Good Morning Everyone,

Did Bicester yesterday , I had a letter as to my operation next week , I have to ring them to begiven a time to arrive as its a day surgery with possible few days in a ward after .
Take Care,
Mick

grandMattie Sun 19-Feb-23 06:13:37

Good morning from E Kent.
You must be pleased to have a date and more information regarding your operation, Mick. All the best.
I had an uneventful journey home, with the usual hiccups - my train ticket went through all the machines but not a single one opened the tube gates… 🤨
While on the train, DD called to say that, at last my offer on the flat had been accepted. They only took nearly three days… I can instruct my solicitor and proceed. Do that tomorrow.
Once home, I made a cuppa, then went for my paper. On my way home, I met a friend and had a cup of tea with her, then saw my neighbour, had tea with her
Early service, the make a plan of the flat to see what furniture would fit - not much, I think.
Thinking of everybody with troubles and rejoicing with those who are happy! Carpe diem/horam 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.

Good news re the flat grandMattie.

Mick, I’m pleased that you will finally be having your surgery next week.Try and stay in as much as you can now, you don’t want to be picking up any germs or bugs that may postpone things.

We’re up early today as we are going to Stafford to spend the day with DD,SIL and our lovely B.He enjoyed his party yesterday.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It feels mild and looks misty. Well done GM. It looks like things are moving! My daughter is still here but we will need to have lunch at 1 pm as she needs to be back in London early evening. So a day filled with cooking! Pottery off this evening and a check of my ‘things to do’ list for next week. Actually I’ve just remembered that I haven’t typed up last Wednesday’s notes from the WI meeting! I suppose my excuse could be that I was in Kew. Have a good and peaceful Sunday.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset seems dry.

Very tired by the time I drove us home yesterday. I know this is illogical but I felt so guilty having taken one of only 3 blue badge spaces for 7 hours. Mr C went for a nap. I made some phone calls and heated some lasagne which we both enjoyed. Today will be a gentle one, some admin for me and a jigsaw for Mr C to hopefully finish. I do hope so, this one has been much muttered over and been on the dining table for far too long.

Good news grandmattie. A friend is negotiating the same furniture decisions and finding it a challenge. Mick it’s a good idea to avoid busy places before your surgery. Does the hospital want covid testing? Mr C has been asked to do them for four days prior to both day case procedures.

Enjoy what you can of today everyone. Hope Sunday is gentle with us all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Good advice from Susan, Mick. Be super careful not to pick up any nasties. A lovely sunrise in South Yorkshire this morning. DD and her menfolk are coming for a roast dinner today. I still have blackberries in the freezer so a crumble for ‘afters’. I seem to have lost my walking stick - I hope it’s in the car. I’ll be distraught if I can’t find it - it’s the one DS carved for me.
Have a happy Sunday folks.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s going to be sunny today. I can already see patches of blue and the planes in the sky. I often wonder where the people are going or where they have been.

Good news for you both Mick and Mattie.

I earned my gin and tonic last night as I had a very successful day sorting in my garage and it’s ready for Beechnutella’s swopsie. Hope to do some more decluttering today and want to run a few things by her about what to do with stuff.

Have a good day all and enjoy your roasts 🌼🌞

Good morning, some sun today from s somerset

Very good news GM flowers

I have discovered more about my pressure washer, it is very good. I cleaned mine and neighbours drives yesterday, they came up a treat and for the first time as a widow, cleaning my car did not involve a hefty road trip. I have car cleaner liquid and a foamer and the car is now spotless and shiny. I only needed a small set of steps to reach over the top.

I have decided to go out on my e bike today, charged the battery last night and need to check tyre pressures later. Farms, lanes and orchards

Good morning from a bright start in Torbay.

I’m pleased your date has been fixed, Mick. Do you have to isolate beforehand? I had to be out of circulation for a week prior to my surgery but perhaps it depends on the operation.

What a relief regarding your offer, grandMattie! I found it difficult to part with some furniture resulting in me now occupying a rather crowded flat!

Enjoy your GS's birthday celebration, Susan56. It always brings back happy memories when you mention Stafford. As you know, I spent much of my working life there.

A beautiful sunrise, Greyduster; thank you for sharing. I do hope the walking stick turns up as it sounds special.

Yesterday, we enjoyed lunch at a pub/restaurant on the Downs. Sea bass with tiny herb potatoes, spinach and roasted cherry tomatoes. (No shortages here unlike elsewhere according to another thread.)

Church this morning for me. Yesterday, the Rainbows and Brownies watched the sunrise then were treated to bacon butties at church.

Have a blessed Sunday, everyone! 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

glammagran Sun 19-Feb-23 07:38:45

Good morning to you all. No roast here (that will be next Sunday). We are having an M&S venison casserole so an easy dinner. We have tried a few of their slow cooked (sous vide) meals and think they are pretty good. Tomorrow I am having a bash at making kumquat marmalade. So much easier than all that prep with Seville oranges.

We made a decision to get a Ninja machine after much deliberation only to find they are sold out virtually everywhere. Available on Amazon but they are not the cheapest retailer so we will wait.

We met a lovely couple on our cruise last summer with whom we kept in touch. Last week the wife sent an email to let us know her husband has died after a short illness. So sad and shocked.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

Pittcity Sun 19-Feb-23 07:39:55

Good morning from a grey, breezy Colchester.
A quiet Sunday here with a roast dinner later. We need to pop to Lidl for meat and potatoes.
Love to all 🦩 x

Whitewavemark2 Sun 19-Feb-23 07:40:51

Good morning from the South Downs. Curtains are open and it promises to be a lovely day.

Dog is nagging because we are missing the day🙂. Must trot out in a while.

