Wot a scorcher!

I prefer Spring sunshine and that wonderful invigorating soft breeze you often get. This Summer heat is too much and saps energy. Also it can ruin your skin and cause long term damage.

I love it warm and sunny with a gentle breeze but this is too much. We’re just not used to these temperatures. Nightime us worst. I sleep alone but still struggle. I’ve tried freezer packs in bed, water spray on face and body, fan, but conscious of the cost, also a battery powered neck fan but that dries out my skin, a wet body size cloth which does help but you have to rearrange it every time you move. I’m hoping I might have the answer now, I’ve ordered a large dog sized cooling pad which is activated by pressure. It’ll probably arrive when the heatwave has finished ?

Parts of France forecast to be 40 degrees this week. Today though there is a nice breeze and it's very pleasant.

No, no breeze here at 32 but luckily humidity is only 26%. Not looking forward to tomorrow when it’s predicted to be higher.

I went out earlier for a walk and later I shall go to one of the three air conditioned malls nearby, for another walk. They are fortunately quite big.

It was worse when I lived in Beijing when the law was that if it went over 40 degrees, workers could stop work. However, non the thermometers attached to the walls in the streets ever went up this far and the humidity was over 90%. I could never find an air thermometer to buy while I was there.

Once, I bought an ice-cream in a shop for my DD. When we walked outside it melted over her hands so quickly it was impossible to eat.

I hate the heat but its a nice 19 deg in Ireland so it's perfect.

I've just had the dog out today. It was cool at 8 this morning and we had a little walk in the shade through the trees this afternoon.. I won't sit outside in the sun it's too hot.

No sun here today but it is still warm and a bit muggy. We have a breeze which is welcome. The patio has a few large drops of rain on this morning.

I used the dogs cool pad in bed last night it was brilliant! I also filled my hot water bottle with cold water which was great down by my feet.

But don’t let that worry us.

It won’t be long before we can start complaining about the cold weather.

The sun is good for us. In small doses. We need a certain amount for vitamin D.
And, it won’t last for long, we all know that.

25 here , 29 yesterday and the forecast for Sunday and Monday in the high 30's. Dreading it.

20-22 degrees is my ideal temperature; warm enough to enjoy without getting overcome with the heat. Even 25 degrees at a push. This very hot, humid weather wipes me out. I am extremely fair skinned and burn very easily so have never been a sun worshipper plus I have asthma and hay fever which are exacerbated by heat and humidity.

As a person with MS and being heat intolerant, as soon as temperatures hit 23⁰C I have to practically hibernate.
I love the sunshine but it has such horrible effects on me that it's not even worth opening the curtains.

Spent the U.S holiday weekend in the Midwest heat wave. Our Air Conditioner stopped working the Friday evening. It was over 40⁰ all 3 days, with humidity between 70 and 90%. When the repairman came Tuesday afternoon it took him 10 minutes to replace two burnt out bits and get the cursed thing working again. Talk about bad luck!

I’m another with heart failure and I find this weather so uncomfortable, it’s like breathing through cotton wool ☹️
By 5pm I am completely exhausted although doing very little.
My only consolation is that I can sit and crochet whilst watching TdF!

We are in France and had to to to Brive la Gaillarde yesterday, to a DIY shop. It was 37C in town! Fortunately back at the house it was a bit cooler at 33C, but still too hot to do anything.

I don't see us doing any gardening during the day - waaay too hot. Possibly early mornings and later evenings (if I can stay awake after 8 or 9) when it is cooler.

Puts me in mind of the beginnings of the '76 scorcher that went on for weeks and weeks!! I'm always intrigued as to why the advice given when "out in the sun"? When in Malta many years ago now, in the heat of the day, shutters were closed windows tightly closed, people stayed out of the sun wherever possible. Being clever shading and venting the house can render a cool oasis. Many neighbours have windows thrown open in the heat! How daft?! Just watched a News shot of the very elderly in sun eating lollies at a care home! Outside? Under a cheap parasol?Why? Also the curtains wide open with olds sitting inside, blistering, while care home owner says they do everything possible to keep them all cool? Utter rubbish.why are we so incapable of logical and sensible thinking in this country, and it's not that we're not used to it! We simply are dumb I think

Pity that the national weather skips entirely the northwest of England the northeast of England Yorkshire Lancashire Cumbria and all the east coast above the Wash! in fact it leaps from South East across a bit to Cornwall ( playground of the social climbing twerps) then lurches to northern Ireland and settles for usually about 9/10 of the forecast on ......Scottish Highlands and Islands , specially when that carol Kirkwood is prattling on! So here In Northern England yesterday we had high cloud warm but no open sun, smattering of rain spasmodically a very pleasant afternoon and evening and a very mild yet comfortable night, eat your hearts out!

The temperature here, according to Alexa is 13° and she is usually fairly accurate.

It's apparently 19 here at the moment (Nottingham) and there's a breeze, which is lovely. My friend is in Turkey and it's 45 degrees!

I love it! Sun worshipper here. We sat outside at 11pm on Monday night with an ice cold lager - it was absolute bliss. This is what we pay thousands of £s for when we go abroad. However I do accept that, for some folks, it’s unwelcome. It won’t last long anyway!
