Come the next General Election, who would you most rejoice to see losing their seat?

(Apart from Boris, that is, assuming you’re not a fan.)

Mine would be Jacob Rees-Mogg, no question.

DutchDoll Thu 27-Oct-22 12:32:00

Ranil Jayawardena and Rees-Mogg

Rosy2 Thu 27-Oct-22 12:33:05

Braverman and Patel two awful people. The whole shower of this conservative front bench. Never felt more ashamed of our government this past few years.

Keffie12 Thu 27-Oct-22 12:36:54

All of the Tories.

Top 10 would be

Boris
Mogg
IDS
Mark Francois
Gove
Braverman
Patel
Truss
Raab
Anyone from the ERG

Scratches head at why anyone wants Angela Raynor to lose her seat! ? She is an amazing sazzy woman, who is/was a single mom who has made good

Callistemon21 Thu 27-Oct-22 12:38:52

All of the Tories

So no meaningful Opposition?

SecondhandRose Thu 27-Oct-22 12:38:57

Starmer cos he’s a wet lettuce and I still don’t know what his policies will be unless he’ll just promise everything like Corbyn.

Another vote for Rees-Mogg and Diane Abbott and Bojo as we are sick of him now.

We'll do it wink

Callistemon21 Thu 27-Oct-22 12:44:02

?

Perhaps the Lib Dems!
Always third here sad

Neilspurgeon0 Thu 27-Oct-22 12:47:52

Suella Braverman is definitely my first choice but Rees-Mogg, Priti Patel, Gavin Williamson, and Johnson all score highly on my personal “delighted if I never hear of this t**t ever again” meter.

Liz Truss, without a doubt. For her arrogant self-belief and total ignorance of basic economics. She's cost us, as a country and as individuals, many billions of pounds. Every single person is the UK is worse off because of her bungling.

leeds22 Thu 27-Oct-22 12:58:17

Another vote for Rees-Mogg. Plenty more on my list but it would take too long.

StoneofDestiny Thu 27-Oct-22 13:04:39

Every single Tory

IrishDancing Thu 27-Oct-22 13:09:25

Rees Mogg - Westminster
Angus Robertson - Holyrood

Edith81 Thu 27-Oct-22 13:11:45

The whole of the Tory Party and can’t stand Rees Moffat.

Brought to you by your friendly Scottish Fact Checking Service.

Angus Robertson is not an MP and therefore will not lose his seat at the next General Election because he hasn't got one.

Bluecat Thu 27-Oct-22 13:13:40

It's like being offered a box of chocolates. So many to choose from!

I have a particular dislike of Iain Duncan Smith who instituted the punitive benefits system. The way that the sick and disabled are treated is particularly bad. I have known a couple of seriously ill people who have been refused PIP, and there have been cases of people having their benefits stopped because they missed appointments, because they were dying. IDS would probably be top of my list.

But there are so many more. Rees-Mogg, of course, but also Therese Coffey, Suella Braverman, Mark Francois, Pritti Patel, Jeremy Hunt ...Well, all of them, really.

And Keir Starmer. Partly for stabbing Jeremy Corbyn in the back after being in his Shadow Cabinet, and partly because he isn't the right person to lead Labour. He has all the charisma of a dead jellyfish.

MaizieD Thu 27-Oct-22 13:35:23

He has all the charisma of a dead jellyfish.

We've just tried charisma; look where that got us...

'll take the wet jellyfish, thank you.

Happy for all the current tory cabinet, and many past members, to lose their seats.

Newdawn Thu 27-Oct-22 13:36:03

Rees mogg.

LoisH Thu 27-Oct-22 13:38:13

Definitely Jacob Rees Mogg; Nadine Dorries; Nadhim Zahawi; Chris Philp and Boris for starters!!
I would love to know how any reasonable person would have even considered voting for Jacob Rees Mogg! I mean...seriously!!!!!!????

Newdawn Thu 27-Oct-22 13:38:32

I would add liz truss..after causing distress and misery to so many by her dictatorial actions, she didn't offer any apology!

yogitree Thu 27-Oct-22 13:41:16

All of the Tories and Keir Starmer.

LizzieDrip Thu 27-Oct-22 13:41:47

So no meaningful Opposition

…Tories meaningfulconfused???

Tinydancer Thu 27-Oct-22 13:45:03

Rees Mogg
Braverman
Patel
Johnson
Hunt
Duncan Smith
Truss
Kwarteng
Francois
Dorries
and my own mp from one of the longest consistent Tory seats in the country.
Also Richi Sunak having promised the earth on the steps of Downing Street just like May and Cameron, but HE broke it the very next day. By reappointing Braverman to Home Secretary six days after she was sacked he has put our security at risk. He has made the country vulnerable, she is having retraining in security by MI5! Her actions would have meant instant dismissal in ANY other walk of life but he has brought her back. No doubt Russia will be targeting this weak link.

LadyGracie Thu 27-Oct-22 13:46:01

All of them and start afresh with people who have life experience. The glorified top civil servants can go with them.

Jeanraff Thu 27-Oct-22 13:49:03

Starker,Reeves

Anniel Thu 27-Oct-22 13:51:30

Volver, you were disparaging about John Major ( I find him rather dull) However if we talk about Millionaires…look at Labours front bench. All of them who live in North London havd homes which are worth well over £1-2 millions. And some of them ars sitting on large fortunes. So I smirk when I see the Labour front bench talking about Rishi being rich. It is a matter of many politicians who are rich by the standard of the man in the street. Anyway to all those who hate the eccentricity of Jacob Rees Mogg, you can hope. However, his reputation as a good local MP makes him safe.
I think hoping for someone of either party to lose their seat shows a degree of hate and resentment which are not desirable qualities. I admit to being on the verge of that with Tom Watson, due to his awful allegations that ruined the last years of some politicians and also hurt the reputations of some politicians who were already dead. I simply do not think he should go to the Lords. And I see others think the same. However, as he is not standing for election he does not fit into the category of this thread.
