Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start does not feel as cold as previous morning.
Yesterdays iron infusion went OK roughly 30 minutes on a drip , I think they are going to notify my Doctor as to follow ups if not tablets.
Today this afternoon a preop assessment at the Churchill in Oxford , brother taking me in.
Take Care ,
Mick

grandMattie Wed 12-Oct-22 05:56:01

Good morning from a chilly E Kent.
All best best for your tests today, Mick.
Had a busy day yesterday what with T’ai Chi class, which I led as our usual lady didn’t feel up to it. I left DL in her chair to let her visitor in, and had prepared a tray with everything ready for them to make tea/coffee.
After a short nap, the podiatrist came to tend to DL’s toenails. She then had another visitor. The (retired) Bish was wearing a baseball cap. I idly asked him if he wore flat caps, he said that he had lost his cap the day before - it had fallen out of his pocket. I immediately got DH’s one, which I had wanted to give to someone who would appreciate it. Result! He was delighted and touched.
I went to a WI talk on the lost pubs of Sandwich. Apparently, there had been 125 pubs and ale houses at one stage, but then it had been one of the most important towns in the country, being not far from London and having a navigable river up to Canterbury. Unfortunately the speaker was boring.
Quieter day today, just laundry.
Hope all celebrations go well, all appointment too. Be kind to yourselves. Carpe diem. ?????

BlueBalou Wed 12-Oct-22 06:11:29

Good morning Mick and grandMattie, it’s a dry start here too.
Yesterday I really enjoyed the crafts session and as usual it was lovely seeing everyone.
The afternoon’s WI was hilarious, such a lovely group of friendly people. I’m so glad I made the effort to join.
Today I have a manicure this morning then I need to look for some bits a friend would like for card making.
I was trying in vain yesterday to summon up some enthusiasm for thinking about Chr……., none was forthcoming so will have to try again sometime.
I really don’t care much at all for it, I was perfectly happy not celebrating it during lockdown!
Ho him ?

BlueBalou Wed 12-Oct-22 06:11:53

Ho hum for goodness sake ?

Sar53 Wed 12-Oct-22 06:22:53

Good morning from Essex by the sea. It's too dark to see what the weather is like.
I arrived back from Leamington early afternoon yesterday after a long, tiring but relatively easy journey.
Today we have to go food shopping, a visit to the boat and maybe lunch out.
My loving thoughts go to all on Gransnet who are going through very tough times at the moment xx

Urmstongran Wed 12-Oct-22 06:31:41

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s still dark. I’m up an hour before sunrise again ha! Not sure about our weather forecast today but no matter really as we are off to pick up my stepfather late morning to take him to M&S Food Hall near him. We go away on Monday for a month and he wants to ‘stock up’. When we come home I want to put my summer sandals away and get out my boots and brogues ready for our return. We decided last night not to swap the duvet over for the winter one yet as this apartment is still cosy - no heating needed yet either.

I’m sat here in bare feet admiring my pedicure from yesterday however over here I’ll need my toes in shoes when I go out. I’ll be in sandals by Tuesday though!

Hope all goes well at your pre-op Mick it’s good you have your brother to take you. Enjoy Wednesday all who can. x

Nannagarra Wed 12-Oct-22 06:33:28

Good morning from Sefton which is still cloaked in darkness and where it has evidently been raining.
Collecting following clicking, planting of daff bulbs, a swim and the school run will keep me busy.
Good luck for today Mick. You’re not alone in your thoughts about C*@#&*s, Blue Balou!
Thinking of you all.

Grammaretto Wed 12-Oct-22 06:39:44

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Windy and mild here
I had to escape yesterday when the house was taken over by the preparation for the new boiler. Change of plan; it won't be the one I ordered as there's a very long wait from Germany so another make will come from England.
I shall escape again today - to yarn group where we'll sort the world out.
I have an eye test too.
I hope your hospital appointment goes well. Mick
gMattie you are a wonderwoman! Teaching TaiChi on top of all you do.
My young helper leaves tomorrow. I'll miss him.
I hope the day goes well for everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 12-Oct-22 06:56:35

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. Still dark but it’s dry.

