WELCOME. How pleased I am to be able to say...we have a new gathering place.
Happy birthday Ann. Were you ever a member of Woman and Home lunch group with the same name?
Hope you having a lovely birthday Ann ?
Hope you are having a great birthday Ann60 and that you enjoyed your lunch. Relax and enjoy the rest of the day.
Popping in to say a belated Happy Birthday to ann. What a lovely surprise from your dgd - how is she?
May I wish you a very happy birthday Anne, I love your lounge, wish mine as half as tidy!
Happy birthday Ann!???
I have spent most of the day reclining on the sofa. I didn’t get to bed until after 2 am and OH woke me at 5am. It was too light then to get back to sleep. Daughter and I had a great time in Vienna. She has now gone off to Strasbourg for a few days. I just wish my flight wasn’t two hours late so I missed my Oxford bus. I paid for another bus which was going to Liverpool via Oxford! I have also been nibbling some Austrian chocolate covered marzipan.
Late today but wanted to wish Ann a very happy birthday. Think the heat is destroying my brain cells; it is certainly sapping my energy!
Rather late in the day for Birthday greetings, but I wanted to add my best wishes on your special Birthday, annsixty, I hope you've had a nice day.
.
Also, soop, I hope your DSs enjoyed their Birthdays.
I trust Mr.Soop's hospital was successful. Enjoy your M&S treat.
I'm flagging in this heat, no hope for my preferred 20 degrees, & soft refreshing summer rain.........!!
Take Care all.
Hello Grannybuy and happy birthday, Annsixty! ?
I ventured out with Dh in the car today when he went to get some messages. He bought me a carry-out iced latte & some lemon drizzle cake which were delish, so I’ve ordered enough for everyone here.
I feel better for having gone out, it’s been six days!
Happy Birthday Annsixty...I hope you have had a wonderful day and it's the start of a fabulous year. ????????
How did the hospital meeting go SueD well I hope? Similarly that Mrsoop had a successful check up.
A sticky afternoon, cloud trapped the heat in, a slight breeze helped, a bit, just eaten, a lot later than usual.
Better news from Australia Yia? fingers crossed.
Have a lovely evening all x
‘Evening All’
Hope everyone is okay? Many happy returns of the day to you annsixty I hope you had a wonderful day. I’ve been on the phone chatting to an old friend for well over an hour! So lovely to hear from her. Not seen her since before Covid so, despite messages, emails, birthday cards, we had a LOT of catching up to do!
This heat is energy sapping isn’t it? I don’t think it’s the temperatures per se, as I can cope easily enough with a Malaga August. It’s the humidity that we are experiencing that’s so draining and uncomfortable. What’s that saying? Horses sweat, men perspire and women glow? Well, I’m seriously glowing.
?
Good evening everyone.
I just managed to delete my message. ?
I hope you enjoyed your lunch Ann.
Our fan has been working overtime today and will continue overnight. I do hope my puffy feet shrink overnight!
I hope everyone can get cool and can sleep tonight.
Good morning all, another hot sunny day here but there’s a cooling breeze sprung up now. I dropped in to see if there was any news, will check again later.
Good morning all.
I big big Thankyou to all for yesterday’s greetings and good wishes.
I had the best day after my ominous feeling about the day and my small meltdown with my GD.
I missed my H and the family either don’t realise or don’t want to upset me.
Lunch out , we decided, was delicious sandwiches and a glass of something cold in the bar of the hotel we went to.
It was so hot and the dining room had a large party of 60/70s celebrating something.
We then had coffee with a friend of my friend in her beautiful apartment in Bramhall for those of you who know the area, lunch was at the Deanwater.
Late afternoon I had four lots of visitors all bearing gifts, lucky old me.
After a G&T in the garden and my GD was home, we had a nice chat and I went to bed early tired out.
On the whole a special day.
I felt blessed.
I will try to post a photo if I can but it is on my phone and I am not very technical, I can post on my iPad but never tried the phone.
Try no 1
No , cant do it.?
Belated Birthday Wishes Ann , that sounds like a lovely day
What a lovely day that sounds AnnSixty, so glad you enjoyed it.
Belated birthday greetings Ann!
Sounds like you had a lovely day Ann and yes I know Bramhall and the Deanwater. It’s a long time since I was there but it was always a lovely hotel. I was at the nearby Stannylands Hotel last year if you know that one!
It’s always seems to be the special occasions when we miss others so much, sending ❤️
I am delighted to hear that your birthday celebration was tip-top, Ann. You deserved it to be just that.
Naughtyneine You, dear lady, are a tyke.
Hospital visit and shopping took up the whole of yesterday. Mr S's bloods remain stable. That's a big relief. He has lost a stone and a half since last year. He now has another visit to the same hospital to look forward to in three weeks. A scan to measure his aortic abdominal aneurysm. It's been a while since the last. Covid has messed up many regular routine appointments.
I've a telephone conversation with the cancer consultant tomorrow afternoon. I've not taken Exestemene for seven weeks. I cannot truthfully report that I feel better for the break. Exhausted all the time. She may try me on another drug, or I may need to pick up where I left off. Either way, I know that it will be in my own interest. There is a high risk of the cancer returning if I do not bite the bullet.
The sky last night was superb. I took a couple of photos to share with you. Now, for my sins (as the nuns would say at the convent school that I attended), I really do need to finish a pile of ironing.
My love to you all. Stay safe and remember to avoid the mid day sun.
