind gift from a neighbour
A busy day here in Inverness, popped into town for a bit of shopping and there were lots of people out and about enjoying the sunshine. Seems like the hardy locals were in summer clothes and sandals and the visitors wrapped up in bobble hats and boots!
Thanks for the G&Ts dragonfly perfect
Ive not got a cat, I had one in the past but no longer. I love seeing the cat pictures on here though and hearing all about their antics

GrannySomerset Sat 21-May-22 23:24:10

Three wonderful cats to brighten the day - thank you. I miss having cats but they are a trip hazard and DH could trip over a bus ticket so we chose not to replace our nineteen year old strays. Still feel there is a cat shaped hole in my life.

My sympathy, Dragonfly, hope you feel less battered soon. Hope all goes well with Mr Soop and that the ear trouble is temporary.

Grannmarie Sat 21-May-22 23:32:57

Just popping in to say NNGB?
Another handsome Jack ?‍⬛, is he quite young, Grandmajean? Our Jack is around 7 or 8, according to the rescue people and the vet.

Gorgeous Billy, beautiful markings! I certainly do not see any resemblance to AH? Hellogirl!!

What a nice family day, Urms, I love it when generations get together. You'll be looking forward to your Ibiza celebrations!

Enjoy your book, Charleygirl, I love to lose myself in a good story... hope tomorrow is better for you.

TOYA.

Grannmarie Sat 21-May-22 23:34:21

Grandmajean Sun 22-May-22 07:38:20

My Jack is an old man now ,Granmarie
We adopted him from the RSPCA over ten years ago.

Grannmarie Sun 22-May-22 11:47:18

Good morning Soop and lovely Kitchen people!

He looks great, Grandmajean, a testament to your excellent love and care.?‍⬛

Blossoming Sun 22-May-22 11:57:57

Good morning dear Kitcheners, hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday. So many beautiful cat pictures, I’m currently catless for the first time in my whole life but I enjoy hearing about others smile. Welcome Catterygirl and any other new visitors to this warm and friendly kitchen. It’s dull and grey here at the moment but dry and warm, so a walk is the plan for this afternoon. Hoping all our invalids are on the mend. flowers

SueDonim Sun 22-May-22 12:57:02

Just sticking my head round the door as a change from packing boxes.

Lovely to see all the gorgeous cats! Our old boy is very creaky now but still as affectionate as ever.

Dragonfly, that was some tumble you took! shock sad. I bet you’re really feeling it today. flowers.

I hope Mr Soop is improving and any other invalids are recovering.

I have my own tale of woe - I sliced open a finger on a broken tea light holder yesterday. Luckily Dh managed to get the blood out of the carpet that will belong to new owners on Friday! ?

I did a Heath Robinson (he’s currently in the news) job on mending myself. I managed to get a compeed plaster on to staunch the blood then fashioned a finger stall out of a finger cut off from a nitrile glove and kept it on with an elastic band. I had to release the tension now and then to let the blood flow back into my finger. ?

Enjoy your Sunday! TOYA. Xx

Naughtyneine Us lot welcome you warmly. In fact, there may be a home-baked pastie to share with you. I've had a quiet word with Jax

Grandmajean Jack is a fine boy cat. His photo will hang in the Kitcheners' special pet gallery.

Dragonfly I know how you must be feeling after your tumble. It can shake you up and make you almost ultra-cautious. I seem to walk differently these days. A soft-shoe shuffle totter...gone are the days when I strode everywhere without a care in the world. I must confess, I am beginning to feel old and, it's a buggeration.

GrannyGravy The colour of those roses is delicious.

Urms I can still remember the wonderful street party, and getting all dressed up to the nines, on the occasion of the coronation. How time flies.

soop Sun 22-May-22 17:08:04

Doodle hmm Those drops...I know what you mean. wink

A warm welcome to Catterygirl. Consider yourself one of us lot. Do you own a cat? We feed feral cats that seem to find us regardless of our isolated location. They are free spirits. They visit when in need of a hearty meal. Maybe spend the night in a cosy so-called apartment, in the garden, and disappear back into the forest.

Oh, Sue, what a bloody nuisance. Do take care. You know it makes sense. flowers

Hellogirl1 Awww! X

What have I achieved today? Answer, very little. I have been scouting for suitable gifts for the four great grandchildren and that, my dears, is that.

We cannot go out for walks. There is no pavement between our home and the village. Mr Soop is not able to drive. I cannot walk safely on the rocky beach. Hence, I shall no doubt gain weight, which is not something I can afford to do right now. Mr Soop has lost weight (in spite of eating all the foods he fancies.) There is seemingly no justice in this world. smile

Time for log-off. I've been asked to search for a M&S carrier bag that should contain all the documents re the hospital visit. I ask you. wink

Farewell until tomorrow. TOYA. smile moon

Charleygirl5 Sun 22-May-22 17:18:59

Hellogirl how could anybody be so rude about Billy? I think he is a handsome boy and he is looking so relaxed. He does love his home and he settled in very quickly though that was not exactly yesterday.

soop has Mr. Soop's sight improved yet?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 22-May-22 17:41:01

Just a quick pop in to see how MrSoop is doing?

I do read this friendly thread, but admit to
struggling to keep up with all your news.

TOYA ?

Yiayia4 Sun 22-May-22 17:48:53

Billy is a lovely boy.?
My lovely DIL is cooking us dinner tonight I’m sure it will be lovely.
Had my eyes tested today another one for cataract operations but not quite yet probably six to nine months or so, another op to add to the list.??Have a good evening all.

Catterygirl Sun 22-May-22 17:50:13

Thank you for the warm welcome to the friendly kitchen.

I am no longer a cat owner (currently a tenant) but owned a cattery on the Costa Blanca we designed from scratch. I had a weekly cat article in the local newspaper and wrote a book about running a cattery in Spain but publishers said it was out of fashion. Even the agent for James Bowen ( Bob the Cat) turned me down. Have moved on.

dragonfly46 Sun 22-May-22 18:27:25

That is spot on soop I feel I have lost my confidence and must now face up to the fact that there are things I can no longer do.

Hope everyone has a good evening. Chilled Sauvignon on the side!

brook2704 Sun 22-May-22 18:29:28

Oh my goodness SueD hoping that poorly finger is better soon - take care!
? Hi to catterygirl you’re very welcome here, your cattery in Spain sounds very interesting and I’m sure you could tell a few stories!
Well we’ve had a trip out to the local garden centre this afternoon, bought a few bedding plants to add a splash of colour and of course we treated ourselves to a coffee and cake in the cafe, a salted caramel chocolate brownie that was yummy - no calories of course as I checked beforehand ?
Such a shame you’re stuck in for a while soop but understandable if there’s no safe pavement to walk along. We’ve a few similar roads nearby and they’re not safe at all. Maybe a few laps around the garden might be doable ? If not just enjoy the rest whilst you can and save the petrol money for little treats later!
