Well thank goodness this new PM debacle is over.. just have to see if what is promised is delivered and hope we all get the support we need?

Fleurpepper Mon 05-Sept-22 12:39:17

Gawd help us !!!

I second that!

Perhaps now they can get on with doing what they should never have stopped doing, governing and finding answers for the problems we face.
But I doubt it .

nexus63 Mon 05-Sept-22 12:44:06

oh god no...she will be a nightmare, hope we get an election sooner rather than later....ps i am scottish and i don't think she likes sturgeon.

ElaineI Mon 05-Sept-22 12:44:11

Ok so apparently UK ends at Carlisle according to Liz ? Might need a passport to visit Balmoral in that case

Blondiescot Mon 05-Sept-22 12:45:30

Well, we're all well and truly f*** now...

Zonne Mon 05-Sept-22 12:46:32

I’ve just said elsewhere: this is Tory party members not caring what is best for the country (unsurprising) but also against the best interests of their own party, as Truss is so unpopular with the wider electorate.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 05-Sept-22 12:46:54

Dreadful choice.

Boz Mon 05-Sept-22 12:47:12

She has picked up a Poisoned Chalice. Sunak is the real winner as he can distance himself from what is probably coming for the Tories.

Smileless2012 Mon 05-Sept-22 12:47:17

Looks that way Blondiescot.

How quickly can we rebuild Hadrian's Wall? grin

NannyJan53 Mon 05-Sept-22 12:48:05

I am in despair! What a very bad choice.

I think that could be an understatement.
She doesn't appear to like Drakeford either.

Man the barricades!

Callistemon21 Mon 05-Sept-22 12:48:31

Sorry, sexist remark.

People the barricades

Oldnproud Mon 05-Sept-22 12:50:16

Well, we're all well and truly f*** now...

Those were my exact words to my DH when the result was given.
As if things were bad enough already, without this.

nanna8 Mon 05-Sept-22 12:51:11

Wait and give her a chance. I must say I have never heard such a load of boring bulltish pre the announcement. No wonder people dislike party political types, they just went on and on and on.

MiniMoon Mon 05-Sept-22 12:54:29

My reaction too Blondiescot. My words to my DH, "well, now we're b******d.

micmc47 Mon 05-Sept-22 12:55:25

Who?....

Joane123 Mon 05-Sept-22 12:56:56

Terrible result.

Zonne Mon 05-Sept-22 12:57:30

So, if my maths is right, c98,300 people have just chosen the leader of 67 million of us.

Seems fair.

Zonne Mon 05-Sept-22 12:59:57

Wait and give her a chance

We don’t have any other choice. But it’s not like she’s an unknown entity to us, hence all the disappointment and anger on this thread, including from Tory voters.

westendgirl Mon 05-Sept-22 13:00:21

The voting members of the Conservative party don't seem to be very good at it.
I cant understand why they would choose someone who was not the favourite of the M.P.s

Would you not expect a leader to be chosen by the party this is not a general election. It would be exactly the same for any party.
Good luck to her she is going to need it.

I'll third it!!!

Wonder what was written on the 600 odd discarded ballots???