Not sure about today, mulling with going to Arundel and walk along the river, then have lunch out, but wonder if it is still muddy.

If not will garden and have silverside pot roast with carrots and celery and usual veg to accompany for dinner. DH will probably opt for that as he loves pot roast especially if I do yorkshires.

Dog is stepping up the pressure.

Have a magnificent day one and all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and damp. Hopefully it'll clear. Mick good news about your operation date. grandmattie and good news for you too. You can make plans. When I downsized I got rid of most of my existing furniture and bought new to fit my bungalow. It was a new start and meant decorating was easier with fewer bits to move about. I'm ruthless though! Glammagran I have made marmalade a few times but only once with Seville oranges. The faff with pips! Susan I'm glad wee B had a good time. And you did too.
Yesterday was happy housework day. I cleaned the windows and glass as well.
Today I'm making a slow cooker pot of mince with carrots and swede and an apple crumble. Later on I'm off to dgs1's birthday party. His birthday is on Wednesday but weekends are better for parties. His mum has made him a fantastic Spiderman cake. I'll catch up with my aunt and uncle are they're coming too. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Sun 19-Feb-23 07:52:28

The birthday cake for the party

Greyduster Sun 19-Feb-23 07:58:01

What a fabulous cake!👍🏻

Abitbarmy Sun 19-Feb-23 07:59:25

Good morning all. Still in bed but a dry fairly calm day expected here in North Yorkshire. Spent some time yesterday cleaning the double buggy bought for the twins visits, it’s in pretty good condition for 50 quid and will do the job though it wasn’t the cleanest. Hoping to start some more seeds off today in the propagator. Heaven knows what I’m going to do with all the young plants when we go away for a week at the end of March. I have been known to take some with us un the past but there will be too many and I know from last time we stayed in the property that there aren’t many suitable sunny windowsills. I may have to rope my not very green fingered sister in whilst we’re away. Hmm. Enjoy your day all if you can,

Urmstongran Sun 19-Feb-23 08:05:22

No Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where, because it’s Sunday, this main road is very quiet. The weak sun is up and it’s not windy.

My stepfather is joining us for dinner after a drink first in the bar downstairs. I shall make Hungarian goulash so it can be left in the oven on a peep while we enjoy our drink. Himself will run him home then watch Man. Utd later. Exciting times for the club as bids are in now to buy out the Glazers who have been pretty unpopular owners.

Hope you’ve found your walking stick Greyduster? Great news Mick and for you too grandMattie. Your project is moving along nicely it seems.

Sar53 Sun 19-Feb-23 08:07:23

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is trying to shine, quite mild though.
Dh is off to rugby with one DGS, the other two are in Brazil.
Good news for you GM, I hope it all goes through smoothly.
A new baby present to wrap, a little girl born to a friend on Friday and veg to prepare for dinner, roast gammon.
May you all have a super Sunday xx

Sar53 Sun 19-Feb-23 08:08:06

Meant to say what a super cake !!

dragonfly46 Sun 19-Feb-23 08:08:29

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Nothing planned today so may go for a walk down the road as there has been a lot of activity down there this past week. Everyone seems to be uprooting their gardens.

Pleased your offer has been accepted GrandMattie. If we moved I would get rid of everything and start again, except my bed!
Yes keep safe Mick you don’t want anything to scupper the operation now.

Hoping everyone has a good day.

monk08 Sun 19-Feb-23 08:10:03

Good morning all from the Black country overcast at the moment.
Good news on the flat front grandMattie, and as others have said Mick it's a good idea to avoid busy places now you have a date for your procedure.
The fox has been busy burying eggs again, this time he's chosen my favourite tub that contains lilies, it is placed right by the so called fox scarer.
Gammon for dinner.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

NanKate Sun 19-Feb-23 08:12:38

Good morning Mick and All.

It’s slowly brightening up in South Bucks.

My eldest DGS had his 12th Birthday party yesterday. I was sent a photo and was told they had had a great time and had done an ‘EscapeRoom’ I haven’t a clue what that is. 🧐

Off to our local NT gardens where DH always takes bird food for a robin who usually turns up.

monk08 Sun 19-Feb-23 08:14:30

What a super cake 👍

baubles Sun 19-Feb-23 08:15:39

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Not long till your surgery date Mick, take care till then.

Good news Mattie.

What a glorious sunrise Greyduster. I hope your stick turns up.

Wonderful cake decorating Grandmabatty. Two of my GC are huge Spider-Man fans and would be over the moon with that cake.

We babysat at DD’s last night, the eldest, approaching her thirteenth birthday, had a friend staying over so we only saw them when they came down for food. The others cuddled for stories and games though, such a pleasure.

Today I am going to my first baby shower. I would have made an excuse but for the fact that the mum to be and her family have had a difficult year so I want to support her. No idea what to expect though.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Gingster Sun 19-Feb-23 08:15:58

Good morning all and it feels mild again. We only had the heating on for a couple of hours in the evening yesterday.

This morning DS1 and DIL are coming for coffee. The girls will still be 😴😴😴😴. We haven’t seen them for a while (they live 5 minutes away) as everyone have been busy bees. New jobs, house selling, girls being chauffeured here, there and everywhere! Busy lives! DS2 phoned yesterday to say they won’t be able to come for the long arranged family gathering next Sunday. His girls are rehearsing for their dance show 😤. Can’t be helped, I know, but more arrangements changed and re-made, drives me 🤯.

Dd and little DGD are coming for lunch - roast chicken etc.
we’ll have an afternoon of ‘doings’ , I’m sure.

Love and best wishes to all . Take care and enjoy your Sunday. 🌷
