What a superb essay. I learned a lot.

In addition, I hadn't heard of TERF, and had to Google Doxxing.

It's a frightening world, sometimes.

JK Rowling talks a lot of sense.

Even on this thread, the one person who criticised her views has ignored several requests to explain why.
Obviously she doesn't have to, but it seems to match real life where so many criticise JK Rowling but are very vague as to what she's said that's offensive.

Well said Vintage, the parallels between the 2 are glaringly obvious aren't they? "We're outraged and offended. But we can't explain why."

It's why the No Debate strategy was so effective. If you persuade people to believe that anyone asking questions has to be doing so from a position of transphobia, any and all awkward inconsistencies or biological impossibilities can be ignored with a roll of the eyes, a flounce, a lawsuit or by ruining someone's career.

Exactly! Well done for remembering all those responses too.

Just read her essay and I was very impressed with her logic, research and knowledge. I also had never heard of TERF or doxxing.
I think a very small angry minority are very good at highjacking a topic and claiming that they speak for all.
I totally agree with her arguments and she puts it so much better than I ever could.
