On such a wet windy day I settled down to unknot a very knotted silver necklace chain found in the hoover. I enjoyed every moment of undoing this puzzle and felt so relaxed and pleased with myself.

Day dreaming and obfuscation in an attempt to avoid the dreaded paper work.

I hang all my chains on one of those tiny mannequins with the hooks at the top. They never get tangled now. It takes up space on the dressing table, but worth it.

Don’t mean obfuscation mean another word which escapes me.

Silver chains’ big brother has got to be Christmas lights. I believe they spend the year partying in their box before flopping in a heap at the end of November. This year I hope
that I have foiled them by the use of a sturdy Am…on envelope, The plug placed in the envelope the lights wound round the outside, the ‘end’ taped on the inside and the envelope resealed.

This was my, perhaps premature, therapy today. Won’t know whether it worked til next Christmas, but don’t feel in the least bit like a party pooper!

My therapy has been checking on my finances after Christmas and lots of December and January birthdays. Not quite as bad as I thought so feel better about that.

My therapy has been a letter from the taxman saying I’m due a tax refund. I usually dread his letters but this has made my day. 😍

Thread your silver chain through a straw to stop them tangling

Vintagegirl Tue 10-Jan-23 12:23:37

Boxes of decs back into attic.... try to reduce each year.

My therapy today was coffee with The Friends of the Museum and a guided tour of an exhibition of the work of the artist Jane Elisabeth Cook.

My daughter had a stand at Rupauls dragcon. She lives 4 hours away, drove down to stay with us for the weekend. I spent three days helping her at the excel centre she made a fair bit of money, we had some great talks and I got to see some fab queens

My therapy is being in the kitchen on my own it's my favourite way to spend time.
This morning I made a big pan of meat free Ragu enough for two different meals. I make two or three meat free meals each week tonight cottage pie tomorrow spag bol.
I also made a large pan of French onion soup it will do for our lunch for two days only as it's addictive.

I went back to the Rock Choir which I hadn’t been to since the start of the pandemic. Somehow I just couldn’t do it. p
Plucked up courage and went this morning and was very warmly welcomed by everyone. The rehearsal went very well and I came away as high as a kite. So glad I went back.

When you say ‘meat free’ do you mean you do a veggie version or do you use a meat substitute like Quorn or something ?

One friend arrived, then another - and found they knew each other. Wonderful way to spend an otherwise lonely morning!

Watching the otters play in the river. Pouring with rain and the last shop I wanted was closed whilst she went to PO, but glad I waited.

Kryptonite Tue 10-Jan-23 14:18:24

Listening to the pouring rain.

oh lucky you- watching otters play is so amazingly wonderful. May I ask where you are (vaguely).

Our East of England smal market towns had resident otters about 4 years ago, for a few months, right by the market. I stood on the bridge there for hours and hours, and some more, from dawn to dusk. The other time I watched them live was on the Isle of Mull and the Ardramuchan (sp?) peninsula, many moons ago.

Cleaning out the cutlery drawer. How does it manage to get crumbs etc in it when it’s only opened to remove/put back clean knives and forks?
One of life’s great mysteries.smile

I think they find their way into the drawer from the counter top after you’ve made sandwiches. You wipe up the crumbs but some will find their way into the drawers or onto the floor.

Feeling very virtuous as I'm sorting out cupboards and getting things ready for the charity shop. Listening to my playlist on Spotify and had a wee dance around the kitchen earlier.

Yes, the tax return hanging over me too... the next thing to do I guess. Not therapeutic though!

The same with the dish drainer, how does it get filthy when you only put cleaned and washed plates and cutlery in it?

A friend dropping in for an hour before work and being able to give her a simple homemade lunch of soup cheese scone and traybake

Dornoch Firth. Have been looking out for them recently but they can be shy. These ones were very playful but about 40 yards away
