I have just seen another comment on twitter from someone expecting the arrival of their new blue passport.
Do most people expect a blue passport now we are not in the EU?
Sorry to disillusion you but British passports are now black like the souls of the PM and the Conservative party.

I've still got my old big blue one, set against my daughter's new black one it looks blue while the new one looks black
I'd personally like a neon pink, yellow ot orange one, harder to misplace in a drawer

Do you remember the outpouring of love for my murdered MP David Amess?
He voted for Brexit.
Shame on you ?

Sorry, but tragic though the murder of Mr Amiss was (I do live close), the fact that he voted for Brexit had nothing to do with it. Can't really understand what you point is when we are discussing whether the new passports are very very dark blue or black ??

“Whoosh”!

Next time somebody says something nasty about the Labour party I'm going to bring up Jo Cox.

HousePlantQueen Mon 13-Jun-22 17:21:48

I may get a cover for mine that says Let me through, I didn't vote for this sh*t then shall try to use it in the EU citizens only queue at the airport.

I’ve always had trouble telling black & dark navy apart, especially when I used to buy smart work trousers, I used to have to check in the label!
I’m still waiting for my new passport to arrive. I don’t really care what colour it is just as long as it turns up soon.

NotSpaghetti Mon 13-Jun-22 17:34:39

I'm pretty sure mine is red even though it's a UK one ?

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 13-Jun-22 17:36:18

Me too, SachaMac. I had identical pairs of black and navy ankle boots - yes, you've guessed what I found, too late, what I'd put on.

My husband is adamant that his passport is blue. My son and I are both equally adamant that all our passports are black.

If I'm feeling impish, I will throw a comment about "the black passports" into the conversation, and just sit back and watch him try to convince everyone that they are blue grin

Did you miss this controversial remark, HousePlantQueen?

Yes, it does have to do with it.
Tarring all with the same brush.

(Added to which the PM at the time of the referendum
campaigned to remain in the EU)

Crikey. Sorry if I missed any irony in the Sir David Amess comments, is that what the "whoosh" was about? To be honest I took the "black like the souls etc" comment to be just another one of the recent controversial thread starters. Like the poster a few days ago saying that her day had been made by the Rwandan flights ban being lifted. I didn't think anyone could be so unfeeling, but I stand corrected.

maddyone Mon 13-Jun-22 18:29:40

I think we all would agree that the murder of both David Amess and Jo Cox

maddyone Mon 13-Jun-22 18:30:48

Sorry, accidentally posted too soon. Anyway we would all agree that these two murders were tragic and awful. As are all murders.

Lucca Mon 13-Jun-22 18:38:21

What is the whoosh thing ?

Esspee Mon 13-Jun-22 18:38:39

I looked up the meaning of a black soul - 'an individual who lacks the capacity for empathy and compassion.'

Very many people find the Rwanda policy, the school dinners policy pre forced Uturn and the 'Let the bodies pile high' comment lacking in empathy and compassion.

It's a shame that people are driven to saying things like this, but there is some indication that it is deserved.

Thank you for the definition RichmondPark. Perfect.

The spineless Tories who allowed Boris to survive to try to bribe the electorate into believing that he deserves another chance most certainly lack compassion and empathy with the people of this country.

Total respect to those who resigned to avoid being tarred with the same brush and those who voted against Boris.

And our current PM was a Remainer until it suited his career aspirations to change his mind…..

Are we allowed to wear glasses for the passport photo if we are wearers? I look worse without than with. And the serious face? Can’t even do an instant face lift with a smile!

Nannee49 Mon 13-Jun-22 18:57:46

Why has Ed Sheeran been dragged into this thread? Very charitable fella by all accounts, bound to be admitted through the Pearly Gates.