I really enjoyed my coffee morning get together yesterday. Lots of laughs just what I need right now.
We took GS out for some fresh air in the afternoon and apart from his appetite not being back to normal he was full of beans!

Today I am thinking of going to a matinee performance at a local theatre.

Good wishes today Mick

Beechnut Wed 12-Oct-22 06:58:35

Good Morning everyone from a dark Severnside. When I got out of bed it was unusually bright on the landing. It was next doors top of the garden security lights.

I’m off to have my feet done first thing and then a visit to the hairdresser.

I don’t like the change over to shoes. I’m still in my sandals and will cling on for as long as possible.

Hope all goes well for you all today ??

Gala Wed 12-Oct-22 07:00:40

Another good morning from Sefton & as Nannagarra says it's dark & damp here, with more rain forecast.

Zumba on Zoom this morning but no particular plans for the day. I have sewing to be getting on with & we could resume our search for white radiator paint - why is it proving so difficult?

Take care.

Ashcombe Wed 12-Oct-22 07:08:17

Good morning from a cloudy but mild Torbay.

Last night I went to see A Perfect Likeness at our theatre, performed by a visiting company. It was based on an imaginary meeting between Charles Dickens and Lewis Carroll. Two very gifted actors kept us transfixed throughout their performance.

Best wishes to those facing challenges, including medical procedures, Mick. Happy hump day! ?????

SunshineSally Wed 12-Oct-22 07:24:23

Good morning Mick and everyone from south Hants. I haven’t peeked behind thr curtains yet to see what the weather is like.
Today I’m doing a food shop for my in-laws and then the DGC are coming over. Feeling the effects of my cleaning spree at the in-laws yesterday - the floor cleaning on my hands and knees in particular!
Mick hope your pre-op goes well.
grandMattie What a shame the speaker was boring. I would have been stifling yawns aplenty!
Urms How lovely to be able to spend your time between countries. I’m excited for you and just a tad envious lol ?. You’ll notice the difference in temperature when you come back!
Grammaretto do hope you get your boiler sorted soon. So frustrating isn’t it, when you have the money to pay but have to wait so long.
BlueBalou I haven’t even thought about Ch******! ? Just can’t get in the mood tbh.
Sending good wishes to those that are feeling low and\or in pain??. Have the best day you can. Hope all appointments go well.
Hugs and ? for you all x

Greyduster Wed 12-Oct-22 07:24:54

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s barely light but dry in South Yorkshire and I have just had a hot shower after two days without hot water. The plumber should be finished today and then I’ll have heating too. My goodness we are spoiled. I grew up in a two up two down with coal fires, one cold tap and an outside loo. My mother would be huffing in disgust at how soft I had become!
GrandMattie my DH was mightily fond of his flat cap. He lost it for a while last year and was utterly miserable. Then I found it on top of the barbecue in the garage and I’ve never seen his face light up so much! It went with him when he left us. The very least I could do.?
I am supposed to be test driving another car this morning, but it depends on what time the plumber is going to finish, so we’ll see.
I had better crack on. Plumber will be here at eight! Have the best day you can folks.

ginny Wed 12-Oct-22 07:26:52

Good morning from a dull but not too chilly N. Bucks.
DGS3 will be here for an hour or so this morning and I have a hair appointment this afternoon. Bits and bobs otherwise.
Hoping all medical appointments go well and Wednesday is kind to everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 12-Oct-22 07:27:26

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

DH cut the grass yesterday he’s hoping it could be the last time. Our cosmos is looking better now than it did all summer.

My visit with Mum and Uncle went fine. They were both on good form. Mum wanted to know all about my holiday in Menorca. I was showing her pictures and she said your dad is still a very handsome man and for the first time in my 59 years I asked her why they split up. Heck my DH have had bigger disagreements over what to cook for dinner. But as she said ‘you have to understand Shaz we were very young’.

Today I’m going to the gym and later picking up GS from school.

Thinking of all those with hospital appointments today and struggling with illness.
grandMattie you are amazing with everything you do everyday?

Love to everyone and take care??

