That was a right old strop prince Louie pulled off watching the parade with poor Kate trying to be firm in the midst of the worlds eyes He pulled faces, he thumbed his nose tried to smack her face a few times I think that he needed the naughty step , I wonder if that’s where he went when they got home He’s obviously ‘the character’ in the family

Probably needed a cuddle and feeding/changing. What sane person would call into a restaurant for a nice celebratory meal on their way back from the maternity hospital? I wouldn’t have offered to cuddle it, I’d have made my feelings known to the parents and the management.

It's a very strange thing to do!
And to leave a baby screaming like that is worse, how could a new parent enjoy a meal?

One of the ‘leave them to cry’ brigade perhaps. I wasn’t a member.

Aw, how sweetly Anglo-centric you are ?

What does that mean?

What an odd comment as I live in Wales.

Sorry, forgot you were in Wales.

It wasn't half term in Scotland. Scottish schools have different terms.

Callistemon21 Thu 09-Jun-22 10:55:04

Wales used to vary at half-term which made it difficult but now they seem to have co-ordinated, at least with border counties.

Anniebach Thu 09-Jun-22 11:24:18

That day William and Kate had visited Wales, George and Charlotte with them, not Louie. They did the right thing taking
him to the concert , his parents, brother, sister, grandparents there and the extended family.

So it angered those with perfectly behaved 4 children, it annoys
some because George wore a suit to a football match , it’s possible he wanted to wear a suit like his daddy.

Criticise Megan and Harry and the fires of hell descend, but
criticism of two children is acceptable.

but criticism of two children is acceptable.

I think if you read the thread again you'll find that nobody at all is criticising the two children you refer to.

So who knew the republicans are less tolerant of not just, certain not all, misbehavin royalty but ordinary folks youngsters as well?

Lawdy, I’d hate to be such a curmudgeon that my entitlement came before tolerance in a difficult situation involving innocent children.

We were all young once and the more honest of us will admit to not always have been well behaved in public!

Can we not go down the Republicans are curmudgeons route again? Next thing we'll all be joyless wet blankets again.

I think that if you read the thread again you will see that there have been multiple posts criticising Prince Louis and his behaviour along with criticism of Prince George wearing a suit.

Many moons ago, my 3 year old thought it would be a lark to come up on stage and blow raspberries throughout my whole song. I still remind him 30 years later.

Anniebach Thu 09-Jun-22 11:43:48

Thank you GrannyGravy

Prince Louis isn't one of the children to whom Anniebach was referring and the reference to Prince George was from somebody defending his right to be a child.

If we're not allowed to saying anything at all about these children, or other Royal children, for fear somebody misinterprets what we say, its going to be a long 15 years.

FannyCornforth Thu 09-Jun-22 13:04:48

It’s just been in the news (!) that Louis’ behaviour was due to too many sweets

I always knew if one of my DC had drunk Coco Cola at a party.

Bless him ... a child only as a very limited attention span ... was he naughty ? Many adults would have been bored just having to sit there ... all part of growing up ... no naughtier than other children his age ... At least bought a smile to people's faces ... me included ... world would be a better place if we all smiled more

Jaxie Thu 09-Jun-22 15:55:40

Will Prince Louis attempt to hit his teacher in the face when he feels tired? If he carries on thinking he can disrespect adults like this he will be a poor advertisement for the royal family, like another prince in the news.

Joseanne Thu 09-Jun-22 16:26:39

You misunderstand Jaxie. Children in that sort of situation don't go hitting their teacher or the check out lady in the supermarket or the waiter in the restaurant. They lash out and hurt the ones they love the most and who love them best. That's the whole point.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 09-Jun-22 16:28:10

I’m very glad my son didn’t.

Probably because you didn't subject him to sitting for 3 or 4 hours to watch a random parade!
Having said that I have watched children kicking and biting their poor mother while being dragged into school, who are then sweetness and light once in the classroom!

Rosie51 Thu 09-Jun-22 16:45:24

Does anyone really think that Louis hasn't been sternly reprimanded for his behaviour on the balcony? You could see Catherine had a stern face and was telling him off, but for heaven's sake she wouldn't have wanted to become "the performance" knowing all eyes and cameras were looking.
I don't believe that anyone has a child who has never misbehaved in action or word. How did they ever learn the boundaries if they never transgressed them?

Joseanne Thu 09-Jun-22 16:47:05

They'd either be lying or be extremely utterly incredibly fortunate!

MerylStreep Thu 09-Jun-22 16:52:53

Jaxie
My granddaughter is one such child who is often rude, obnoxious etc to her mother.
She would no more do that to me or a teacher than fly to the moon.

Jaxie Thu 09-Jun-22 16:53:22

When I was a religious maniac my children were expected to sit through a church service every Sunday. Of course they would have been bored, but they were brought up not to behave selfishly as to discomfort other other people. I could trust them to behave in all social situations. Can you imagine Queen Elizabeth hitting her mother in the face?

Or put it down to their perfect parenting grin
My first baby was a difficult one for his first 6 months or so, the second was an absolute breeze from day one. Who thought that was down to experience and good management? Who got brought back to earth with a bump when baby three arrived? ??

Anniebach Thu 09-Jun-22 17:01:40

Such perfect parents among us , I am definitely not one of them,

“Can you imagine Queen Elizabeth hitting her mother in the face?” asks Jaxie.

No, but I can imagine Princess Margaret doing it.