Pittcity Wed 12-Oct-22 07:33:46

Good morning from chilly Colchester where the sun is peeking from behind the clouds.
Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre and an x-ray on my ankle this afternoon. Both the cafe and hospital are easily walkable...so glad we moved. My ankle seems to be growing extra bone and it's causing a bit of discomfort, but not enough to stop me walking, which is my only real form of exercise.
Love to all ? x

kittylester Wed 12-Oct-22 07:36:06

Good morning from a blowy and grey North Leicestershire.

Another day of not a lot happening today. I called the gp at the start of the week as I seem to be making very little progress. A senior nurse practitioner was dispatched and diagnosed a chest infection and pleurisy which was blow. I am feelibg quite a bit better but look forward to being able to take a deep breath or even cough.

Thinking about everyone with sadness and worries.

Urmstongran Wed 12-Oct-22 07:40:38

Oh kitty sorry to hear you’re struggling during your convalescence. Why you can’t take a deep breath you really do want to be able to! Glad the nurse came out to you.
Get well soon now. ?

BlueSapphire Wed 12-Oct-22 07:40:39

Good morning everyone from an overcastl Northampton, but with a pink tinge in the east. Washing is in the machine already. Will be changing the bed later.

Nearly a full house for our health walk yesterday and we all enjoyed the lovely sunshine. Then coffee afterwards followed by a visit to inspect a friend's new kitchen. Walked home after that, ready for my slow cooker chilli.

General tidying this morning, then out to well-being cafe after lunch, where I shall get on with my knitting while setting the world to rights over coffee and cake.

Hope all goes well today, especially Mick with his hospital visit.

brook2704 Wed 12-Oct-22 07:41:18

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and breezy, it’s a cold wind blowing though.
I had a lovely busy day with the DGC yesterday, a walk out to Culloden Battlefield and visitor centre in the morning and then after lunch we took them swimming in the pool at the gym. Lots of splashing around and laughter, we certainly livened the place up! Today I’m back to the gym but on my own this time. There’s a couple of classes to do and then I’ll be ready for lunch across the road with my friend.
Hoping all goes well today Mick and everyone else with appointments too
I bet you enjoyed that hot shower greyduster and hope the heating is on later too
Kitty get better soon
Take care all whatever the day brings ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 12-Oct-22 07:42:41

Morning all

The 7yr old slept over last night, he has just had a bacon sandwich and fresh orange juice. I have made his packed lunch and there is washing going round in the machine, phew is it time for bed?

(((Hugs))) for poorly folks and those who just want some x

Have your best day folks ?‍♀️?

monk08 Wed 12-Oct-22 07:43:25

Good morning all from the Black country very overcast at the moment.
Such a lovely day yesterday after DH flu jab went for a walk around the arboretum, the colours on the trees were delightful.
There was a silk screen display in the cafe area, such talented people, it depicted images of places and famous people from the area.
Today I'm helping at mums and toddlers so will need a rest later.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Wednesday everyone and may you all find some ?.

cornergran Wed 12-Oct-22 07:49:25

Morning Mick, morning All from a cool, cloudy corner of Somerset.

Our drift out turned into a night away and very nice it has all been too. A two hour call from our goddaughter last evening was exhausting though. Back to normal today with a grocery delivery and some much needed dust removal, ironing to do too.

Oh heck kitty, mo wonder you’ve been struggling. Hope on the mend now. Good luck with the pre op mick. Hope the x-ray outcome is helpful pittcity. I remain in awe of your energy grandmattie

Thinking of all with sadness or worries whether big or small. Hope Wednesday is gentle with us all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 12-Oct-22 07:51:02

Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire. I should be going to my dentist this morning for a checkup but I’m going to postpone. I had my flu and covid boosters yesterday and I have woken up with both arms throbbing. After a low fibre breakfast I can’t eat anything until after my colonoscopy tomorrow morning. This afternoon and evening I must take two lots of laxativesad So a fun day. Not. I’ve just been reading about the pension debacle! We took most of our pensions as lump sums and invested the money. Of course that may not be worth much soon. Have a good day everyone.
